Customer Reviews

Overall:
The property was better than we expected!! The house and the grounds were beautiful! All three families enjoyed spending time together in the shared areas and there was plenty of room for each family to have some privacy. The kitchen was outstanding! Jenni, the house manager, was very attentive and helpful. We had a wonderful experience!
Enjoyed Most:
The grounds, backyard.
Tips or Restaurants:
We went to many vineyards in the area, and although they were all great, our group liked the estate's own wine the BEST by far!! Order wine through the house manager so you have it during your stay.
Directions:
I wouldn't change a thing on the directions. They were detailed enough that we didn't need a GPS to get there.

Overall:
My family and I found the villa to be perfect for an extended family visit. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The pool area and patio were the scenes of family dinners and relaxing afternoons
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the opportunity to live in the countryside yet to have the typical amenities such as air conditioning and modern bathrooms Americans take for granted.
Enjoyed Least:
There was very little to dislike. One suggestion would be to improve the roadway entrance to the villa which is highly rutted and hard on autos.
Surrounding Area:
The natural scenery was profundly beautiful, the small towns quite attractive, and the villa was within reasonable driving distance of major tourist sites.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The smallest town was Palaia, followed by Forcoli. In the heat of the summer neither was within walking distance; it would be quite a hike to either regardless of the weather.
Tips or Restaurants:
I would suggest relying heavily upon the material forwarded via Rentvillas as all advice was quite helpful. I especially valued the pre-stocking of the kitchen as we arrived on Saturday after a lengthy transatlantic flight.
Directions:
We used GPS but the signage for the property entrance is very easy to miss. We spent a good 30 minutes driving up and down the same road before discovering the small sign for the villa.
Check In Out:
My family and I had an exceptional experience with Rentvillas and with Villa Stemma. I would not hesitate to do this again.

Overall:
It was all that we could have hoped for and more. The layout of bedrooms and bathrooms, the spacious living areas, the outdoor terrace and pool all combined to make this a memorable vacation for our family of twelve adults and children.
Enjoyed Most:
The villa was set up for really easy living. We did quite a bit of cooking and, after getting used to the stove, we turned out some gourmet feasts which we then enjoyed out on the terrace. We found ourselves lingering for an hour or more after dinner was over because we did not want to leave the peace and quiet of a Tuscan evening. Also, and this was very important to our group the beds are very, very comfy.
Enjoyed Least:
It would have been nice to be able to walk to a village. The roads are not conducive to strolling and the nearest village was too far for us to reach on foot.
Surrounding Area:
The postcard views! The charming villages in the hills.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Palaia was the closest tonw.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring non metric measuring cups and spoons. Rentvillas provides a good list of things most people will need. We really enjoyed a wonderful meal at I Secoli in Coleoli. We celebrated a birthday and we were treated wonderfully.

Overall:
This was our first time to rent a villa, and we were pleasantly surprised how nice this one was...very tastefully decorated and furnished! Fairly close to many attractions in Tuscany. Grocery store and train station 10 to 20 minutes away, respectfully. Keyholder, Jenni, was very friendly, professional, and helpful. She even gave us a tour of the larger villa and private chapel on the property, which are currently being restored.
Enjoyed Most:
This farmhouse was recently restored and remodeled and done in a very tasteful fashion. The photos on Rentvillas web site don't quite do it justice. We were concerned that the AC would not be adequate for a July-August stay, but there were plenty of units to keep the place cool 1 to 2 per room! The biggest bonus was the Limonaia house - it looked like something straight out of Architectural Digest and yet there are no pictures of it online. The layout was great, too The master bedroom is in one wing upstairs, and all other bedrooms are in the opposite wing, with one bedroom downstairs. Plenty of bathrooms, too.
Enjoyed Least:
Would like to see more "basics" included. After our initial supply was used up, we had to go running around Tuscany looking for toilet paper after hours. Washer-Dryer took a long time to run thru cycles, occasionally tripping breakers in the house. Could use a plug and more lighting around the pool area - one light was missing. Hot-Cold water temperature was a little erratic in master bath.
Surrounding Area:
The Villa is set on a huge piece of property high above a nearby small town, Forcoli, and the approach up to the property is gorgeous. The farmhouse is set far off the road, with a beautiful, private approach. Many tiny hilltop towns nearby to explore. The highlight for us were the drives to San Gimignano and Volterra.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Forcoli was the nearest town with a small grocery store. About a 5-10 minute drive. The only thing within walking distance was a small, family run bar, which was quite charming.
Tips or Restaurants:
A rental car is a must at this Villa, and most rental companies offer a GPS system for a small fee. In our case, we rented the "TomTom" system from Avis. This thing was worth its weight in gold and kept us from getting lost on numerous occasions. The property included a manual explaining how all the equipment works in the Villa, as well as a list of suggested restaurants in the area...we were pleased with each one we tried.
Directions:
Get a GPS system.
