Customer Reviews

Overall:
We enjoyed our stay there very much. The facility was outstanding and the service was first rate. The pictures online had us expecting a nice location and all of us felt that the property delivered what was expected, and then some!
Enjoyed Most:
The outdoor area was very private and calming. There were lots of spaces to seek out some downtime both inside and outside.
Enjoyed Least:
The sound system is quite outdated. Our only suggestion is that nobody uses CDs anymore and with a property like this one it would make more sense to have iPod-friendly sound system capabilities. Editor's Note: A new sound system has been installed. Nov 2012.
Surrounding Area:
Lots of beaches to go and try out. Walking distance to the town, easy cab rides to anywhere. That said, we would recommend a car to people for the freedom it offers. The view was outstanding, the sunsets from the property are magical.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Mykonos Town is walking distance, about 15 minutes.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring CDs for music until such time as the sound system on the property is upgraded. No need to bring spices, etc from home, as this property would not require it. Beach towels, beach bags, and linens are all there and decent quality.
Directions:
We were met at the port by Ernesto, along with the car rental company. We rented a car for the duration and it proved handy, as we drove one car and Ernesto brought the other folks who couldn't fit into the one car when we needed to transport more than three people.

Sherry, June

Overall:
Wonderful, it was a very relaxing vacation.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool and outdoor eating areas.
Enjoyed Least:
The only thing that was slightly inconvenient was being told not to put the TP in the toilets. Editor's Note: This is the custom throughout the Greek Islands, and has to do with the islands' sewer systems.
Surrounding Area:
Liked the "smallness" of the island - could explore the whole island.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Mykonos Town - yes, it was within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Good restaurant - Katarina's

Lisa, October

Overall:
The Villa defies description. It is rare that the true beauty of something exceeds the website pictures and commentary. This villa is just such a case. The interior, the grounds and the views are spectacular. Anne Marie, Athena and Ernesto, have our gratitude and appreciation, as they are the perfect complement. They made our family feel at home and comfortable and attended to every detail. As for the cooking, to say it is extraordinary, would be an understatement. Our stay was more than we ever expected and wished for. All of these words can never truly express the lasting memories we will have of Amelia's Sweet 16 celebration in Mykonos at this Villa.
Enjoyed Most:
It is difficult to single out anything as being more outstanding. The staff, the property and the location were all perfect and beyond our expectations.
Enjoyed Least:
There was nothing about the property that we didn't like!! Therefore, our only dissatisfaction was that we had to leave!
Surrounding Area:
The views from the villa were breathtaking! The location was perfect allowing us to either stay at the villa and relax and enjoy the pool or walk down to the small local beach if we preferred to swim in the sea.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest town was Mykonos town or Chora as it is also known. It is here there are shops, restaurants and clubs. It was within walking distance, however, flat, good walking shoes are helpful as there are a lot of hills to conquer!
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa owner has thought of everything the guests would possibly need. Even small soaps, shampoos, conditioners and body lotions in all of the bathrooms. Our only suggestion is to have good flat walking shoes as the best way to get into town is on foot and it is "uphill both ways." Ladies, do not plan to wear high heels at night. As for dining out, we never did. The home cooked meals provided by Anne Marie with Athena's help were outstanding! My family never wanted to eat out at a restaurant. Anne Marie has a menu of her specialties and every morning we chose what we wanted for dinner and when we wanted it and it was always ready for us and delicious!
Directions:
Upon arrival at the airport, we were greeted by Ernesto to take us to the villa. The trip from the airport to the villa is approximately 10 mins. We were traveling as a group of nine people so Ernesto made three trips for us. As it turns out, our luggage did not follow us to Mykonos from Athens so the first night we made do with what we had in our carry-ons. It's always a good idea to carry an extra change of clothes and small toiletries with you for just such an occurrence. Our luggage arrived the next morning and Ernesto picked it up for us. It was all there by the time we awoke to start our first full day of our vacation. What could have been a major inconvenience turned out to be a non-event!
Check In Out:
Having the caretakers as residents at the property alleviated any issues regarding this process. Although they resided at the property, in a separate small residence, they were never a bother. They appeared as needed always in the background but never intrusive.

