Old dusty flower arrangements.

Marlynn, January

Overall:
Location of the property was excellent. Close to many attractions, shops, and restaurants
Enjoyed Most:
Location.
Enjoyed Least:
Although very nicely located, this property could use some refurbishing. In addition, we were not provided with sufficient linens to make up beds in the loft.
Surrounding Area:
Well-located for most most activities. Close to Piazza della Reppublica Square, a centre of good evening entertainment. Felt it was safe.
Tips or Restaurants:
Make sure you bring toilet paper. We were left with maybe 14 rolls in bathrooms
Directions:
A worker at the airport called the caretaker and assisted us with cab. Went well.
Check In Out:
I provided my credit card number for the check-out cleaning. I did not receive a receipt, and would have liked one.

Jill and Mark, May

Overall:
We had a wonderful time in Florence and the location and comfort of the apartment was the base for our experience.
Enjoyed Most:
Location and access to all we wanted to do.
Enjoyed Least:
The lofts have low ceilings but are still charming.
Surrounding Area:
Loved how people gave us directions by the number of minutes to walk. The apartment is right in the center of everything.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in the heart of the city. We took a bus tour up to small hill towns and enjoyed beautiful views of Florence. The location is close to the train station and we were easily able to do day trips out of Florence.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is a little restaurant just down a walkway at the end of the bridge with the shops, don't remember the name but it is a real find. Our best meal in the city. When you come to the end of the bridge take the walk down to a dark arch and it is on the left.
Directions:
We took a cab from the train station so it was easy to get there, after we were able to get around easily.
Check In Out:
It would be helpful to give the name for the door bell to reach the contact person. We were able to contact her by phone.

Elizabeth, March

Overall:
Excellent. The location is perfect.
Enjoyed Most:
Plenty of room and very convenient.

Paul, August

Overall:
Excellent.
Enjoyed Most:
The location is terrific. The apartment is very spacious. Bathrooms were excellent. We also enjoyed the loft areas. Nice to have the air conditioning. Claudia was also very welcoming and helpful.
Enjoyed Least:
Wished that it had a dryer or clothes line for drying clothes.
Surrounding Area:
Location.
Directions:
The directions given to the apartment in the written instructions were incorrect. Best directions would have described how to walk to the apartment from the bus station. To depart, we walked back to train station. It was far easier than trying to figure out which bus to take.
Check In Out:
Claudia was excellent. She also provided great information when we called her later with another question.

Lynn, August

Overall:
This property is located in the heart of the "walking only" area of Florence. You literally step out your door and can walk anywhere within a few minutes. The location is wonderful!
Enjoyed Most:
It's very nicely decorated and very clean and comfortable. The person that met us with the keys, Claudia, was exceptional! She gave us so many tips and what to do and see and spent time describing everything. I felt like I had met an old friend that wanted to ensure we had a great time in Florence. It's also owned by a multi-generation farming family that make wine and many other things. They offer you a terrific bottle of wine upon arrival!
Enjoyed Least:
I liked everything about the property!
Surrounding Area:
Everything is literally right out your door and you don't have to worry about traffic. Only taxis and service vehicles are allowed in the area. The museums are just minutes away and there are fabulous restaurants nearby.
Nearby Events or Locales:
You are in the heart of Florence. It doesn't get much better than that!
Tips or Restaurants:
What we found throughout our trip was that if you venture off onto some of the smaller streets you are more likely to find great restaurants. Stay away from the ones right on the piazzas! They are overpriced and the food is average.
Directions:
You have to take a taxi into the area.
Check In Out:
Again, Claudia was amazing! She made this process very easy and there was no stress at all about getting there at a certain time. She was very accommodating.

Liz, July

Overall:
The apartment was wonderful! The location was fantastic, right in the center of the fashion district, a block from the Duomo, and steps from tons of fabulous restaurants!
Enjoyed Most:
The apartment was beautiful. The big living room window was fun to hang out of and watch the scene below. The kitchen, though very small, had enough to keep us cooking lots of wonderful Italian meals. The bedrooms were on the large side, and the beds were comfortable.
Enjoyed Least:
For us plugged-in Americans, having no access to Internet was difficult.
Surrounding Area:
It was great being so very close to all that is fun and exciting for visitors to Florence.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring comfortable shoes!!! You'll love Florence so much, you'll be walking everywhere!

