This district stretches from the Seine River all the way to Montparnasse and was once where bohemians and artists liked to hang out. The popular cocktail bar, Les Etages, has two “branches”, one located in the Marais; the other in St Germain. The covered market, Marche St.-Quentin, dates back to 1860, and has 30 plus stalls of mouth- watering cheese, baked goods, meats and more. Customer Reviews

Overall:
Our overall experience was very good. It is a small space except for the lower bedroom which was quite large. But I'm sure by most standards it was quite roomy for a Paris apartment. The kitchen was of small/adequate size and appointment and everything was in good working order. The apartment is very attractively decorated with designer fabrics, etc.
Enjoyed Most:
The view of the Paris rooftops and the FULL ON Eiffel Tower was breathtaking and not to be believed. The Sacre Coeur, Louvre, and Invalide were also visible. The furnished roof deck was a huge bonus as we had very warm weather for October.
Enjoyed Least:
Everyone comments on the small spiral staircase and there is a reason. It is tortuously narrow and twisty. It requires two hands and two feet to be firmly in place for each step. I'm not sure what an option would be given the small space, so you just learn to be very careful and live with it.
Surrounding Area:
It is a lovely Parisian street of mostly art galleries and lively bistros. Within a few blocks, however, you have the Metro, St. Germain Blvd, and shops. Within two blocks there is great specialty food shopping in one direction and the Seine and Quai in the other. A great location overall.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring your own music source, IPod, for example. They do have a CD player and you can plug into their speakers. We loved a little bistro with a zinc bar named Allard which was a short walking distance. The Buci is always great to sit outside, your fresh seafood for cooking, and watch the scene go by.
Directions:
It was a pretty straight forward street address.
Check In Out:
Antoine was our key holder person and he was on time and very polite and helpful. However, the management office had over-scheduled him and he did not have enough time to make explanations we could have used, as there was another family waiting outside for him at another street address. He was stressed at not being able to fulfill obligations as he would have liked.

Overall:
We had a wonderful time but were disappointed in a few features. Even though we knew about the circular staircases to each bedroom, we were not prepared for how steep and narrow they truly were. We couldn't even bring our luggage to them and had to spread our open suitcases all over the main living quarters. The rooftop bedroom was an add-on, quite small, and very warm in May.
Enjoyed Most:
The location. It was in the neighborhood of St. Germain de Pres and within walking distance of many restaurants, cafes, shops, the Louvre,D'Orsay, Notre Dame, etc.
Enjoyed Least:
The stairs and the fact that the elevator only went to the 4th floor and we were on the 5th. In all fairness, we knew about the elevator situation ahead of time.

Tips or Restaurants:
We suggest that you be either younger or more athletic than we. Our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood were Le Deux Margots and Cafe Marly at the Louvre. We ate at a different restaurant each day and enjoyed them all.
Directions:
We used metro maps to find the address.
