Overall:
Beautiful stay.
Enjoyed Most:
The hosts and the view.
Surrounding Area:
Easy access to surrounding towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia; could walk but we drove.
Tips or Restaurants:
Enjoyed buying local foods and cooking in the apartment.
Directions:
Did not use GPS but found properly using written directions provided.

Joan, May

Overall:
Claudia and Rudi were just wonderful hosts! One of our best experiences was joining the other guests for a dinner cooked by Claudia. The grounds and view were breathtaking. The property was centrally located to all the areas we planned to visit.
Enjoyed Most:
The location and view.
Enjoyed Least:
Would have liked a shower caddy as there was nowhere to put soap or shampoo in the shower.
Surrounding Area:
Co-op very close by to buy groceries. Scenery was glorious.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia Senese; busy road so not easily walkable.
Tips or Restaurants:
Only towels are provided, but no washcloths. Kitchen could use a spatula. We were on the road every day and returned late so didn't eat locally.
Directions:
GPS was the best way to locate the property. If you have a GPS, spend the money to download maps of Italy -- indispensable!
Check In Out:
No issues.

Kathy, October

Overall:
Our stay at Vecchio Borgo-Quercia was the highlight of our trip. Claudia and Rudy (the owners) made us feel like part of their family. The villa is charming, clean, well maintained and perfectly located for daytrips to surrounding towns and villages. We loved going for sunset walks in the vineyards and spending time on the patio with the other guests. As an added bonus, we were there during the grape harvest and got to watch that process and learn about making wine. Speaking of wine, their wines are excellent and Claudia keeps a room stocked with wines, grappa, and olive oil that guests can take and enjoy just by checking a box! I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay at the villa and we'd return in a flash!
Enjoyed Most:
Having an apartment with a kitchen was great. We frequently ate large meals during the day, then just had a light meal in our apartment in the evening. Being on a working farm was terrific. Claudia and Rudy were amazing hosts. The location was perfect for our daily excursions. The views were breathtaking. (Obviously, Ii's hard to say what we liked most!)
Enjoyed Least:
I guess if I had to pick something, I'd say that WiFi access was spotty, but that's an extremely minor complaint!
Surrounding Area:
Day trips to Montepulciano, Lucca, Vada, the Chianti region, San Gimignano, Volterra, drives through the countryside. Tuscany is an incredible beautiful area and the towns and villages are charming and so historic.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia-Sinese. It was only 3km away but walking along the highway (which is the only access) was too dangerous. The road was narrow and windy with no shoulders to walk on. The nearest 'larger' town was Poggibonsi. It was 5 km away and had grocery stores and other services.
Tips or Restaurants:
Everything we needed was provided. I can't think of anything we would have needed to bring.
Directions:
I didn't understand the difference between 'Sud' and 'Nord' (must have missed that in my Italian lessons), so we took the first exit to Val D'Elsa which was Nord and that doesn't get you there. You might want to clarify that there are two exits and guests coming from Firenze should watch for the 'Sud' exit.

Mike, September

Overall:
We enjoyed our stay. Claudia is an excellent host and very knowledgeable about the area. Loved the cooking class and met some very nice people who were also staying there. Fabulous atmosphere. Tuscany could easily have been "the Garden of Eden".
Enjoyed Most:
The atmosphere was so peaceful. And quiet. A great place to relax and enjoy the good life.
Surrounding Area:
The natural beauty and the history of the area. Also, shopping is great if you are into that.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia, and no it is not within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Villa is very well furnished. Would suggest bring a few days worth of food to start. Two great restaurants in Monteriggioni, about 15 minutes away by car.
Check In Out:
These processes were a clean and easy as could be.

