Customer Reviews

Overall:
It was wonderful.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the whole atmosphere... it was just what we needed.
Enjoyed Least:
There were mosquitoes; the pool needed to be cleaned. Editor's Note: The owner has arranged for new pool maintenance. September 2011.
Surrounding Area:
The whole area was beautiful and the small towns around had everything we needed.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring insect repellent for mosquitoes. We didn't eat out much because one of the reasons for renting was to be able to cook with the local ingredients. However in Volterra. Ombra della Sera had exceptional food. I used to be in charge of a college culinary program, so I know of which I speak - and Lucca, the waiter, was great. We went back a second time and had the most wonderful mussels and clams in a soup.. really great.

Overall:
Fantastic place. We stayed a week and used it as a central point to travel to surrounding sights. Great setting. Friendly host.
Enjoyed Most:
Atmosphere was great. House is in good condition and very livable. We had the fireplace going every night.
Enjoyed Least:
Location was further from major highways than I anticipated.
Surrounding Area:
Hill country in Tuscany is beautiful.
Tips or Restaurants:
Host provided information on all restaurants in the area. There were plenty of them and all were good.
Directions:
Directions from Rome used A1 almost to Florence and then back south. Better route is to exit A1 to go through Siena We did use GPS a lot.