Donna, August

Overall:
The most fantastic vacation experience. I have never been so pampered and relaxed. The villa exceeded all my expectations, just wish I had an extra week.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location. The ability to go into Mykonos town multiple times a day if desired. Ernesto and Anna Marie were amazing. First class service, friendly but quiet and respectful of the guests' privacy.
Enjoyed Least:
The pool level suite was perfect for our group of 3 family members but could be awkward for 2 couples, very little privacy. Also the rooms were not air conditioned like the other bedrooms.
Surrounding Area:
Spectacular scenery, nightly sunsets were breath taking. Car, moped and ATV rental at the bottom of the hill if desired.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Mykonos town was only a short 10- 15 minute walk away The way home is uphill but worth every step.
Tips or Restaurants:
Rent an ATV and explore the island and beaches, great fun!!!
Directions:
Transportation to the villa was arranged.

Alice, June

Overall:
Well cared for by Ernesto and Anna-Marie, making the experience easy and relaxing.
Enjoyed Most:
Secluded behind a stone wall and gate you feel like you are away from the rest of the Island and the outside world.
Enjoyed Least:
Two bedrooms downstairs share a bathroom and you have to walk through one of the bedrooms to get out to the patio. It worked well for our group but may not for some. The laundry price should be established ahead of time if Anna- Marie does the washing. It was expensive.
Surrounding Area:
Great beach at Super Paradise and many along the way. Did not rent a car or moped and walked most everywhere. Didn't really want to leave the Villa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Main town is walking distance from the villa and there is a beach along the way.
Tips or Restaurants:
Go with Ernesto to town to pick out the fresh food and fish. Nicko"s Taverna in town is reasonable and good and everyone sits outside. All hooked with Wi-Fi and I-Pod connection. Great patio for 10 doing Yoga.
Directions:
Ernesto picks everyone up at the airport or Ferry and is very reliable.
Check In Out:
Met with a warm towel and smiling faces.

Overall:
Villa Mykonos was the best travel experience we have ever had. The staff, Ernesto and Anne Marie, pampered us from the moment we arrived to the last good-bye hugs. It actually took some getting used to. Wonderful people.
Enjoyed Most:
The Master Bedroom and the outdoor areas were incredibly comfortable.
Enjoyed Least:
Room with Twin beds was inconvenient for our group, but understood. Lower level bedroom exposed to various "critters" if windows left open. No real complaints if you didn't ask.
Surrounding Area:
15 min walk to town was lovely. 10 min jog to gym was perfect. Mykonos has a different beach waiting - everyday!
Tips or Restaurants:
You can find whatever you need on Mykonos, but chances are it is already in this incredible Villa. It was nearly perfect.
Directions:
Ernesto picks you up and drops you off. There are no transfer issues unless your luggage doesn't fit in his jeep and you didn't rent a car or scooter at airport. He'd make two trips, no worries. 10 min ride to Villa.

William, August

Overall:
Wonderful! The villa was perfect, and the staff was so gracious.
Enjoyed Most:
The outside areas and the pool.
Enjoyed Least:
We liked it all.
Surrounding Area:
The beaches were great and the tavernas on the beaches were excellent. Mykonos was very lively and fun to walk around at all times of day and night!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Definitely close and walkable, but slightly dangerous with all the cars and scooters speeding around. Not safe for little kids and/or a stroller.
Tips or Restaurants:
rent a car for sure - but do it once you're there. Ernesto arranged it and we got a decent deal and were able to park there anytime we went into town which is helpful. There is really no other convenient way to explore the island without a car and some of the farther-away beaches are incredible.
Directions:
Ernesto picked us up!

