About The Experience

Each room in this stone villa in Marche is its own romantic hideaway, individually decorated to delight. Stone terraces and a lovely garden complete the picture. Enjoy breakfast at the sunny kitchen table, and then wander down to the beach on foot or by car for a noontime swim.
Location Description

On the eastern coast of Italy, this villa is located in an ancient medieval suburb next to the church of Annunziata outside the Gate of the Sun, formerly the San Rocco gate. Customer Reviews

Overall:
Wonderful place. Beautiful view and location. The interior, rooms, living space was as per the pictures. The little terrace/garden was excellent. It was a wonderful week and a nice break from the more touristy areas of Italy.
Enjoyed Most:
The view, the location and the little terrace. Also the rooms and the interior was equal to or better than what the photos show.
Enjoyed Least:
The only issue we had was that the noise from the neighbors though the wall (mostly what sounded like a TV playing loudly). It was not unbearable but it was noticeable. Also they did respect time so was not an issue before 8 AM or after 11 PM or so
Surrounding Area:
Loved the old village, did a lot of walking. The walk down and back up was fine, but you should be somewhat in shape. The short drives to various villages were great. Some beautiful little towns and wonderful winding roads and views.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Cupra Maritimma. we were in the upper village and the main village as down the bottom of the hill. Easily walkable, just more of the up and down.
Tips or Restaurants:
Restaurant Pepenero, in the upper village, great restaurant, but go hungry as it is a multi-course Italian dinner. The meat store in the square, run by a couple of ladies, great spot.
Directions:
Easiest is to meet the property managers in the square. Once you follow them you have the direction. Only one way up the hill -)
Check In Out:
Was great, easy, painless and excellent. The property managers were great. Met us at the square, led us to the property and then we just met them at the square when we were leaving, handed over the keys and were on our way.

Overall:
Exceptional property! It was beautifully decorated and well appointed.
Enjoyed Most:
The view.
Enjoyed Least:
People who lived in the villa next to ours played their TV quite loudly. Since we were outside touring most of the time, it was only bothersome when we were in bed trying to get to sleep.
Surrounding Area:
There were a couple of great restaurants close to the villa. The town with all of the amenities you could possibly want was a short drive or walk from the villa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Yes. We walked into town everyday. It was great exercise. )
Tips or Restaurants:
Pepenero was excellent. It was really close and was priced really reasonably. The owner spoke perfect English which was a bonus since my husbands Italian is good but not great. Everything from the food to the wine suggestion was superb.
Directions:
The owners met us in the town square and we followed them to the property. Couldn't have been easier.
Check In Out:
No, the owners made it easy to check in and out. They are warm and quite lovely people.

Overall:
Excellent property. A bit difficult to reach up the steep hill, and climbing up and down to access the 4 stories was a bit of a chore, but great view.
Enjoyed Most:
Quiet, views, bedrooms, kitchen.
Enjoyed Least:
The fireplace is non-functional. Just a recessed painted space. Long steep hike up hill from town. Editor's Note: As stated in the property description, the fireplace is decorative, only.
Surrounding Area:
Found great food up the road and in Ascoli Piceno.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Cupra Marittima down the hill. Small.
Tips or Restaurants:
Very quiet in early March when we went. This is clearly a summer resort area. Recommend closer to summer or summer when the place has more going on and clearer weather.
Directions:
Good maps will get you there.
Check In Out:
No problems. Got a great tour of property on arrival.