John, September

Overall:
It was fantastic--everything we were hoping for and more. So relaxing and peaceful. A great place to go "home" to every evening.
Enjoyed Most:
The setting, the beautiful views, central location to easily make day trips anywhere in Tuscany and especially the hosts, Claudia and Rudy! They were so helpful with anything we asked and because they live on the property, always easy to find.
Enjoyed Least:
It's difficult to think of anything. We stayed for a full week so a clothes dryer would have been great (there is a shared washing machine on site) but we went to the lavanderia in Poggibonsi one night and it was convenient and fast...no problem!
Surrounding Area:
We were within a 30-minute or so drive to Florence, Volterra, San Gimignano, Chianti, Sienna, Monterrigioni and so many more cities and medieval villages....And the drives there were breathtaking! We also made a day trip to Pisa and the coast (Livorno and Cecina)--gorgeous!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia was very close with a great grocery store and restaurant. We didn't attempt to walk it since we had a rental car. It's possible but you have some steep hills to maneuver. A rental car is the only way to go when staying in Tuscany so you can explore on your own!
Tips or Restaurants:
Be sure to enjoy the olive oil and wine made at the estate. It's available all the time. You just note what you took and pay for it when you check out. Very, very reasonable prices! Stock up on bread, cold cuts (the deli is ridiculously good) and cheese at the store in Staggia so you can make sandwiches late at night or for lunch. Take some time to walk the property. There are grape vines as far as the eye can see and every kind of fruit tree including olive, pomegranate, walnut, fig, lemon. We bought eggs and fresh sausages to cook for breakfast before we hit the road everyday. The steakhouse in Staggia was very good and reasonably priced!
Directions:
The drive into Montalpruno is in a curve so we had to be on a close lookout for it when we were coming in, especially at night, but it's not difficult to find. We did not use a GPS but I think it would have been helpful. We used a good old fashioned paper map and the signs were fairly easy to follow. Be aware, the highways and roads are not numbered, however.
Check In Out:
Check in was very easy. We got to the property later than we anticipated, around 9:00 on Saturday night. Claudia and Rudy were hosting a dinner party, so she gave us a quick tour of our apartment and told us we could wait until the morning to photocopy our passports. We were then invited to join them and the other guests for dinner and relax after our very long day of flying and driving.

Dana, October

Overall:
We had a wonderful experience. Met nearly all our expectations. Judy felt like she was "in heaven."
Enjoyed Most:
Claudia and her family were very friendly and accommodating. The location enabled us to see many hill towns. The pet rabbit and cat added charm to the property. Our apartment was more than adequate, and the kitchen was well equipped. Available wine and olive oil were wonderful. Costs for additional services were most reasonable. We felt like we were a visiting part of of the family and appreciated the informality.
Enjoyed Least:
Our GPS could not locate it regardless of what name or address we or the management gave it, so we had to return to one of the nearby towns--not much of a complaint. The swimming pool was cold, as is often the case in Europe--but not unbearable.
Surrounding Area:
Hilltop location enabled us to see the beauty of Tuscany wherever we looked and location was convenient to many of the hill towns we were interested in seeing. We were also able to drive to Pisa and get the train to La Spezia and thence to Cinque Terre in one day, which was a dream come true.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We could have walked to Staggia Senese, but we did not.
Tips or Restaurants:
Kitchen was well equipped. Judy did not even use any of the spices she brought. Laundry services were adequate and reasonable.
Directions:
I would not attempt to drive in Italy without a GPS--Italy chip available from Garmin for 70.
Check In Out:
It was very easy. I cannot imagine reasonable people having difficulty or conflict with Claudia.

Dean, September

Overall:
Like coming home!
Enjoyed Most:
The owner, Claudia, was a sweetheart. The scenery around the property was stunning as well. This is the real deal at this property, a real working farm, and you're treated like family the moment you arrive!
Enjoyed Least:
The shower in our room was a bit small (but it wouldn't stop me from staying here again). Also, the mosquitos were ferocious at dusk (at least in July) so come prepared with bug spray.
Surrounding Area:
You are very centrally located by staying at this property. About 40 minutes from Florence, 20 minutes to Siena, 20 minutes to San Gimignano, 30 to Volterra, 1.5 to Pisa, and you are in the most beautiful area of Tuscany (in my opinion). You'll need a car but honestly the signs are very good and the major cities are easy enough to find using the road signs.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia and Poggibonsi (the nearest train station should you not want to drive into Florence for a day trip) - both towns had everything you could possibly want.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring bug spray if you're staying in July. I was in Tuscany years ago, in October, and didn't notice mosquitos that time of year so perhaps this is just an issue in the summer.
Directions:
The GPS coordinates work perfectly.
Check In Out:
It was all very easy and smooth.