Abra, June

Overall:
We had a wonderful time in Florence, in part because of the location and comfort of the property. We were in the heart of the city, one block behind the Piazza della Republica. From the piazza we had only to turn left and get to the Piazza della Signoria and the Ponte Vecchio. Turning right, we ended up at the Duomo and a little farther on San Lorenzo and the market. It is truly a perfect place to stay in Florence.
Enjoyed Most:
The apartment was very relaxing--a perfect place to return to after a day of sightseeing and museum hopping. Just as important was the ease with which we could pop in during the day to drop off purchases, have a quick lunch, or just rest a little.
Enjoyed Least:
The views weren't all that wonderful, but then again, the central location was more than a trade-off.
Tips or Restaurants:
Oddly, the apartment didn't have a wine opener, so be sure to bring one of those. There are so many great restaurants nearby that I can't even begin to list them. I would highly recommend a trip to the Central Market. What a wonderful place, but it closes early 2:00ish.
Check In Out:
The key holder is a wonderful person.

Catharine, March

Overall:
Good. We loved the location.
Enjoyed Most:
It was quiet and clean.
Enjoyed Least:
The living-dining room space was crowded.
Surrounding Area:
It was close to the major sites, and we could walk to each with our children very easily.
Tips or Restaurants:
We had three people with gluten sensitivity and we found a pizza place behind the Duomo that has a gluten-free menu!

Lora, July

Overall:
Overall, a wonderful experience in a charming apartment, in a great location.
Enjoyed Most:
A fantastic location in the heart of Florence.
Enjoyed Least:
Really not much of a view from inside the apartment.
Surrounding Area:
Everything! Near all the major sights, stores, and transportation. Despite being in the middle of all the action, the apartment was remarkably quiet.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Right in the heart of Florence -- no need to wander too far.
Tips or Restaurants:
As per the apartment manager, we took the sightseeing hop-on hop-off bus tour of Firenze, and had a wonderful time, especially during the route to Fiesole.
Directions:
Taxi from the railway worked out great.
Check In Out:
Very personable and warm!

Michael, May

Overall:
We were very relieved that the apartment accommodated all 9 of us easily and that the location was so perfect.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was very central and easy to find.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen was small to make a meal for so many people, but ultimately had everything we needed.
Surrounding Area:
Shopping and tourist sites were all within easy walking distance, as was the train station.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The apartment was in the heart of Florence.
Tips or Restaurants:
It would help to have a list of information at the apartment, like the location of the nearest grocery store, and self-service laundry facility.

Alyson, December

Overall:
Great, this was my second visit to this property.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, size.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.
Surrounding Area:
We love Florence and this property couldn't be in a better location. It is in the "Heart" of Florence, and everything is in walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Don't need to bring anything. Use Suzanne's list of recommended items to pack and you will be fine. Too many great restaurants to list, ask some of the locals for a recommendation.
Directions:
Very close location to the train station and the airport. I arrived in Florence by both methods and it is a short cab ride from the train station - we actually walked to the train station in 15 minutes. Also, a short cab ride in from the airport - 10 minutes.
Check In Out:
Make sure you have the contact phone number with you for the property manager as she lives out of Florence. I made the dumb mistake of leaving the number back home and when we arrived we had no way to contact her. Luckily for me Rentvillas opens early so I was able to call and get the phone number. It all worked out!

Ken, July

Overall:
The apartment was great! It has an excellent location. Could not be better. Everything is nice and clean. Tiny kitchen, but it works well. The key holder who meet us was absolutely fantastic. Super nice and helpful.
Enjoyed Most:
It is close to everything. Safe and clean.
Enjoyed Least:
It would be a really tight fit to sleep 9 people. There are 3 bedrooms, two of which have lofts with sleeper sofas. But, they are small and you can not stand upright in the lofts.
Surrounding Area:
It is beautiful. The neighboring piazza has many beautiful cafes and even a carousel that my kids loved. The Duomo is a block away and shopping is everywhere you turn.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is a supermarket down the street that has anything you want. We never used the tiny washer in the apartment. But, we found a great laundry through the piazza and down the street, open 24-7.
Check In Out:
The key holder, was absolutely great and so helpful.

