Customer Reviews

Overall:
We had an fantastic stay at Casa de Venti - La Tempesta. The facilities were excellent and the owners of the property were exceptionally kind and generous with their time, knowledge and advice.
Enjoyed Most:
The villa was really well-positioned and felt very cozy and private. The owners Fillippo and Rachel were so helpful and made our stay a memorable one. The facilities were of a high standard and well maintained.
Surrounding Area:
The proximity to the local village made grocery shopping easy. There are lovely restaurants and and excellent gelato shop in the Main Street. We travelled to Siena several times and enjoyed the magnificent city centre.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteroni d'Arbia was within walking distance from the villa.
Directions:
We used the GPS with the directions provided and the property was easy to find.
Check In Out:
All of the check in check out process went very smoothly with Fillippo and Rachel.

Overall:
Quiet, rural location that is just a short drive from many tourist sites in Tuscany.
Enjoyed Most:
Well maintained, thoroughly modernized.
Enjoyed Least:
Kitchen is small, but this is fairly normal by European standards.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Walkable, but we drove most everywhere. Definitely cannot enjoy this wonderful setting without a car.
Tips or Restaurants:
I missed the chance to play golf with the owner, who is on site. Next time!

Fredrik, October

Overall:
Wonderful! The property is great for families, with lots of games available and outdoor activities. But, it is also very quiet and not in the middle of a crowded area. It would be great for couples, too.
Enjoyed Most:
The way the property was set up with plenty of room for anything you wanted to do. The bikes were fun. We enjoyed ping pong and archery. The pool was a large and very pretty, overlooking the Tuscan hills and fields.
Surrounding Area:
Grocery shopping was easy and fun at the village Coop Store. Walking, running and bike riding around the property were beautiful! We saw deer and pheasants. There were a few good restaurants in the village that we really enjoyed. Driving on the surrounding dirt roads in the Tuscan countryside was fun.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteroni D'Arbia
Tips or Restaurants:
Get out and explore the countryside.
Directions:
They were fine. We drove right to it. Yes, we did use GPS.
Check In Out:
No, Filippo and Rachel were great!

Teri, July

Overall:
We had a lovely stay in Tuscany. Upon arrival, they had stocked the kitchen for the first morning's breakfast and they showed us how to use the Italian coffee maker.
Enjoyed Most:
Location was great. Short distance to many of the lovely Tuscan towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Yes , we picked up a pizza one night and walked home and enjoyed it at the house. We did use the laundromat in town and it was clean and machines functioned well.
Directions:
A map would be helpful to have included in the final instructions. We did have trouble finding the home when we arrived in town.
Check In Out:
Check in and check out was effortless.

Ann, October

Overall:
Hosts were wonderful, property exceeded expectations. Only problem was we didnt get to stay longer!
Enjoyed Most:
Owners.
Surrounding Area:
Monteroni was a nice little town with a good restaurant, laundromat and bakery. Very convenient to Siena, Chianti and Brunello vineyards.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteroni D'Arbia and yes.
Directions:
Coming from Monteroni it was an asphalt road; you then turned left onto the white road.
Check In Out:
Went smoothly, recommend you buy a few bottles of wine and some olive oil to enjoy while staying.

Jeff, October

Overall:
Fantastic!
Enjoyed Most:
Central location. Quiet and away from crowded areas. Beautifully restored building with nice facilities and very well taken care of.
Enjoyed Least:
The balcony bedroom was a little unhandy and would be challenging for older visitors.
Surrounding Area:
What can you say about Tuscany that hasn't already been said? Everywhere you look at is like a picture. We had a great time exploring back roads and looking for small towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteroni d'Arbia was less that a km away.
Tips or Restaurants:
We found only one true restaurant/pizzeria in Monteroni. "La Galera" was a terrific place and we never looked any further!
Directions:
We did use a GPS and the directions were fine. We rented a car in Rome at Termini Station, so some more specific directions for getting out of town might have helped us at the beginning.
Check In Out:
Just want to give a special mention to our hosts, who were so very helpful and accommodating. They were so "down-to-earth" and interesting to visit with. They provided lots of tips and hints on local attractions. Filippo went way above and beyond and took us to a local shop (owned by a friend) to help us get our phone working properly. It was nice to be made to feel so at home right from the start.

Robert, June

Overall:
Excellent.
Enjoyed Most:
Very personable landlords, nice area to walk around, close to town.
Enjoyed Least:
Upstairs loft bedroom was rather small. It is probably better suited for a family rather than two couples.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful area for walking, relaxing.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteroni d'Arbia. Yes, it's within walking distance.
Directions:
Yes, we used a GPS and had no problem finding the place.

Chris, June

Overall:
Very good. It was a beautiful property and the host went above and beyond to help us.
Enjoyed Most:
The wonderful bedroom with the fireplace!
Enjoyed Least:
The fact that the second bed was in the loft of the living room, so if those sleeping there wanted to sleep a little later than the other folks, they were disturbed by people going through to the kitchen.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The town was wonderful and was within a 10-minute walk.
Directions:
We did use a GPS, but directions were OK.