Marissa, July

Overall:
The experience matched up to what we were looking for and was correctly represented on RentVillas.com
Enjoyed Most:
The countryside and owners were very friendly
Nearby Events or Locales:
Not really, but that didn't matter as we had a car.
Tips or Restaurants:
Swimming pool towels!
Directions:
Always use GPS.
Check In Out:
It was great.

Fiona, July

Overall:
The best experience I've had while traveling!
Enjoyed Most:
The location was great, easy to find and use as a starting point for day trips. Well kept and very clean!
Enjoyed Least:
I can't think of anything, it more than met my expectations.
Surrounding Area:
Very laid back and welcoming.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia, yes--you could walk there.
Tips or Restaurants:
Be prepared to laugh and drink and fall in love with this place!
Directions:
We did stop to ask for directions, but if we had just kept going we would have found it just fine.
Check In Out:
We wished we didn't have to check out!

Lyndsey , June

Overall:
We loved this property. It was beautifully situated and maintained. Claudia and Rudi were very hospitable, making sure our stay was all we hoped for.
Enjoyed Most:
The view. It was centrally located making it easy to travel to Florence, Siena, and various medieval towns. Again, we felt very welcomed.
Surrounding Area:
The beauty of the landscape. The Chianti region. The ease of travel and the comfortable return to the villa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia. Yes, one could walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
Claudia was helpful about local restaurants. GPS with Italian maps very helpful. The guide from Italia Roadrunners was also very helpful.
Directions:
GPS very helpful. It would have been better to fly into Florence rather than Rome.
Check In Out:
Very easy. No problems--just have a copy of your passports.

Jane, May

Overall:
We had a wonderful time. Claudia and Rudy couldn't be lovelier and more accommodating. The apartment was well kept and well equipped. The location was very central. We felt very much at home.
Enjoyed Most:
The views were magnificent, the sitting areas were conducive to relaxing, and the farm made it interesting. Since they make olive oil and wine we were free to take these products any time (they were reasonably priced) and pay later.
Surrounding Area:
The hill towns were great to visit, the scenery was magnificent, the roads were fun to drive.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montebello was the nearest medieval town, about 10 minutes drive. Staggia was the nearest town, which was a couple of kilometers away.
Tips or Restaurants:
Everything is supplied. Claudia is very knowledgable about the area and restaurants.
Directions:
We used a GPS but when we arrived in Staggia we needed to use your directions to get to the place.
Check In Out:
We felt like we were coming to family. It was great. Claudia even took us to our apartment and showed us how to work everything. She was always available.

Andrea, May

Overall:
We loved Tuscany! The farmhouse was charming and the personal attention we received was exceptional! It was so relaxing after spending time visiting the surrounding hill towns to return to the farm and sit outdoors with a glass of wine. We wish we had stayed longer.
Enjoyed Most:
We appreciated the personal treatment from our property hosts, Claudia and Rudi. They made us feel at home and treated us like family. The last evening we were there, they treated the guests (10 of us) to a meal under the pavilion with an outdoor fire. The property was so well maintained, but it was the personal touch that I will treasure the most.
Enjoyed Least:
We were satisfied with the property overall. They were out of their own olive oil at the time we visited - all sold out - but other than that, the property was the best part of our Italy trip.
Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed being able to visit the surrounding hill towns as day trips. The drives between the towns were scenic and not difficult to navigate.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia was the the nearest town - it could be walked (long walk), but safer by car. The other town was Poggibonsi where there is both bus and train service to Florence. However, for travelers to Florence, it is best to stay in Florence a couple nights to really see the sights. We did one day trip to Florence. Siena is also nearby but we did not get to visit before departing for Cinque Terre.
Tips or Restaurants:
We flew into Rome airport and rented a car to drive to the property. We had reviewed road maps before our trip (Google Maps) and also had our personal GPS. The drive was not difficult but my suggestion is to prepare and be familiar with roads before you go to Italy. With careful study and GPS it was not hard to navigate and having the car worked out well for visiting the surrounding hill towns. The property was well-stocked with dishes, dishwasher, cooking utensils, and washing machine. The wine room was stocked with both wine and bottled water. No breakfast is served so if you arrive on a Sunday as we did, you may want to bring along some cereal bars until you can go to the local market. Both Poggibonsi and Staggia have food markets available.
Directions:
We used our own personal GPS and followed the first part of the directions given to us but exited at Valdchiana and followed the scenic route (SS326) to the property without any issues.
Check In Out:
There was always someone available so no issues at all with check in or out. We received a statement of our visit showing us paid in full when we left the property.

