Overall:
One word: AMAZING.
Enjoyed Most:
EVERYTHNG, the privacy, the views the accommodations, and the manager Guilia was amazing. She was helpful and had great knowledge of the area. She guided us in every way and set up some great tours as well as a baptism for our granddaughter. She was a 10 out of 10.
Surrounding Area:
Everything! The views were amazing, and you can walk to the tiny village for supplies and great food. The pool area was outstanding , the views from the pool area were incredible, as were the very well kept grounds.
Tips or Restaurants:
All the restaurants in the area were great and very family-oriented with great menu selections for everyone as we had 7 grandchildren from ages 6 months to 12 years old. Along with gluten allergies and peanut allergies and they were all very accommodating. I sent a box a few weeks ahead with pool toys and life jackets for the children that was a great help along with baby supplies diapers, etc. Giulia received them and brought them to the villa. Do the wine tour in the castle across the street. Great supermarket, a Coop, 20 minutes away for supplies.
Special Experiences:
We had a chef prepare a meal. We also did a wine tour and guided tours. RentVillas worked with the manager, Giulia, to arrange a baptism for our 6 month old granddaughter. Our children and grandchildren will never forget this experience and said it was the trip of a lifetime. I recommend all of the excursions to everyone. Giulia, the house manager, went above and beyond.
Directions:
We did not use the directions as we rented cars from the airport in Florence and also hired a taxi to take us and lead us to villa as it was night time . He had great knowledge of area. Once we got there, it was very easy to travel everywhere as we went to Rome, Venice, Pisa and Florence quite often.
Check In Out:
It went very smoothly.

Overall:
Ai Lecci was a wonderful place for our family vacation. I couldn't be happier with this property. We were there in June and were able to enjoy the evening meals outside on the terrace overlooking the beauty of the hillside view. The pool area was very peaceful .
Enjoyed Most:
Gosh, I stayed at the cottage so it was like a fairly tale setting. All of the bathrooms were very stylish. The kitchens were wonderful and well stocked with everything we needed. We appreciated the nice touch with the welcome goodies. It 's worth mentioning that we felt very safe thanks to the entrance gate.
Enjoyed Least:
We were unaware that part of the joined buildings had local tenants. It would have been appreciated if we would have been informed.
Surrounding Area:
This area is very hilly and can be a challenge. But it's well worth the adventure! We drove to a couple of wineries and took in the beautiful Chianti region. Most wineries have irregular hours so I would book a tour if this on the top of your list.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The little town of San Donato in Collina is a five minute walk from the villa. The town has a wine store (of course!); my son and son-in-law promptly made friends with the owner. The butcher was next door and we savored our pork roll-ups and rabbit. A small grocery store is also there. We choose to take the bus into Florence (about a 45 min drive) which is conveniently on the other side of the street in town. Also a good schedule. There are no trains close to the villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
This villa is truly one where you can relax, so make it a part of your trip. We cooked in a lot but there are a few restaurants where you can drive.
Directions:
The property was fairly easy to find and yes, we had a GPS, doesn't everyone? What was nice was that were escorted to the villa from the village.
Check In Out:
The check in process was well organized. A lovely lady took us to the villa and gave us a tour and a lot of information. We were ready to settle in. My hats off to RentVillas. Very reliable company that keeps you up to date and has the time to answer all of your questions. Thanks Nicole and Ashley for making my dream vacation a reality!

The decor in the living room/dining area in the house we stayed in could have been a little nicer, but overall, we loved it.
Surrounding Area:
Loved walking to the little town for a afternoon coffee. Everyone was very friendly.
Nearby Events or Locales:
San Donato; yes, was within walking distance. We really liked that.
Tips or Restaurants:
Recommend cooking at the villa. It was fun to sit under the grape vines and look at the beautiful view or go into Florence to eat.
Directions:
Directions where great and yes, we did use GPS.
Check In Out:
It was perfect and Julie was very helpful. I have already recommended the villa to several friends and family.

Overall:
Was better than I expected.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool.
Enjoyed Least:
The driveway access.
Surrounding Area:
About a half an hour from Florence. The view from the pool was spectacular!
Nearby Events or Locales:
If you call San Donato a town, then yes, it was within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Buy groceries at the nearby Coop (a local grocery store) and enjoy cooking at the villa. You cant beat the experience!
Directions:
I called my contact as soon as I was near the villa. She met me promptly with no problems.
Check In Out:
Simple and fast.

Overall:
We loved staying in a house. It's much more comfortable with the kids!
Enjoyed Most:
The table outside with the view.
Enjoyed Least:
The pool is far from the house.
Surrounding Area:
The beautiful view.

Overall:
The villa was wonderful. Beyond expectations. When we arrived there was a huge bowl of fruit (pineapple, peaches, etc.) in the kitchen. Plus cheese and yogurt in the fridge and crackers, pasta and tomato sauce on the counter. The kitchens and bathrooms were beautiful and modern. Charming and comfortable. The very best thing was Giulia. She came to find us when we were lost. She solved every problem almost before we knew we had a problem She is a treasure. We did not take the bus. We drove to a near by town (can't remember the name !) and took the train that took us right to the center of town and the leather market. Overall it was a GREAT experience. I give it an A+++++
Enjoyed Most:
It was beautiful and charming. All modern conveniences and still an Italian country villa.
Enjoyed Least:
Olive trees, fig trees, grape vines, lavender and a lovely grape arbor under which we had dinner every night. Plus a beautiful view.
Surrounding Area:
It was beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
San Donato was a 5 minute walk with some groceries and small places to eat. Several wonderful restaurants within a 10 minute drive. Also Coop grocery stores in near by towns
Tips or Restaurants:
We brought paper napkins, T.P., sugar, salt. Didn't need it as the villa was beautifully stocked when we arrived. There are converter plugs, hair dryers, movies, DVDss, TV (in Italian) and almost anything you could want.
Check In Out:
Giulia made it all easy.