Kate, July

Overall:
We had a wonderful week at Villa Mykonos. From the time we arrived at the airport Ernesto and Anna Marie took excellent care of us, and seemed to anticipate our every need.
Enjoyed Most:
The property was beautifully maintained and provided spectacular views of the harbor and famous windmills.
Enjoyed Least:
The only surprise was the lack of privacy in the 2 bedrooms that shared a small bath. The second bedroom was only accessible through the first bedroom.
Surrounding Area:
The location was great - town and a beach were a quick walk away. We also rented 2 cars to explore the island, which I would recommend.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The town of Mykonos was within easy walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
The house is stocked with everything you need - even hairdryers. We found everything very casual.
Directions:
This was not an issue - Ernesto met us at the airport and escorted us to the property.

Debbie Travel Agent, May

Overall:
Wonderful couple. The food was superb.
Enjoyed Most:
It was beautiful and exquisitely maintained.
Enjoyed Least:
Walking up the hill.
Surrounding Area:
Lovely view.
Tips or Restaurants:
You don't need to bring anything.

Beverly , August

Overall:
I want to thank my Rentvillas Travel Advisor for all the help she gave our group in helping us plan this wonderful week, and the owner for not being worried when I had her get us 4 cases of wine. It was truly an experience of a life time which all of us will never forget.
Enjoyed Most:
The view!! The pool !! Not having to cook...fresh orange juice and the best coffee every morning when we wanted it. A table that sat all 10 of us for dinner with candles and lanterns glowing everywhere with the most beautiful flowers around us. Oh did I mention the POOL !!!!!
Enjoyed Least:
The only thing I would change is having the kitchen, dining-room and living room air-conditioned like the bedrooms were.
Surrounding Area:
The most spectacular view Ive ever seen, I even got up early to watch the sail-boats and cruse ships come in. I believe that our group took over 800 pictures.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Mykonos..It was in walking distance and we went to town everyday...sometimes we walked and other times the group took 4 wheelers we rented and saw almost the entire island.
Tips or Restaurants:
No need to bring hair dryers...The laundry soap they use made my whites brighter than they were when i brought them. Bring loose fitting clothes; the food is sooo good. You have to go exploring we found the best lunch spots to be the ones right at the beaches. Oh and for all you shoppers pack a extra bag or 2; the shopping rocks!!!
Directions:
Erenesto meet us at the airport
Check In Out:
When leaving we could not get any taxis and we were late getting to the airport. Erenesto had to make a lot of trips but got there safely...be there at least 50-60 minutes early they tend to over book the flights.

Kathy, June

Overall:
One of the best vacations ever. We were a group that are all well traveled and everyone thought this villa was outstanding and will be hard to beat.
Enjoyed Most:
EVERYTHING, from the beautiful grounds, to the all the outside "lounging" areas, the bedrooms and bathrooms, but most of all how we were pampered by Ernesto, Anne Marie and Gigi. They were always available but never intrusive.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing
Surrounding Area:
A beautiful fun Greek Island, what more to say.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The town of Mykonos was a short 10 minute walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
The best food and atmosphere is right at the villa with Anne Marie's cooking. Have breakfast and dinner at the villa. During the day explore the island and have lunch at the beaches or in town overlooking the water.
Directions:
Ernesto picks you up at the airport, so from the moment you land you're taken care of.

Jackie, June

Overall:
We absolutely loved it. It was so pretty and well-equipped. We felt like we were at a luxury hotel, but better. Loved having a cook, too.
Enjoyed Most:
The view was spectacular and the whole property was beautiful.
Enjoyed Least:
The only small thing I would say is that the living room area didn't really have good seating for all of us, especially when we tried to watch a movie.
Surrounding Area:
Loved being able to walk into town.
Tips or Restaurants:
We mostly ate at the villa, but when we did eat in town, it was at someplace we just happened to find. It would be nice to have restaurant suggestions as part of the book in the villa.
Check In Out:
It was wonderful to have lunch waiting for us when we arrived.

