Customer Reviews

The property is in a great location, central to everything. It was a great size for our group and gave everyone their privacy.
Enjoyed Most:
The location is easily accessible to a lot of areas.
Enjoyed Least:
The only flaw is the fact that the bathrooms were not very clean. We were a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the apartment.
Surrounding Area:
Being able to walk around and see so many sights. Also, how close it was to the train station very convenient.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurant 4 Leoni was a must--excellent food and service.
We where picked up by a private driver and there were no issues.
Check In Out:
Mariolina was a pleasure to talk to and very accommodating with check in and out.

Michele, September

We had a great time there, made Tuscan meals on the little gas cooktop using local produce and wine. The apartment was huge, I am guessing 3000 sq foot. It sleeps 12 and there are lots of places to sleep - bedrooms, couches, etc. The heyholder was very nice, went out of her way to give us advice, shows us the House Book and even to meet me when my Taxi driver got lost! Editor's Note: When renting for 6, some of the bedrooms are closed off.
Enjoyed Most:
The original ceiling and wall frescoes - absolutely fabulous!! The size of the kitchen and living room - would accommodate a group of 10-12 nicely. Because it is on the third floor, the exterior noise in minimal during the day. House had AC units in each room which could be set to fan or cool.
Enjoyed Least:
The 80 stone steps leading up to the space from the street. We laughed about it but really groaned when it came to hauling suitcases up and down. No Elevator - this is Italy and the place is 1700's after all! Many small issues, but we left a note for the owner in case he sees his way fit to upgrade a bit. Appliances and WiFi a bit sketchy, no oven. Property is between two streets which have outdoor cafes on either side of the building, so it can get noisy if you don't turn on the AC for "white noise". Editor's Note: Since 2012, the Internet service available in this apartment (20 Mbps ADSL) has been provided by Telecom Italia; there are no reports of service issues.
Surrounding Area:
Fabulous shopping and dining all the way from four star Westin dining room to streetside cafes which we loved. Walking distance to many historic sites. Westin concierge was happy to book tours for us.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We took a bus tour to Pisa, fascinating route... Worth it to see the Leaning Tower, but also other sites. Pistoia where there are about 20 miles of horticultural nurseries, was also fascinating, although we weren't able to stop there.
Tips or Restaurants:
Make sure you have international electricity converters with 3 plugs in a row. This is an older establishment and you can fry your curling iron, etc. if you don't have one. WiFi works best in its immediate vicinity. The washing machine/dryer...takes forever and is tiny and inefficient. Make sure to bring washcloths. Like so many European establishments, they don't supply them. There is no concierge. Lots of good eating establishments... just wander out, peruse menu, and enjoy. Westin dining room is superlative and not expensive.
Check In Out:
Keyholder was thorough on checking us in. She was away on holiday when we left, so we simply put our keys down and left.

Darlene, August

Amazing opportunity to stay in an historical setting. Our family was blown away by the beauty of this apartment.
Enjoyed Most:
Primry location lose to all of the sites.
Enjoyed Least:
A lot of steps!
Surrounding Area:
Great sights and area. Opportunities for walking to everything.
Tips or Restaurants:
Be in shape! You have a long walk up the stairs. Pack light... You will have a washer. Osteria Giovanni was the best meal we had in all of Italy, and right downstairs!
Very close to the train station, convenient.
Check In Out:
Quick and efficient.
