Customer Reviews

Overall:
The grounds were beautiful and we felt the villa was a good choice.
Enjoyed Most:
The gardens and the views were fantastic.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen floor could use a good scrubbing. We were also surprised to find how close the other villa was located (approximately 10 yards). There were insects.
Surrounding Area:
The homes by the villa were beautiful and the walk to the very small village was nice. The gardens around the villas is where I would stay most of the time, though. The pool was nice but it was too cold to swim.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Coreglia was the small town and easy to walk to if you don't mind a few small hills.
Tips or Restaurants:
Be sure to ask the caretaker about insects. Grillo restaurant is an easy walk and the pizza is great.
Directions:
We didn't have a GPS but if you have a map and the written directions from RentVillass you can find the place. It is really up a mountain with very curvy roads.
Check In Out:
Check-in was fine. We got there just when the caretaker, Anna Maria, arrived.

Overall:
Peaceful and relaxing, awe-inspiring views, lots of fun in the perfect pool.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool.
Enjoyed Least:
Mosquitoes...but there really weren't many.
Surrounding Area:
The natural beauty, and the quaint, ancient mountainside village.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Coreglia Antelminelli--it's a 12-minute stroll away from the villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring a paper map of the areas you want to visit by car. Our GPS failed us a couple of times.
Directions:
The provided directions were good, except that they were based on us leaving from Pisa. We were sent directions from Rome after I requested them, but we didn't get them until after we returned home. Still, we found the villa, no problem.

Overall:
We had a lovely stay at Villa della Corona! Thank you for all of your help in making our trip a smooth, relaxing and memorable one for my entire family.
Enjoyed Most:
The villa was beautiful in every imaginable way! From its gorgeous color schemes and antiques, it was exactly what I pictured an Italian villa in Tuscany to be!! The weather was perfect everyday, which allowed for great sightseeing all over, or simply sitting by the villa pool while looking out over the Alpi Apuane! Anna Maria and Enriquo were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating in every way!
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.

Overall:
We had a lovely time at the Villa and in Coreglia. It was a great family experience to be able to explore Italy and also come 'home' to our villa after each adventure.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the gardens were amazing! It was nice to be able to relax by the pool or play hide and seek in the gardens. We ate outside most every night with the Italian hillside as our backdrop. We were really in a slice of heaven!
Enjoyed Least:
Overall everything was just fine. We may have preferred a larger living space... but since we had the terrace and porch -- we just lived outside too!
Surrounding Area:
It was a great location to explore all the little hillside towns near us. We were also 40 minutes to the train station at Lucca -- so we were able to go everywhere we wanted to go in Italy.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Coreglia was a 15 minute walk up and down a few hills. It was fun each night to walk into town for some gelato and vino rosa.
Tips or Restaurants:
Barga was our favorite town by car nearby. A beautiful hilltop town with great restaurants and a few fun shops. The people were lovely.
Directions:
We used the directions AND our GPS system to find the property. It definitely helped to have both. The directions gave us landmarks so we knew we were going the right way... but the GPS ensured that we were!
Check In Out:
Anna Maria and Peter could not have been more kind and helpful. They were lovely.

Overall:
The villa is lovely, very Italian in style. The outside space is particularly good with ample seating and lounging and lovely pool in your own private area. The gardens shared with other properties are beautiful! The views superb.
Enjoyed Most:
The peace and quiet...
Enjoyed Least:
To get here and to see the lovely views you need to drive up a very scary hill road. It is very steep and narrow.
Surrounding Area:
It is very beautiful but we did not venture far.
Nearby Events or Locales:
You can walk downhill to the village in about 20 minutes. It is a hilly walk that children or older people may find difficult.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa is well equipped. The welcome basket of goodies is a lovely touch. The village has a couple of restaurants. We tried one that was OK, nothing special.
Check In Out:
The English speaking house rep met us and explained everything we needed to know.

Overall:
Our family of 6 truly enjoyed the villa and all of its amenities. The pool was perfect and really made the villa worth everything.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool, the grounds around the pool, the views, the house.
Enjoyed Least:
Small bedrooms and small bathrooms, smaller kitchen - maybe needing a few more cooking dishes.
Surrounding Area:
The gardens and the views were incredible.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Coreglia di Antemenelli - not within walking distance. Lucca di Barga was also close and fun.
Tips or Restaurants:
Find restaurants off the beaten path through local books, and just exploring.