Linda, October

Overall:
We could not have asked for a better experience! It was far more than I expected! We arrived on our anniversary and were warmly welcomed. One of the two children staying there had his birthday the same day. Claudia said she planned a celebration for him the next night and everyone was invited. It was like dinner with the family! She prepared a lovely meal for us and a cake for Dillon. The view was amazing! We slept with no A/C and loved it. Claudia suggested that we visit Siena and what a treat. The cathedral was an incredible study in art. The interior and exterior was so lovely and it was not so crowded that we could take our time and really look at everything.
Enjoyed Most:
I would have to start with the view but the warmth of Claudia and Rudy runs a very close second. It was so nice to sleep with the windows open and feel the lovely breeze and smell thr fresh air!
Enjoyed Least:
I cannot think of one thing I did not like! The shower was a little small but not really all that bad. Our room was perfect!
Surrounding Area:
We visited Siena, Poggibonsi, and Florence. It was all just wonderful. As I said, the cathedral in Siena was one of our best experiences. Florence was great! Just not nearly enough time to see everything! The entire area was beautiful and we had one of the best meals of our trip in Staggia!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia was close and I guess you could walk, although we did not try.
Tips or Restaurants:
Be sure to bring power converters and plugs wherever you go in Europe and be sure any electronics fit into them! Bring wash clothes since none of the places we stayed in Scotland, France, Switzerland or Italy provide them.
Directions:
Used the GPS and called Claudia for final directions since we arrived after dark.

Nora, September

Overall:
Our experience was truly excellent. The owners were great, and even hosted a birthday party dinner for everyone in the villa on my wife's birthday. We met very interesting people from all over during our stay who were also guests at the villa. The location was excellent for day trips out to the beautiful Tuscan towns and villages, and close enough for us to have a great choice of where we would dine in the evenings.
Enjoyed Most:
It is a very casual environment and the owners are very helpful. I asked if one of the family could give us a quick tour of the winery, and we ended up with half a dozen guests getting a visit and lesson in wine making just days prior to the harvest.
Surrounding Area:
Close by to Siena, Monteriggioni, Radda, and a number of other typically Tuscan towns. Each has a wonderful history, and are an opportunity to enjoy the great pace of Tuscan life.
Nearby Events or Locales:
There are a couple of small towns, but you could not safely walk to either of them. One is fairly close, perhaps a couple of miles, but on a winding road with no shoulder.
Tips or Restaurants:
The owners provide for everything that you will need short of food. There is a full sized Coop market close by that has everything and keeps full hours.
Directions:
One of the best things that you can do is to either get a GPS with your rental car, or to bring one with you. Getting around Tuscany is fairly easy, but finding things that are not in a town can get difficult. With the GPS it is easy to just enter the coordinates and follow the directions.
Check In Out:
The owners were on site the entire time that we were there, so it is very simple, and easy.

Alan, September

Overall:
We were in Italy for a month and our experience at Vecchio Borgo -Quercia was the "real Italy" as far as we were concerned. The views were spectacular, the service incredible, the peace and quiet fanatastic! We will be returning!
Enjoyed Most:
Claudia and her family made us feel welcome immediately! The grounds are gorgeous and well-maintained. The peacefulness and quiet allowed us to relax and enjoy our stay. The apartment was well-appointed and comfortable.
Enjoyed Least:
Everything was top-notch!
Surrounding Area:
This property is centrally located and allowed us easy access to the Tuscany region. The roads are not congested, there is a nearby rail station to go into Florence if you wish not to deal with parking issues there, and the beautiful, breathtaking hillsides are gorgeous.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia is the nearest small town, an easy walk if someone desired to do so. We chose to rent a car and drive to the nearby towns.
Tips or Restaurants:
Take Claudia's cooking class! We had a four hour, hands-on cooking class with an excellent instructor! We learned to make home-made pasta, sauce, bruschetta, and a delicious dessert.
Directions:
The directions were good but our Apple GPS certainly helped us with navigation.