Wayne, June

Overall:
The property is very nice. Our hosts were helpful and the property is very well-maintained and immaculate. The kitchen was well-supplied with everything we needed to cook a meal. They also supplied us with milk, juice, coffee, butter, jam, sugar and some breakfast rolls and pastries upon our arrival. The bathrooms were already supplied with soap, shampoo, toilet paper and even a hair dryer.
Enjoyed Most:
The location.
Enjoyed Least:
The weather was cold and rainy and they evidently turn the heat off in April. So, the villa was chilly. There was a fireplace in the bedroom and we were given a space heater. We were disappointed that we could not take advantage of the grounds and pool due to the weather!
Surrounding Area:
It was conveniently located near to some beautiful small hill towns in Southern Tuscany. Colle d'Angelo, Montalcino and Montepulciano were all within an hour's drive. Volterra and San Gimignano were under 90 minutes' drive. And Siena was 15 minutes away. We had the peace and quiet of a beautiful country setting, yet were close to everything we wanted to see.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteroni d'Arbia was a 10 minute walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
La Galera in Monteroni d'Arbia, which was recommended by Filippo, was excellent. There is a very large super market in town called the "Coop." It had everything you need and a good selection of produce; the fresh meats and cheeses was quite good. As stated previously, the owners of the property stocked it with soap, toilet paper, coffee, etc. so we didn't need to bring anything.
Directions:
We used the GPS that we got with our rental car, plus we looked up the property address on GoogleMaps prior to leaving the U.S.

Overall:
This property was fab!! The property was in wonderful condition. We would recommend this property to anyone. I thank you for taking the time and interest in understanding our desires and coming up with such a brilliant suggestion. Without a doubt we will use RentVillas in the future.
Enjoyed Most:
The owners were considerate and most helpful.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.

Ranjit, August

Overall:
The property and his wife were an absolute delight. They were extremely helpful in getting us situated. I can't say enough good things about the property.
Enjoyed Most:
It's location and the overall set-up.
Enjoyed Least:
We can't think of anything that we didn't like.
Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed the walks into town and around the property. The tennis club in town was wonderful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The property is just outside Monteroni D"Arbia which is just a short walk away. There were also bicycles available to ride into town.
Tips or Restaurants:
We found an unbelievable store which sold fresh pasta... you place your order in the morning and pick up the pasta right at dinner time. It was some of the best ravioli we've ever had.

Marta, August

Overall:
I would love to go back and stay again, and I feel very strongly that the owner should be commended for his fine establishment and should be very proud of his beautiful home!
Enjoyed Most:
The attitudes of the owner and staff were exceptional. They were helpful and pleasant, and the villa was kept immaculately. They never let you feel you were a nuisance in any way.
Enjoyed Least:
The only thing I didn't care for was that there was not that much available in the town. However, it was no hardship.
Surrounding Area:
The natural and unspoiled beauty.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The town was a 5 minute walk if you needed anything.
Tips or Restaurants:
There are a couple of very good restaurants just 5 or 10 minutes away. I can't recall the names, but you can't miss them in the Siena direction.
Directions:
The only thing I would say is that it actually takes longer to get there from Rome airport than we were told, but I would still go back!
Check In Out:
Due to a problem with our flights, we arrived at 1:30 in the morning instead of early afternoon. The owner was available by phone to get us there, and was welcoming to us even though we ruined his night, and I'm sure disturbed his sleep!

Ellen, July

Overall:
Highly recommend.
Enjoyed Most:
Gracious host - excellent location to Siena, hill towns - cooking class was a lot of fun - would highly recommend.
Enjoyed Least:
Really nothing to complain about.
Surrounding Area:
Excellent location within walking distance of town - centrally located to reach many key Tuscany sites.

Brian, September

Overall:
Since we stayed in the converted barn, we didn't experience what the others did in the main house. So, ours would be different from the others. Fillippo and Rachael made the stay memorable. Fillippo does a tour of the property and gives the history of the area. He saved us many times by giving us precise directions on how to manage driving in Siena.
Enjoyed Most:
The property was air conditioned. And, it was very private.
Enjoyed Least:
Our bed, in the loft, had no room in which to get into the bed. We had to crawl over a wrought iron foot board to get in. The extra bathroom was downstairs.
Surrounding Area:
We were within driving distance of many small villages and had easy access to them because of the Cassia 2.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteroni De Arbia. It was 5 minutes away by walking.
Tips or Restaurants:
The owners, Fillippo and Rachael, made sure the property was well stocked with hairdryers, internet access, Satellite TV, stereo system, books, music, videos, pots, pans, dishes etc. Fillippo is a weath of knowledge regarding restaurants in the area.