Shirley, May

Enjoyed Most:
It was very clean and well maintained. Ernesto's extensive video library.
Enjoyed Least:
Having the caretakers around the home. It was often difficult to relax . My guests needed their privacy.
Surrounding Area:
The area surrounding the villa has a nice feel, however, as we had gale force winds for all of our stay we could not enjoy it as much. We found ourselves indoors a lot. Happy hour would have been very pleasant if the chairs did not have to be tied down or brought in. There needs to be more shelter for times like these.
Directions:
It was a good idea to have someone collect you from the airport as we would have never have found it.
Check In Out:
The greeting we received along with the banquet was appreciated and made for a comfortable landing.

Panayota, September

Enjoyed Most:
The Villa was fabulous. But Ernesto and Anna Maria, made everything so seamless. They helped facilitate our every need.
Enjoyed Least:
The property was fantastic, however the ferry system in Mykonos leaves much to be desired. I can give more detail if there is any interest.
Surrounding Area:
The restaurants the shopping the view. It was all spectacular.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Mykonos town was within waling distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Our only disappointment was that we took the ferry to Santorini. The only way to see Santorini is to spend the night there. So we agreed and made reservations at a hotel to stay one night. The next day as we are standing in line for the ferry to return to our wonderful villa in Mykonos, they cancelled the ferry without any warning. This left us stranded in Santorini, with no way to get back. After pleading with they travel agent, we went directly to the airport and bought tickets through Athens back to Mykonos on a morning flight. We lost 2 nights at the villa, we paid a small fortune on hotel and airline tickets to return to Mykonos. I would never recommend that journey to anyone.

Enass, July

Enjoyed Most:
The views were stunning, the grounds fabulous and meticulously neat. The caretakers, Ernesto and Anne Marie, where outstanding. They were the true treasure of Mykonos! We especially enjoyed all the outside eating and lounging niches and the candlelit dining!
Enjoyed Least:
nothing.
Surrounding Area:
We rented scooters and visited all of the island, beaches and shopping areas.
Nearby Events or Locales:
There isn't really another town on Mykonos so to speak. We would highly recommend taking 2 days to tour Santorini, it is a totally different experience that should not be missed.
Tips or Restaurants:
We had our best meals right at the villa. Anne Marie and Ernesto were superb cooks and treated us like royalty. The candlelit meals and the breathtaking views from our dinner table were an added bonus, we just could not find a better restaurant! Jimmy's no doubt has THE BEST GYROS in town.

