Customer Reviews

Enjoyed Most:
Adequate space for a large group - wonderful views and ability to walk around. The manager at the reception was wonderful, efficient and accommodating.
Enjoyed Least:
Kitchens too small - not enough equipment. Washer and dryer takes ages to complete a cycle. Editor's Note: By U.S. standards, the Italian kitchens are generally small, and the washers and dryers do take longer to complete cycles, due to their energry efficient designs.
Surrounding Area:
Close proximity to Pisa, Lucca and the Florence.
Directions:
We had a driver.

Overall:
The villa is well worth the money!! A great day trip is to the town of Montecantini Terme Alto was a great day trip. When you get into town head for Alto which is the mountain top. Drive up as far as you are allowed with your car, then walk up into the churches and the town --its incredible.
Enjoyed Most:
The villa was really beautiful there were 16 of us, yet we still had enough space for privacy. Having a pool was great. Location was perfect. 30 minutes from the airport -once you find the FI-PI-LI, it's very direct. Conducive for days trips and then at the end of the day you come home to a comfortable roomy home with all the amenities.
Enjoyed Least:
There was a barking dog barking right out the back yard. There is a working construction-dirt moving site right below the back yard and the trucks beeping goes all day long. The noise from the site is annoying. But you get used to it. It wasn't bothersome enough to keep me away for the next visit!!
Surrounding Area:
Very close to the FI-PI-LI and major roadways-- plus you have the option of taking the smaller countryside road to same destinations if you choose. It is for the most part -- very peaceful. The restaurants referred by property manager were outstanding. They are within 5 -8 miles from Villa, but be prepared to learn some Italian. The menus are not in English.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We went into Pontedera almost every day -- The Panorama is the very best food store that also has a "Kmart" attached to it. You can get everything you need there. In the center called centre commercial of Pontedera are awesome shops, cafes and the train station where you can buy tickets to Rome, Florence, Venice.
Tips or Restaurants:
First -- Internet service is 16 Euros per week just to turn on -- than its .50 per minute of use. It was not explained and not understood in the brochure that you are given from the reception. When we checked out it was a $500 bill. Research your day trips carefully -- its easy to get lost. The roads are very confusing. You must get to Florence to catch the "EuroStar Fast train" to get to all major cities Rome, Venice. Just bring plenty of "converters" for your appliances -- cameras, cell phones, straighteners, computers -- we all fought over the converters each day.

Overall:
The estate was very beautiful with the attached wild areas. Everyone treated us very well, and when we had a request it was taken care of quickly. I was especially impressed with the central location of the property and the ease to travel to so many places nearby.
Enjoyed Most:
We enjoyed the pool and the outside BBQ. I also enjoyed picking figs for breakfast.
Enjoyed Least:
Barking dogs all night. It would have been nice to have had an English Channel on the TV. Two-hour washing machine cycles.
Surrounding Area:
Tuscany is so beautiful and we were right in the middle of it. We all enjoyed the proximity to Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Pontederea, San Gimignano, Siena, and the coast.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Cappone was the closest town and it would have been a long walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring wash cloths. Bring insect repellant, We found two great restaurants - one in Montopoli and one right below our Villa.
Directions:
It was hard for us to find our way to the Villa at first. Once we got layout it was fine.
Check In Out:
It went just fine.

Overall:
Fabulous!!! Would highly recommend!!!
Enjoyed Most:
The location was nice and secluded, with beautiful views from every area. The staff was available and very willing to help with any matter at any time. Excellent location for day trips
Enjoyed Least:
A nearby restaurant below the property was somewhat noisy on a few nights..primarily weekend nights.
Surrounding Area:
The accessibility to so many places. The countryside was stunning.
Nearby Events or Locales:
No, not within walking distance but easily accessed by car. One small town was 3-4 km and a larger town, Pontedera was 7 km..easy drive
Tips or Restaurants:
At Dolce and Gabbanna, we needed to bring nothing other than food and personal items. Towels were provided and changed regularly. and pool towels were provided, as well. We were warned about bugs and were prepared with bug repellent, but did not need any.
Directions:
The name "superstrada" was used on the directions. This is actually marked on the road as the 'Fi-Pi-Li'. Although we had no trouble, I can see how this might be confusing.
Check In Out:
We were greeted warmly and promptly. The villa walk through was through and concise. The check out process was smooth and quick. A highly organized staff.
