Overall:
It was an amazing vacation with our family in this beautiful setting. Our host Leonardo was extremely gracious and very accommodating.
Enjoyed Most:
It was very clean and well furnished and equipped. The view was breathtaking.
Surrounding Area:
The beauty and the tranquillity. The hospitality of our host.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lucolina. Not too bad. Should have been walkable although roads are too dangerous.
Tips or Restaurants:
Restaurant in Duda was very good.
Directions:
Directions were very good using GPS. All went so smoothly.
Check In Out:
Very accommodating! Thanks so much!

Diana, June

Overall:
Splendid.
Enjoyed Most:
Beautiful location in rolling hills with forests olive groves and vineyards.
Surrounding Area:
Reasonable drive to many historical and interetesting towns, also close to train station for day trip to Florence.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lucolena - walkable but narrow shoulders on roads not conducive to comfortable walking.
Tips or Restaurants:
Estate wine was excellent, take advantage of the on-site barbecue and wood fired pizza oven.
Directions:
Excellent as they are, both written and GPS Coordinates.
Check In Out:
Very pleasant and efficient.

Norm, June

Overall:
It was a wonderful villa set in the middle of the vineyard with olive trees surrounding the pool. The wine produced on the estate was also very good and you could purchase it from the stocked cabinet.
Enjoyed Most:
The setting. We would sit out on the deck and just absorb the overall beauty. It was very peaceful at night and there was not a sound until day break when the rooster would welcome the new day.
Surrounding Area:
The villa has a great location. One of the small, nearby towns is Greve in Chianti and others were only 15 minutes away by car. Then, within an hour, we visited the towns of Siena, San Gimignano, and Florence. Two hours away is the city of Bologna which is worth the trip!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Leonardo, the caretaker of the villa, made reservations for us our first night when we arrived in a general store. We were seated down in the the basement and we weren't quite sure what to expect but the local meal they prepared was great!
Tips or Restaurants:
GPS, GPS, GPS.
Directions:
Thank God we had the GPS. We had to enter the property's coordinates to find it and the turn is a sharp one off the road, but its worth the trip!
Check In Out:
That was fine; we left a day early and Leonardo was very accommodating.

Peter, September

Overall:
We had a great time, close to scenic towns and wineries.
Enjoyed Most:
Property was quiet, scenery fabulous, overlooking a valley full of vineyards and olive groves. Access to the outside pool and barbecue areas. Villa was very clean. Leonardo was very helpful on several occasions. You could call him anytime.
Enjoyed Least:
Kitchen was small and we were not really able to cook a large meal. But breakfast and lunch were no problem. We didn't want to cook anyway.
Surrounding Area:
Visiting wineries, towns of Figline, Greve. Attended the wine festival in Greve.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lucolena was closest town, not within walking distance although about 1 km. Roads do not accommodate pedestrians very well.
Tips or Restaurants:
You need a car. Rent a small car as the roads are full of very tight turns, hills and valleys. Roads in the small towns are very narrow, in some places I thought we were joining a family for dinner as the road was only a few feet from their front door.
Directions:
Used a GPS.
Check In Out:
Very fast, very efficient.

David, September

Overall:
My family had a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful and the location is wonderful for day trips.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool was wonderful, the view and the patio and wood stoves for cooking. It's hard to say what I liked most since it wall all wonderful.
Enjoyed Least:
If there was something we liked least it would have to be the television reception. We were there during the world cup and after day trips, the kids would have liked to watch the matches. The upside is that the poor reception did "force" us to go to local pizzerias and other locales to watch, which made the trip even better.
Surrounding Area:
The lush green landscapes, all the things to do in a very close area.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Dudda and Lucolena were the closest and we went to Dudda once and Lucolena a few times. They are both very short drives but not walking distance.

Mark, July

Overall:
Our overall experience was wonderful! It was private, clean, beautiful and centrally located.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was perfect.
Surrounding Area:
The scenery was spectacular.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lucolena was the nearest town. It isn't in walking distance so a car is a must.
Tips or Restaurants:
You will need to grocery shop before spending the night. The COOP is in town and is large.
Directions:
GPS
Check In Out:
Both went very well.

Doreen, November

Overall:
We were welcomed with open arms. Leonardo was there to check us in and provide us with a welcome package which included a bottle of wine. The information package included tour options, maps, phone numbers, which was all very helpful. He also made us reservations for dinner at the local restaurant for the first evening at our request.
Enjoyed Most:
The location, views, peace and quiet, pool--there wasn't anything not to like. The villa was very comfortable and was fully stocked from the kitchen supplies to the wine cabinet.
Surrounding Area:
The location was perfect for us. Filene was 10 minutes away which was where the train station was, and so we were in Florence in about 35 min. Also the Coop grocery store was fantastic and had everything we needed. We did day trips everyday from here as it was close to many sites. Siena is only 1.5 hours away.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Dudda was right down the hill, but not within walking distance. We ate at the local restaurant there about 3 or 4 times. Francesca made us feel right at home, the food was great and the prices were too.
Tips or Restaurants:
We read from previous renters to bring pool towels as none were provided and to have bug spray. The mosquitos weren't bad while we were there. The restaurant in Dudda is very nice and they will make you feel very welcome.
Directions:
The directions were spot on. We did use a GPS, but that was most helpful getting out of Rome and Siena.
Check In Out:
Check in was smooth. We had an early flight on Saturday. So Leonardo came up on Friday to check us out. He was very gracious, speaks great English and took us on a tour of the restored winery and told us the history of his family estate, all very interesting

Overall:
We loved our experience. I mention to all our friends and family that the villa was everything we expected and more.
Enjoyed Most:
The villa, located on the hillside overlooking the owners vineyard, was a beautiful setting. The property was private, well landscaped and very inviting. The pool was always clean and the lounge area was large, a short walk from the villa.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing. I loved the warm, welcome feeling we had each and every day of our stay. The weather was perfect during our stay to enjoy poolside or travel to other cities and explore.
Surrounding Area:
Close proximity to a large super market open on Sundays, only a 20 minute ride from the villa. The local restaurant in Dudda. The beautiful views from hills and valleys of the many vineyards.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Dudda No
Tips or Restaurants:
Just go and explore like we did. Ask the locals where they like to eat and you will usually find a great culinary experience.

Jennifer, July

Overall:
Excellent.
Enjoyed Most:
It was very clean and spacious. The owners provided tips when we arrived and got us oriented to the local area. The property is close to the train to Florence and it's only a 30-min train ride. There is a grocery store, etc. within 10 km of property.
Enjoyed Least:
No complaints. The bed and pillows were firm to people used to softer bedding, but they were fine.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful area. Unfortunately the weather did no allow us to fully enjoy the villa's facilities. The countryside was very hilly with windy roads, towns within an hour had a lot to offer, and had variation from one to another. A great location for a wine tasting tour and the villa offers a driver if needed.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Nearest small town was Lucolena or Dudda - neither within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Everything we needed was provided. You will need additional toilet paper and maybe paper towels beyond what was provided, and laundry soap.

Patricia, May

Overall:
We thought it was wonderful...so much better than the pictures could convey. Leonardo met us when we arrived and was so helpful. He provided us with all the information on the area, including the train schedule to and from Florence which is the best way to go when visiting there.
Enjoyed Most:
It was tucked away...some noise in the mornings from the people working on the vineyards, but otherwise very quite. Easy distance from Florence.
Enjoyed Least:
There wasn't anything I did not like about the property...I mean, the nearest town isn't within walking distance, but that really wasn't an issue for us.
Surrounding Area:
It is beautiful...there were a lot of little towns near by and Figline Valdarno where you can catch the train is really close.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lucolena...not really within walking distance...at least I would not have felt comfortable walking on the roads.
Tips or Restaurants:
Borgo Antico in Lucolena was fantastic!! Shop at the Coop in Figline Valdarno for groceries...EVERYTHING is close Sunday so make sure you shop for groceries on Saturday. Definitely bring spices, salt pepper etc., for cooking. The kitchen has all the cook supplies and dishes you need, but you do need the food, including the spices. We cooked dinner and breakfast nearly everyday while there. There is even a dishwasher. We also went to Vignamaggio for a tour of the winery...it was a wonderful experience!
Directions:
We used a GPS, but by the end we could find it without the GPS as well.

Michelle , October

Overall:
Great! Loved the central location, the view, the spacious bedrooms and the outdoor kitchen.
Enjoyed Most:
Common outdoor areas and views. The property is lovely and well manicured. The shared outdoor kitchen was perfect for grilling. It also had a wood-burning pizza oven that we gave a try. The washing machine was also a plus.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen was rather small as was the balcony, so it was impossible to have dinner on the patio, however you could use the common patio that was adjacent to the outdoor kitchen.
Surrounding Area:
The town of Figline has a very busy Coop grocery store that we stopped in often, however one morning we discovered the town also had an ancient wall and piazza. Inside the wall was a charming area filled with restaurants and shopping...and no tourists! It was wonderful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Lucolena in Chianti was probably too far to walk, but worth visiting the town square where you will find a great pizzeria. We also stopped in one evening for ice cream and sat outside with the locals.
Tips or Restaurants:
Eat with Dario the Butcher of Panzano! Panzano is about a 30-minute drive from Toni 1 and the dinner may well have been the highlight of our culinary experiences. Linens, dish washing soap and coffee filters were provided, so purchase laundry detergent, toilet paper, and condiments.
Directions:
GPS was a real plus. The coordinates lead us there perfectly.

Jo, June

Overall:
Unbelievablly great!
Enjoyed Most:
The views, the location, and the villa caretakers.
Enjoyed Least:
Can't think of any.
Surrounding Area:
The wine, the landscape, the people.
Tips or Restaurants:
Radda for kids was great since they have a playground.
Directions:
Used a GPS and was given coordinates.

Steve, May

Overall:
Loved the location! We were there in December so we were the only people there and it was quiet and beautiful. The owner was wonderful. Full of information and obviously loves his property and its history!
Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location. The area was absolutely beautiful and centrally located in Tuscany. We were given lots of side information that was helpful i.e. restaurants, markets, maps of Florence, etc.
Enjoyed Least:
The mattresses.
Surrounding Area:
The beauty of the countryside and the history.
Tips or Restaurants:
Arrange ahead of time for cooking classes, wine tasting, etc. Make sure you get a tour of their little "museum." Great place for large groups that is separate enough when you need your space. They recommended restaurants. We were given a restaurant recommendation from a grocer in Panzano. It is in Radda in Chianti and is called, "Osteria le Panzanelle." Not super friendly but great food and atmosphere. Seemed to be a "locals" place and was fairly inexpensive. I would definitely recommend a GPS for your car. It was invaluable!
Directions:
Get a GPS!!!!!

Jennifer, December

Overall:
Excellent. Rooms were new, well maintained and clean. Pool was great.
Enjoyed Most:
Leonardo was very helpful and accommodating.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen was a bit small, as was the bathroom.
Surrounding Area:
Tranquility, great food and wine, and proximity to Florence, via train. A few good local restaurants were pretty close.
Tips or Restaurants:
Most everything is provided.
Directions:
Did not use GPS, but will in the future.
Check In Out:
We were delayed and did not have a cell phone. Leonardo stayed many hours later to give us the keys.