Charlotte, July

Overall:
Perfect location and perfect set up to see Florence. Modern kitchen and baths enhanced our stay along with the Air conditioning. The level of accommodation was much like you would see in a very nice hotel.
Enjoyed Most:
Location.
Enjoyed Least:
The timed lighting in the hallway to get up the steps before it would go out. We discovered more outlets on each floor on our last day.
Surrounding Area:
Being in the midst of the Piazza.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is an American coffee maker. I brought Dunkin Donuts coffee and it was such a treat to drink a whole pot if we wanted to....
Directions:
In town, not needed. Taxi took us to our door.
Check In Out:
Claudia spoke very good English and was so helpful. This was critical since we were in an apartment building.

Mia, June

Overall:
We loved the location if this apartment! It was decorated beautifully.
Enjoyed Most:
The location and the apartment accommodated my entire party.
Enjoyed Least:
The washing machine did not work.
Surrounding Area:
Great eating, shopping and easy access to many sights.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We took day trips to Lucca,Pisa, and Chianti. We hired a private driver. We only walked in Florence.
Tips or Restaurants:
I would highly recommend the POM 613 Food Lovers Tour.
Directions:
We had a driver.
Check In Out:
It was wonderful to have Claudia meet us at the apartment. She helped us orient to the apartment light switches, air conditioning, door locks, etc.

Jennifer, May

Overall:
Excellent. Our Rentvillas Travel Advisor was very helpful in securing the property and making sure all details were handled. Claudia met us early to let us in, and had helpful hints about the area. She was flexible and professional. When I had questions about details of the layout, our Travel Advisor got me a prompt answer.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location! It was very clean and properly equipped. It was my first experience with Rentvillas, and I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to others. The apartment was well equipped with dishes, glasses, laundry soap, etc. It was nice to have a hairdryer, too. The map of Florence that was in the information book was helpful. It was fun to be able to all gather in the living room and plan the day or just visit.
Enjoyed Least:
In the morning when we all took showers, we ran short of hot water.
Surrounding Area:
The apartment was in the heart of Florence, near all major attractions and shopping. There was a coffee and gelato shop just outside our door. It seemed a safe area of town, and we felt very secure because of the locked door to the building and the secure lock on our own villa door.
Tips or Restaurants:
We brought extra toilet paper, though some was there when we arrived. We brought some bath soap, and that was handy, as well as our own shampoo.
Directions:
We took a taxi and had the address.
Check In Out:
We appreciated very much that Claudia met us one hour early for check in. Also, we left one day early, and she allowed us to leave the keys in the apartment so that we could catch our train on time. We appreciated the flexibility.

David R., March

Overall:
Overall very nice. A great value, especially compared to having to get 3-4 hotel rooms. We were a family group of 9. I would definitely stay there again.
Enjoyed Most:
Without a doubt, location!
Enjoyed Least:
Having only 2 bathrooms for 9 adults, but we managed well enough!
Surrounding Area:
The location is in the heart of Florence. Just the idea of being in the "birthplace" of the Renaissance was awesome. I am an art lover. Such great masters got started in Florence. We found many good restaurants nearby.
Tips or Restaurants:
Many good restaurants, and we enjoyed all of them. The kitchen was well stocked although we did little "cooking". You definitely don't need a car in Florence and I would never attempt to drive there. We live in a small town in Louisiana so we aren't good at driving in a place like Florence.
Directions:
We took the train from Rome and then cabs from the train station to the apartment which is not far, about 8-10 minutes.
Check In Out:
Claudia was awesome! She was very informative about some do's and don'ts, gave us many restaurant recommendations, and made us feel very "Welcome". She even gave me her cell phone and told me to call her if I had any questions or problems.