Dennis, July

Overall:
We had a wonderful time, meeting all our expectations, and then some.
Enjoyed Most:
The beauty all around us. The views were spectacular and there were opportunities for walks in the fields which was wonderful when we didn't feel like touring. We also enjoyed the swimming pool. It is a property that is well-maintained, tidy, clean, and with excellent support from Claudia, helping in any way required.
Enjoyed Least:
It would be difficult to pick something that we didn't like. We liked everything about it! Maybe more comfortable furniture in the kitchen/living room.
Surrounding Area:
It was easy to get to wherever we wanted to go in the area, but in a peaceful setting.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia was the nearest town, but walking there would not be reccommended. The road is only 2 lanes and has no shoulder. All the roads are full of curves! It's Tuscany. The village was very handy by car. The Coop was okay for groceries, when it was open.
Tips or Restaurants:
I didn't bring a hairdryer and Claudia loaned me one. I would definitely bring the Ziplocks suggested by other guests in their reviews. I did and it helped with the leftovers. The restaurants were fine. Claudia can recommend some too. There were also no towels for the pool, but, again Claudia allowed us to take one towel from the bathroom.
Directions:
The GPS didn't help once we got to Staggia. The farm doesn't register on it. However, once on our way out of town, we saw the sign; it was very easy to locate as the signage is good.
Check In Out:
We were able to check out the evening before to make it less hectic in the morning. On our documents from RentVillas the checkout time was stated as 9:00 AM. We thought that was a bit early and Claudia said 10:00 AM was fine.

Vicky, June

Overall:
Wonderful. Such a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.
Enjoyed Most:
The authenticity and people. Great hosts and so relaxing.
Surrounding Area:
The beauty and culture.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia. Definitely could walk but would recommend driving.
Directions:
Used and GPS and coordinates and it worked perfectly.

Taylor, May

Overall:
All I had hoped for and more!!
Enjoyed Most:
The views and the owners.
Enjoyed Least:
There is no indoor area with WiFi signal except if you sit in the office area.
Surrounding Area:
Close to MANY cities for day trips. The nearby city of Staggia had all I needed.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia.
Directions:
Used a GPS but it still could not find the property. The written directions were a big help.

Jenny, May

Overall:
My husband and I have vowed to return to this property. We chose to stay here in the middle of our trip and it was perfect. We love to cook, and with their wine, olive oil, and the kitchen, we were able to cook some amazing meals. We were able to enjoy our food while overlooking the rolling hills of Tuscany. In the evening, we would grab a bottle of wine from the cellar and walk through the vineyard to watch the sunset. There is a great view of San Gimignano.
Enjoyed Most:
There are so many great things about this property. First off, the location is a wonderful starting-off point. We were able to travel easily by car to Siena, Cortona, and Florence. There are so many other places that you can easily get to. We are saving those for our next trip! The family that owns and runs the property is very helpful and friendly. The views are absolutely breathtaking!
Enjoyed Least:
We did not have enough time. We only stayed for 4 nights. Next time we hope to stay for a week.
Surrounding Area:
The whole region of Tuscany is wonderful. Staggia is a very small town, but you will find what you need. We drove to a super center in Poggibonsi to do our grocery shopping. It was a 10 minute drive and is equivalent to a Walmart Super Center.
Nearby Events or Locales:
It is probably a 15-minute walk into the town of Staggia.
Tips or Restaurants:
Renting a car is a MUST!! There is so much to see in Tuscany, you do not want to miss out. Make sure that you spend time exploring the vineyards and surrounding area. Make a meal and eat it outside...and be sure to use their tasty olive oil. We bought some before we left; we already have to order more!
Directions:
We used a GPS and it took us straight there.
Check In Out:
They are very flexible. We asked to check out a little later on our last day, and it was no problem.

Brandy, October

Overall:
This place is breathtaking! It has extraordinary views and was a very comfortable place to stay. We loved it!
Enjoyed Most:
We really liked the system in place for obtaining wine and oil from their cellar. It was open all the time and you just marked what you took. It was very convenient for us. We also loved that we could walk around the vineyards and that everyone was so friendly.
Surrounding Area:
The countryside was beautiful and there were small towns every few minutes along the road.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia is the nearest town. You probably could walk there but we took a car. It was about 5 minutes by car.
Tips or Restaurants:
Most things were provided. Even coffee and salt and pepper. I would bring Ziplock bags to put leftover food in if you cook or buy snacks. We went to a restaurant in a nearby town called Molino il Moro. It was some of the best food that we had while in Italy and in an amazing setting. The website is www.molinoilmoro.it. It is set in an old water mill, has great service and fantastic food! We also went to a restaurant about 3-4km away from the property that was recommended by Claudia and it was really good, too.
Directions:
We used the GPS coordinates that were provided and I honestly do not know if we would have found it otherwise. We both agree that a GPS is a must around this area and that it took a lot of stress out of the trip and out of the day trips as well.

Amber, September

Overall:
Great!
Enjoyed Most:
The central location.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful countryside.
Directions:
We did not use a GPS. We had no trouble finding the property.

Leah, September

Overall:
Romantic! We were included in a small tour group's wine tasting and wonderful gourmet lunch which included a tour of the wine making facilities.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved being able to walk through the vineyards during the evenings and enjoying a glass of wine on the veranda overlooking the surrounding valley. My wife appreciated the window view from the kitchen and the great grocery store nearby. The apartment itself has the unique Tuscan style and is extremely attractive. I appreciated the open access and honor system to the wine room.
Enjoyed Least:
Really nothing, but if we had been a few weeks later, the pool would have been open, which has a beautiful setting.
Surrounding Area:
We made day trips to many hill towns from our location. The book we received from Rentvillas, The Insider's Guide to Living Like a Local, was extremely helpful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia was a little over a mile away, but we opted to drive each time when visiting there.
Tips or Restaurants:
Shopping bags for groceries could be helpful. In Staggia we had two excellent meals at Trattoria Della Rana.
Directions:
We purchased a GPS in an electronics store at the airport and it was cheaper than renting one for the three weeks we were in Italy. Drivers cannot live without a GPS!

William, April

Overall:
We will recommend this property to our friends.
Enjoyed Most:
The peaceful, beautiful setting. The proximity of other Tuscan towns. The wine room - just mark what you get on a piece of paper and pay at check-out. The room was nicely decorated and had a warm, cozy feeling.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.
Surrounding Area:
Visiting the surrounding hill towns, not only the big towns, but the smaller, less known places.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring clothes that dry easily if you intend to wash, since line drying takes awhile. We enjoyed the trattoria Claudia recommended. Try the wild boar pasta- its fantastic and NOT gamey tasting.

Fred, October

Enjoyed Most:
The grounds.
Enjoyed Least:
Not easy to walk anywhere.
Surrounding Area:
Scenery.

Amy, August

Enjoyed Most:
This property offered everything necessary for a relaxing vacation. The property owners were so helpful and gracious, the cooking class fun and tasty. We would definitely return to this property. It is also centrally located for fun day trips. The property is very family friendly and they make the most wonderful olive oil and wine for purchase. What a gem!
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.
Surrounding Area:
Wonderful little hill top towns within 20 minutes - Volterra, San Gimignano and Siena to name a few.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia. Yes you can walk there but the road is dangerous.
Tips or Restaurants:
Any groceries you may need, the basics are there. We liked every restaurant we went to.

Kerri, May

Overall:
We spent a month in Italy, Greece and a little time in Turkey. My wife cried when we left this property, which was near the beginning of our trip and this is still her favorite place on this trip.
Enjoyed Most:
The property was incredible and beautiful. Views to die for and the most hospitable hosts that anyone could ask for. Centrally located for easy day trips. After every day trip we were happy to go back home. The wine and olive oil by the way were fantastic. We'll be back!
Enjoyed Least:
Leaving.
Surrounding Area:
Siena, Greve in Chianti, Panzano in Chianti, all an easy drive away
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia was a great little town with a new market.
Check In Out:
We were greeted like family!