Overall:
We had a great time enjoying the accommodations and amenities. The pool is great and the view of the surrounding hills is terrific.
Enjoyed Most:
We had 9 people in our party and there was plenty of space for all of us to have privacy and get together when we wanted to. Also, while we were there late in the season, we still managed a meal outside under the grape arbor--beautiful!
Enjoyed Least:
It was further outside of Florence than we believed. I think the mileage stated is to the outskirt of Florence, not the city center.
Surrounding Area:
The countryside is very picturesque and the view spectacular.
Nearby Events or Locales:
San Donato is within easy walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
The small cafe in San Donato is run by a great couple with excellent panini and coffees. The bus was a convenient short walk away and was between 45 minutes and an hour to get to Florence. DO NOT DRIVE INTO FLORENCE! The bus is much more convenient.
Directions:
We picked up a rental car at the Florence airport (which is not actually located at the airport proper). Finding our way out of this location (and then back to) was complicated. I recommend picking up a car in downtown Florence, instead.
Check In Out:
Giulia was excellent and very helpful!

Overall:
Outstanding. The villa was in a great location, but one of the finest features was the staff and the personal attention to all our needs. We loved the villa and were so comfortable. It felt like home with all the amenities anyone could need, especially the well equipped kitchens. The swimming pool was large and a great design with a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside. It was very clean, well-appointed and just a wonderful place to spend a month. We would rent it again without hesitation.
Enjoyed Most:
The quality of the rooms and the amenities, but the location in Tuscany and proximity to Florence were also perfect.
Enjoyed Least:
There was some ambient noise from the road and occasionally from local residents, but nothing that was disruptive or problematic. Hardly worth mentioning.
Surrounding Area:
The little town of San Donato was delightful. It had everything we needed including very reliable bus service into Florence.
Nearby Events or Locales:
See above. Yes, it was three blocks from the villa. Quite an asset in our opinion.
Tips or Restaurants:
Restaurant Nuovo Rancho (about a 10 minute drive). Excellent food and very reasonable priced. A local favorite. All household needs and comforts were provided.
Directions:
We had to work out careful driving directions from the Autostrada A1 to the villa, because it is challenging to find all the correct turns through the first small towns before you reach Via Roma and the straight shot to the villa. A GPS is very helpful.
Check In Out:
Bring copies of your passport. Helpful for check in and in case your passport is lost or stolen. The staff at the villa is outstanding and very, very accommodating, especially with checking, orientation to the facilities and then responding to every need or request. The manager also aligned us with outstanding driver service, a Florence quide, and a chef who was superior. So service was superior in every respect.

Susan, July

Overall:
Was really WOW'ed by the property. The pictures on the web site do not do it justice. Beautiful scenery, very peaceful, loved the pool!
Enjoyed Most:
Scenery, pool, the property as a whole!
Enjoyed Least:
Bus transportation to Florence: getting there was no problem, but getting back there was always a 1-2 hour wait for the buses.
Surrounding Area:
Quaint town, easy to get to Florence (just not getting back by bus.)
Nearby Events or Locales:
San Donato in Collina; it's a couple minutes to walk to the town.
Tips or Restaurants:
Definitely recommend hiring a chef through RentVillas to come to your villa. Dinner was excellent and he was very nice.
Directions:
Took taxis from airport to property.

Robin, July

Overall:
The overall experience was everything that we had hoped for.
Enjoyed Most:
The view from the patio was awesome.
Enjoyed Least:
Getting out of the driveway took a great deal of faith.
Surrounding Area:
There was great cycling very close to the villa. Nice wine tasting very close to the villa. Very close to Florence for day trips... but the driving is nerve wracking.
Nearby Events or Locales:
San Donata in Collina was only a 2 minute walk. However the road was a little scary to walk on!
Tips or Restaurants:
The Nouveau Ranch is a nice restaurant within 10 minutes (driving) of the villa. Great for the first night there when no one wants to shop and cook. The property manager made the reservations for us. There is a nice grocery store in Bagno a Ripoli called Coop. It's just off of the main road. Look for the sign.
Directions:
The entrance is VERY soon after you come through town. Look for the sign Casamaggio on the stone wall.

Dean, June

Overall:
Great.
Enjoyed Most:
Pool was beautiful, very relaxing. It fit well for our multiple families in terms of layout. Two masters with the boys in the adjoining room, three girls in the other building.
Enjoyed Least:
WiFi nonexistent after 2 minutes. A little noisy, and exiting to highway was thrilling…! Editor's Note: A severe thunderstorm affected the Internet connection. The issue has now been resolved. July 2011.
Surrounding Area:
Stefania and Gabrielli at little pastry and coffee "shop".
Nearby Events or Locales:
It was 100 yards from the small town.
