Customer Reviews

Overall:
Pure heaven! The place was beautifully restored and decorated, the setting was perfect, the staff were incredibly helpful and nice. We couldn't have asked for a lovelier place to stay.
Enjoyed Most:
The setting, the staff, the pool.
Enjoyed Least:
Everything was wonderful!
Surrounding Area:
Everything! The wine, the olives, the views, the food, the history.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Bargino. Within walking distance if you are energetic, and don't mind walking back up the very steep hill to the property!
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring mosquito repellent! (No screens on the windows.) Nello in San Casciano was a very pleasant spot for dinner. We also really enjoyed Da Bule in Bargino.
Directions:
We used GPS, and had absolutely no difficulty whatsoever in finding the property.
Check In Out:
The ladies in the reception area were incredibly friendly, helpful, and nice. Check in/Check out was a breeze!

Dana, September

Overall:
Wonderful!
Enjoyed Most:
Everything...the hosts were great, and the facility top of the line for its style.
Surrounding Area:
Beautful views and villages. Lots of good restaurants.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Bargino; about 3 kilometers downhill--not within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Excellent restaurants in Bargino and San Casciano. Bring a bathing suit.
Directions:
Directions were excellent, and GPS worked well.
Check In Out:
Smooth and friendly...the concierge people speak excellent English.

Richard, September

Overall:
Fantastic!
Enjoyed Most:
The view, flowers, scenery, and pool.
Enjoyed Least:
Shower. I didn't know there was a dishwasher. We couldn't figure out how to work it, even though we followed the instructions
Tips or Restaurants:
No, the instructions mentioned everything we needed.
Directions:
Used GPS and I don't think we had any problems finding it.

Cathleen, June

Overall:
The accomodations were lovely. The staff were friendly and wonderful. The views were spectacular. The days and evenings were quiet, allowing for peaceful enjoyment of the premises.
Enjoyed Most:
The setting. Living in a refurbished medieval farm house that is part of a small castle estate was magnificent.
Enjoyed Least:
The mosquitoes--they came out in the evening and visited all night in the living room.
Surrounding Area:
The quaint villages where we could shop and buy groceries at the local markets. A hot air balloon ride is available in the local area and we enjoyed the 10-12 kilometer morning ride.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Bargino is 2-kilometers away. The terrain is steep, but if someone wanted to walk they certainly could.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring insect repellent and cream to take away the sting of bug bites. If you like washcloths, bring them. European accommodations don't provide them. Yes, there are several good restaurants in the area.
Directions:
No, I didn't use a GPS, but the directions Rentvillas provided were accurate and detailed.
Check In Out:
There seems to always be someone in the office during normal business hours and the staff speaks English well.

Overall:
The villa and the surrounding area were absolutely beautiful!
Enjoyed Most:
The views were spectacular!
Surrounding Area:
The whole area was gorgeous.
Tips or Restaurants:
The women that work at the reception have all great restaurant suggestions.
Directions:
Yes, we did use a GPS and I strongly recommend using one.

Louise, October

Overall:
Fantastic. Just as we hoped Tuscany would be.
Enjoyed Most:
View from Bedroom.
Enjoyed Least:
Hard to say, lack of a shower curtain takes some getting used to, but seems common for the area.
Surrounding Area:
Everything!
Tips or Restaurants:
Do your grocery shopping before arriving. Bargino Market never seemed to be open. Market in San Casciano, was hard to find. Great little restaurant in Bargino.
Directions:
Used street address in GPS. no problem at all.

Robert, October

Overall:
Excellent. It was exactly what we had hoped for. I can't imagine anywhere else meeting the needs of our stay better.
Enjoyed Most:
The beauty and seclusion.
Enjoyed Least:
The drive up was a little scary at first.
Surrounding Area:
Vineyards, olive groves, castles, hills as far as the eye can see. Plus, near tons of tiny local towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montefiridoli -- I guess it depends on what kind of a walker you are. We rode bikes there.
Tips or Restaurants:
As others have said, bring mosquito repellent. It doesn't matter what time of year it is. Mopsquitoes love the taste of foreign blood! Also, Florence is nice, but if you're going to travel around, check out all the tiny little towns in the nearby area. They're fun, authentic and the wine's a lot cheaper.
Directions:
We just used Google map and didn't get lost at all.
Check In Out:
Very easy. No issues whatsoever.

Brian, November

Overall:
Nothing! Just GO VISIT TUSCANY!
Enjoyed Most:
It was unbelievably beautiful! The weather was gorgeous! It was close enough to the town and highway.
Enjoyed Least:
There were not many guests, but it was low season, and if you want peace and quiet, you couldn't ask for more
Surrounding Area:
The view from our bedroom was fantastic! There was a hammock hanging from two olive trees, and I enjoyed very much reading in the afternoon while on it.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Not walking distance, but good roads San Casciano in Val di Pesa
Tips or Restaurants:
All recommended restaurants were excellent. Particularly the Trattoria del Pesce in Bargino and Cantinella del Nonno in San Casciano. Bring a bathroom curtain and tacks if you don't want to flood the bathroom. Also, it was useful for us to bring some instant coffee for the first morning, although they can prepare breakfast for you if you want to. Cristiana, in the office was very helpful.