Ken, December

Overall:
Terrific.
Enjoyed Most:
The size and comfort of the property, and the location was fantastic.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing. It was exactly what we wanted.
Surrounding Area:
Everything. We were in the middle of Florence, and everything we wanted to see was within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
There was nothing missing. English renters might want a teapot.
Check In Out:
The manager was waiting for us when we got there, and she had lots of helpful information.

joan, July

Overall:
Excellent. Location was perfect. Meeting with Claudia went smoothly, she was very helpful. The apartment itself was lovely, just like the photos, and a great size for our family of 5. 7 would have been comfortable too, but 9 people would be a bit crowded i think
Enjoyed Most:
Location location location. Right by Piazza del Repubblico, minutes from the Duomo and other major sights. Having a washing machine was great. AC was much appreciated.
Enjoyed Least:
The cookware - pots and pans - could have been a bit newer.
Tips or Restaurants:
We liked Baldovino Trattoria, close to Santa Croce. And "Nuti" pizza-pasta restaurant.
Directions:
we called Claudia and she gave us options for parking outside the city then getting a cab to save money. We'd already expected to park in the city and pay the garage costs, but we thought we'd try her suggestion. However, the parking lot she suggested was actually closed and the nearest one was much less convenient. We called and arranged to drive into the city anyway. Her directions from there were excellent. We parked as close as we could, then I walked across the square to meet her at the apartment. She then helped us navigate the one way street system to end up right outside the apartment for unloading. A garage then picked up our car. Editor's Note: We strongly advise that you not have a car while staying in Florence.

Louise, July

Overall:
We really enjoyed this property. We were three generations, seven people including 3 young children traveling together, and the space was perfect for us. The lofts provided enough room for everyone to spread out and have some privacy, while the living-dining area was comfortable for us to all spend time together. The apartment was elegantly decorated, clean and in excellent condition. Check in and out went very smoothly Claudia was very kind and helpful.
Enjoyed Most:
Fantastic location, right in the heart of Florence's pedestrian zone. All major sights, great dining and shopping were within a 5-10 minute walk, yet we were on a very quiet side street, so had no problem with noise. We also liked the layout, as previously mentioned. The air conditioning was much appreciated, as the weather was very hot during our stay.
Enjoyed Least:
The electrical system was a little overloaded, so the power went out a few times. Claudia had warned us this might happen, and told us how to turn the breakers back on, though, so it wasn't a big problem. We just had to be careful not to run too many appliances at once.
Surrounding Area:
Strolling down Via Ciazzuole. Catching glimpses of the beautiful Duomo and Campanile at every turn, as they were just a block away. Sampling all the gelato in the neighborhood. Trying all the great restaurants. Having everything within easy walking distance was really great.
Tips or Restaurants:
There was laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent and dish soap there already - probably left by previous guests. There were ample dishes and cooking supplies, including a drip coffee maker, panini grill-toaster, and gas range and oven. Claudia gave us some olive oil, but we had to buy salt, pepper and all other food. There is a grocery store about two blocks away on Via Studio which also sells household items. Ask Claudia where it is when you arrive. The only sunscreen we could find for our kids was at the farmacia and extremely expensive, so bring plenty from home. Favorite restaurants nearby: Ristorante Paoli, Ristorante Reppublica and Osteria del Porcellino. Also, just around the corner, on the main street, is a "self service" place that serves good take out already prepared - pasta and meat dishes. We used this option on nights when the kids needed a break from restaurant dining. We never found a gelateria we didn't like...

Rosemary, July

Overall:
There's only one word to express our experience at Loggia Reale -- it's WOW! When I read the reviews of our place I didn't believe them. Everything stated about this place was the truth. Claudia was such a big help to us. She recommended a place in town that is a show and dinner, which was lots of fun! Also, our Travel Advisor from Rentvillas had done an excellent in helping us find our apartment.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was fabulous!
Enjoyed Least:
There wasn't much a view from the apartment, but we didn't spend much time in there with so much of Florence to explore.
Surrounding Area:
There's SO much to see in Florence. We especially enjoyed a trip we took to the Verazzano winery.
Tips or Restaurants:
We highly recommend a wonderful restaurant called Vico del Carmine. Excellent pizza and prices were very reasonable. A short cab ride away - and during the weekends you should make reservations.