Steve, August

Enjoyed Most:
The property was beautiful. The views of the Tuscan countryside were some of the prettiest in Tuscany. Also located at the villa was a tasting room for all the products that are produced on the property. The olive oil was the best I have ever tasted. It was like very good butter. All of the wine was good also.
Enjoyed Least:
The apartment we rented was the smallest of the apartments at the villa. The living area did not have a couch. The size of the apartment was fine. All the other apartments had couches.
Surrounding Area:
The property was centrally located to many sites we wanted to visit. It was a great base for all the day trips we enjoyed touring by car.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest small town is Staggia. It is in walking distance - a long one - but we always drove by car.
Tips or Restaurants:
There are many very good restaurants in the area. Claudia was very helpful in calling ahead for us to make reservations on days that reservations were needed. She also had many business cards and brochures for things to do in the area. If you plan to do much cooking at the villa, you need to visit either the grocery at Staggia or one a litter farther away at Poggibonsi. Some supplies were in the kitchen but not everything we needed.
Directions:
Before driving in Italy it is a very good idea to try to learn about the road signs. The directions seemed to be very confusing before we actually followed them, but when we really were in the act of following them, we had little trouble.

Connie, October

Overall:
Our stay was too short. Now that we have experienced many of the local towns I would like to go back and spend time at the villa and enjoy more of the property. The pool looked inviting but it was too cold to use.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the location of this property it was very close to many of the towns we wanted to visit. The owner was wonderful. Very knowledegable and always helpful. She let us sample her wine and oil that was to die for. It was all in all a wonderful experience. They were harvesting the grapes and it was just a sight to see.
Enjoyed Least:
This is not the fault of the property but Italy'....we got lost almost every time we tried to find our way back to the villa.
Surrounding Area:
It was so centrally located to many of the places we wanted to visit it worked out GREAT. There was a restaurant that the owner recommended in town that had great food.
Tips or Restaurants:
There really was no living room to this apartment. I was hoping for a couch to lie down on and watch some news at the end of a long day. Bring room in your suitcase for the wine and oil. It was worth carrying home.
Check In Out:
Check in was easy as was our check out.

Dina, September

Enjoyed Most:
Setting, view, perfect.
Enjoyed Least:

The pool and outside patio area were wonderful. It was quiet and seemed very much like home.

There was some construction going on at the time, but it was not too imposing.
Surrounding Area:
The location was wonderfully convenient to a number of tourist areas...Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Pisa, etc.

Future renters may want to bring a couple of large pool towels. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with cooking utensils.

Overall:
Exceeded our expectations - the grounds in particular were lovely, with lots of room and facilities (i.e. tables and chairs) for all 6 apartments.
Enjoyed Most:
The location (close to a number of towns we wanted to visit), the view (at the top of a hill), and the grounds as mentioned above. Also, the building had been restored very well, and had very modern kitchen and bathroom facilities.
Enjoyed Least:
The sitting area part of the one-room kitchen/dining room/sitting room was not very comfortable, and reading light was poor.
Tips or Restaurants:
We went to Babette's Restaurant 3 times, as the food was so good (specialty was seafood).

Overall:
The villa is up on a hill and the view is amazing. Our apartment had many windows and we loved looking out into the countryside. Also, the gardens were very beautiful and walking or jogging through the vineyards was terrific. Pool was beautiful to sit by and the cats which kept us company during our out-of-doors meals were very sweet.
Enjoyed Most:
The location on a hill, the gardens, the pool. The bathroom and bedroom were also quite well appointed.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen and sitting area in our apartment was small, but it was fine for the two of us and we spent time outside on the patio.
Surrounding Area:
Too many things to list! We loved horseback riding through a nearby vineyard. Siena is amazing (amazing town with great dessert wine - vin santo) as well as San Gimignano and Montalcino (amazing wine - Brunello). Tuscany is breathtaking! The food and wine are superior, the people wonderful and the towns charming.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We wnet to an antique fair in Arezzo which is the first weekend of every month. If you like antiques, it's not to be missed. Also, we loved shopping at the coop in Poggibonsi - great, interesting shoes at incredible prices.
Tips or Restaurants:
Truly, everywhere we ate, we liked. All the wine was amazing. We particularly liked the wine offered at the villa as well as in Montalchino (town in the South of Tuscany). I do not recommend driving in Florence from Tuscany. It's too difficult to park. If possible come to Florence a few days earlier and stay in Florence which by foot is an amazing city - more art per square inch than anywhere else. Driving in Italy is not to missed - crazy but fun!
