Overall:
It was awesome! And meeting Elizabeth and Adi, the owners, was a highlight! Loved them and hiking all over the property!
Enjoyed Most:
We loved everything!
Enjoyed Least:
Initially the elaborate recycle process was a little daunting but we adapted and felt good about helping the planet. The WiFi was also a little challenging with so many of us on computers, laptops and devices!
Surrounding Area:
The view was amazing! The hikes were splendid!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Sciano. Great pizza at Marino's. And yes my husband and I could have easily walked it but roads are narrow with no shoulder.
Tips or Restaurants:
Mssrs Boccaccio in Certaldo Alto was great! So was Antica Fonte . Marino's in Sciano was a regular hang out for all of us!
Directions:
We used GPS and still had an issue but only because the driveway is kind of hidden from the direction we came in and there are no numbers on the "street." But once we turned around we found it.
Check In Out:
Check in/check out was very efficient.

Overall:
Excellent! We were delighted with the property and sights both close by and farther away.
Enjoyed Most:
We so enjoyed everything about the property from waking up in the morning seeing a beautiful view from our bedroom to sitting outside on our beautiful verandas in the late evening planning our next day. The owners were lovely and we so enjoyed the tour they gave us of their property--so interesting!
Surrounding Area:
Certaldo Alto was a treat and local treasure. The vineyards around the property, everything was lovely.
Nearby Events or Locales:
It was not in walking distance but some of us bicycled to town daily.
Tips or Restaurants:
All the restaurants were great - all offered dishes that were unique and not repetitive everywhere we went. There were no bad experiences anywhere we ate.
Directions:
Our party arrived in various cities--Rome, Venice, Florence--we all found the villa no problem. The directions were perfect!
Check In Out:
Elizabeth was wonderful and welcoming. We were so grateful for the welcome and hospitality. A huge pleasure!

Overall:
My family and I had such a wonderful time. We traveled with our 1.5 yr old son. Everything he needed was provided, including high-chair, crib, toys, dishes and cutlery. We didn't need to bring a anything for him. He loved the outdoor space, the pool. We loved the view and the peace and quiet. The villa was clean and well kept. The owners were friendly and helpful.
Enjoyed Most:
The location. It was so close to a town, with a grocery store and train station and close to some major destinations. I also loved the scenery. I just loved everything about it.
Surrounding Area:
I loved that we were so close to towns, grocery stores, train stations.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest town was Certaldo. It was not within walking distance, but it didn't matter because we rented a car.
Tips or Restaurants:
The owner had some really good suggestions for restaurants. All were fabulous.
Directions:
It was relatively easy with a GPS. We probably would not have found it any other way.
Check In Out:
All was great.

Dannielle, September

Overall:
We all loved the villa and the beautiful view. The young people loved both pools and we adults couldn't stay away from the porch and that view. I even loved watching the farmer on his tractor tending his vineyards! We were all very comfortable lounging at night in the living room after we cooked a delicious meal in the well appointed kitchen. Just loved it all!
Enjoyed Most:
Everything! Even wanted to take home the beautiful, locally made pottery lamps!
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing, well maybe the Italian country roads.
Surrounding Area:
The views of the valleys. The local wines. The small towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Certaldo is the nearest town but not within walking distance, but only because of the narrow roads.
Tips or Restaurants:
Elizabeth, our host, has thought of everything. We cooked most nights and found everything we needed. I brought a lot of things with me that RentVillas suggested, and we didn't need any of it. There was even a medical kit in the villa. All our needs we taken care of!
Directions:
We used GPS.
Check In Out:
Check in and out was flawless. We arrived an hour early and left a day early. Elizabeth accommodated all our needs.

Overall:
We had a wonderful time at Tenuta dell'Anima. The house was very beautiful, yet comfortable.
Enjoyed Most:
The views from the porch.
Enjoyed Least:
The appliances were a bit challenging to operate!
Surrounding Area:
The property is in close proximity to Florence, Siena, Lucca and many other beautiful towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Poggibonsi and Certaldo were the nearest towns. Neither were in walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Most of the articles people suggested to bring were not necessary. Adapters, sponges were the two things that came in handy.
Directions:
We used a GPS which came with the rental car. We had no problems getting to the house initially, but we did have some challenges later in the trip due to some new highways. I would recommend having a map on hand for times when the GPS gets confused by new roads.
Check In Out:
Check in and out we're very easy as the owners live on the property. They were very accommodating and gracious hosts.

Kathleen, August

Enjoyed Most:
Your kind hospitality! We spent a lot of time at the pools which was amazing with the wonderful views behind them.
Surrounding Area:
It was beautiful and easy to find our way around
Nearby Events or Locales:
We would drive, but it was a close distance just to go for food and such.

Meredith, August

Overall:
Very peaceful.
Enjoyed Most:
Everything!
Surrounding Area:
Scenery and proximity to delightful hill towns. Easy to take the train from Certaldo to Florence.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Certaldo and Poggibonsi were an easy drive to get groceries. No town within walking distance.

Carolyn, September

Overall:
Wonderful.
Enjoyed Most:
The view.
Enjoyed Least:
Needing a car, even though we took the train for day trips.
Surrounding Area:
Certaldo Alto was a surprise and wonderful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Nothing was walking distance, although we did walk to Scione and then called a taxi to get back to the villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
Certaldo and most small towns in Italy shut down from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, so go shopping early or late; there's nothing going on in this area during these hours.

Karen, June

Overall:
It was extremely comfortable, with all the necessary appliances. The owners are lovely people, who are always available to help. The view of the country side from the dinning room is breathtaking....It was one of the loveliest experiences of my life.
Enjoyed Most:
The view, the comfort of home, Internet service, private bathrooms for every bedroom. Large refrigerator, washer and dryer, privacy. Having the owner close by to advise and direct us to special sites.
Enjoyed Least:
Needed a car to get to Certaldo. I thought it would be close to a grocery store and train station. I actually thought we were going to be in Certaldo, not Sciano. Very hot during the month of July, although there were fans throughout the house, it was definitely hot...
Surrounding Area:
Certaldo was the closest town, great restaurants, train stations which was easy access to major cities. Coop which is a large grocery store selling every thing from homemade pasta, breads, cheese, wine and liquors...Lots of American products also...
Nearby Events or Locales:
Definitely need a car. Once in Certaldo, the train station was convenient to take you to all the major cities, Siena, Florence, Empoli, Rome, Venice, Lucca, and Pisa.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa is pretty well stocked with everything you need. I brought a lot from home which we did not need. You can bring some CD's if you prefer certain music. Lots of restaurants. Latini, was one of our favorites, also LaSaletta in Certaldo, Osteria dei Cavalieri in Pisa was also a favorite. Lots of great Pizza and Gelato in San Gimignano which is close by, but you need a car.
Directions:
Yes, we used a GPS, and also needed help from the local Pizza restaurant owner, who eventually took us there.
Check In Out:
All went very smoothly.

Florence, August

Overall:
All 8 of us had a wonderful stay at a wonderful property!
Enjoyed Most:
Great location. The owner was wonderful, very helpful and very attentive. Both homes were extremely comfortable and had everything from hairdryers in every bathroom to VCR's, coffee machines, fire wood, washers dryers, detergent, coffee and on and on!
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing
Surrounding Area:
Easy train access from Certaldo to Florence, close driving proximity to Chianti area, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra. Don't miss adorable Certaldo Alto. Two nice grocery stores PAM in Poggibonsi and COOP in Certaldo.
Directions:
We followed the directions provided on the check-in documents... very good.
Check In Out:
The owner "oriented" us to both villas very well and was available during our entire stay for any questions or help.

Debra, May

Overall:
Fantastic!
Enjoyed Most:
The owner! She was very hospitable and always available to answer our questions. The villas are comfortably decorated with conveniences we Americans love and a number of personal touches.
Surrounding Area:
Its beauty. The villa was conveniently located for sightseeing outings.
> Tips or Restaurants:
The owner has a list of local restaurants - we enjoyed 3 of them. Since we understood all properties were self service, all the couples in our group arrived with rolls of toilet paper - none of which were needed. The owner also supplied detergent, dish washing soap and other items we thought we would have to purchase. Nice touches. If you rent, please bring her ziploc bags. You can't purchase them in Italy!