Margot, September

Enjoyed Most:
Our visit to Villa Mykonos was spectacular! Little did we know that when we booked the villa it was the week of the Festival of St. Mary. We heard that an additional 50,000 were on the island during the week. Ernesto, Maria, Lolita and Athena were attentive to our every need and the food was fabulous. We could have done a lot more sightseeing, but the villa was so comfortable, we stayed there most of the time. We took walks to town in the afternoon and worked off all the calories from the delicious food. Ernesto took me to the fish market a few times and I got to pick out fresh local fish which was quite an experience. The villa's exterior was very spacious and we could spend the whole day outside, either in the pool, under the pergola, or lounging on the first or second floor chairs taking in the views of the harbor. The views at night were equally spectacular and we ate outside every night. We would highly recommend this villa to a large family or group of friends. All in all a great time for everyone! Was the villa worth the price and worth what we paid for it? Yes. The pool and outdoor dining area was stunning. We ate all our meals outside and at night the view of the water and lights of Mykonos was magnificent. We tried renting a van on the island but unless you have driven before in Greece, do not try it. As a result we walked into town in the late afternoons. It took about 20 minutes and was doable for everyone but grandma who was 82. The first part was a little rocky and had some slope to it, but once you hit the road, it was fine. We walked to the ferry to do a day trip to Delos and there were other ferry trips as well from the port. Our family was content to stay at the villa and read, play games, tell stories and relax. If you have a group that wants to go out and party late at night, it is difficult to get around. There are only 20 or so taxis on the island and they are not reliable so getting around on foot is the only option. There are restaurants within walking distance but the hot bars are too far to walk. We also did not try the beaches because of the crowds. There is a bus line within walking distance of the villa that goes to the beach. Not sure the schedule or cost of this. Is the help helpful? Yes. The villa is cared for by a Philippine family consisting of the father, Ernesto, who cares for the villa, pool, garden, shopping, etc., the mother who is an excellent chef, and the 2 daughters who help cook, serve the meals and keep the villa clean. They live in a small building behind the pool. They cater to your every need and understand your need for privacy as well. Ernesto understands English pretty well and will make ferry reservations, dinner reservations, and do whatever he can to help. They are wonderful people and will make your stay very comfortable. Just remember that Ernesto is not your personal chauffer (he will take you shopping for food or other needs for the villa) and the villa's jeep is not for your use.
Tips or Restaurants:
Unless you have driven in Greece or Europe, don't drive on these narrow streets. Lots of mopeds and fast drivers. There are also only 30 taxi's on the island. So be prepared to walk to town (a little hilly so you need good walking shoes) or stay at the villa. Not a hardship for us cuz there were 9 people. There is also a bus just down the street from the villa that goes into town. The caretaker picks you up from the airport/ferry in a jeep. He may need to make 2-3 trips depending on amount of luggage, number of people. etc. We were surprised when we saw the small vehicle but it all worked out. Same issue when you leave. The villa is very close to the airport and a few minutes further away from the ferry.

Susan, August

Overall:
It was excellent.
Enjoyed Most:
Level of comfort.
Enjoyed Least:
Too many staff around at times.
Tips or Restaurants:
All in the guest book!

Martin, August

Overall:
The pictures on line do not do the place justice.
Enjoyed Most:
The staff were superb....kind, warm, friendly, expert at local advice.
Enjoyed Least:
There were some plumbing issues that need attention, and they are being worked on.
Surrounding Area:
Walk into town, beautiful pool and garden and view
Nearby Events or Locales:
Mylonos town is a 10-minute walk away
Tips or Restaurants:
Restaurants at Foukos Beach were our favorite and Caprice in town on the water. You would want to rent a car to get to the more remote parts of the island....arranged expertly by the staff.
Directions:
Actually, there were no directions to the property and that would be helpful...but there didn't really need to be, because the staff met everyone and we had many guests at the airport.
Check In Out:
The staff could not have been more gracious. Flying to Mykonos from the States takes a long time and requires a few jumps. We had missed connections and two sets of lost bags. The staff dealt with the airlines on all these issues. The deposit was handled graciously.

Elizabeth, July

Overall:
A great property in a great location. We found it to be a superior vacation value.
Enjoyed Most:
The villa is situated in a beautiful, peaceful spot with a fabulous view and impeccable grounds. The staff is what makes this villa stand out, however. They are friendly, efficient, and fabulous cooks. They greet you with a smile each morning and throughout your day there is nothing that they cannot do to make you comfortable.
Enjoyed Least:
Some of the bedrooms are small but overall every person was thrilled with the property.
Surrounding Area:
Everything is close. You can walk into town and the beaches are within a ten minute scooter or taxi ride.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Mykonos Town, and yes, a fifteen-minute walk will get you there.
Tips or Restaurants:
The pool gets pretty chilly after September so the beaches might be a better bet to swim. Most every tavena was terrific in town. The cooks are so good and the view so fabulous at the villa that we ate most dinners at the property.
Directions:
The staff will pick you up and once you are there, it is easy to get around.
Check In Out:
We were greeted with warm wash cloths at arrival and ice water, which was such a nice touch after a long journey.

Pam, September