Donna, June

Overall:
The location is excellent and it was a wonderful stay.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was great and there was plenty of room for the four of us.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen stove shorted out the electricity every time you turned on a burner.
Surrounding Area:
All of the points of interest were within walking distance. Groceries were close as well as stores and restaurants.
Check In Out:
The keyholder was waiting for us and was very informative and helpful.

Michael , June

Overall:
Very good apartment for the 4 of us. We could have easily had 2 to 3 more people stay with us.
Enjoyed Most:
Location was absolutely wonderful. And the size of the apartment was a real plus.
Enjoyed Least:
The power kept tripping off when we lit the stove. The electrical ignitor had a short in it, but I believe that was being fixed on the day we left.
Surrounding Area:
You could walk in any direction and find shopping, sites to amaze you, and of course, the great restaurants.
Tips or Restaurants:
Take good walking shoes because you can walk almost anywhere in Florence. Take the red Hop-on-Hop-off bus to see all the area, including the fantastic Piazzale Michelangelo with its great views of Florence. While up there have lunch or dinner at Ristorante La Loggia, excellent food.
Directions:
The taxi driver knew exactly where to go.
Check In Out:
Claudia was great in showing us the apartment and giving us ideas where to buy food and where to eat. There is also a book with lots of information in the apartment.

Larry, June

Overall:
We had a very good time in this property.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was outstanding as all the major sites were within easy, short walking distance.
Enjoyed Least:
The lofts took a little getting used to.
Surrounding Area:
The property is behind the Savoy and Piazza de Republica so it was easy to find and centrally located.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The property is in the heart of Florence.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you have small children the lofts could be dangerous.

Katherine, March

Enjoyed Most:
The apartment was centrally located. Very clean, nicely decorated, very secure.
Enjoyed Least:
I don't think there was anything that I did not like about the property.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding area was excellent. You got the whole European experience.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We stayed in the area and every thing we saw was within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
We had everything we needed at this property, right down to the umbrellas which came in handy.
Check In Out:
Claudia was excellent and very helpful.

Jeanette , September

Overall:
Great property, right in the center.
Enjoyed Most:
Location.
Surrounding Area:
Restaurants, shopping and ease of access.

Glenn, July

Overall:
We'd definitely stay there again. It was perfect for our stay.
Enjoyed Most:
The apartment was clean, comfortable, and very centrally located. The gal who met us and got us into town and into the apartment was very helpful and sweet.

Lisa, July

Enjoyed Most:
Proximity to everything!
Enjoyed Least:
I thought the photos were somewhat misleading. I was dissaponted at first, but then found the apartment to be great.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you are a food and wine devotee you want to go to Ristorante Alle Murate. During renovations ruins were found. Now there is glass in the floor and you can eat in the "cave."

Stephen, May

Overall:
I would use Rentvillas.com again without question. I have already recommended your service to several of my friends.
Enjoyed Most:
The location is excellent and as we were traveling with my elderly father-in-law, and having a lift was a real treat. The apartment itself is beautiful with high ceilings, nice, period furniture and excellent amenities such as TV's in bedrooms and living room which we never turned on! I can't say enough about the service I received from my Rentvillas Travel Advisor. She has been most helpful and the property manager, Claudia, was prompt, informative and responsive. We also thought that the price for three bedrooms and two baths was quite reasonable.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.
Surrounding Area:
We were right in the heart of everything. Since there were five of us ranging in age from 13 to 73, we could plan our own time together and apart. I could walk across the Piazza for an espresso and my daughter for a gelato. We could also see all of the famous sights - all within walking distance. Perfect in every way.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in the heart of Florence--the pedestrian center, right by the Duomo.
Tips or Restaurants:
We did not have a bad meal the entire time we were in Italy. We asked around, spoke to locals, our property manager, etc.. For the most part we were never disappointed by the house wine.
Check In Out:
Since the property did not have anyone arriving, we were allowed to check out late and go directly to the train station rather than store our bags for the day. Knowing this made the night before we departed more like a vacation day rather than a packing day. We appreciated the flexibility.

Ross, April

Overall:
The apartment was quite nice, centrally located, very well maintained, very convenient for us. We loved it.
Enjoyed Most:
Great location
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing
