Customer Reviews

Overall:
Just what we wanted, a quiet room in the heart of Rome.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, clean and easy to use.
Enjoyed Least:
A little dark.
Surrounding Area:
Wonderful historic district, easy access to sights.
Tips or Restaurants:
We enjoyed a nearby restaurant "Wanted"; good food and ambiance.
Directions:
A local map might help, the nearby streets are small and some are one way... our taxi had no problem, however.
Check In Out:
We had no trouble once we reached Marco, the key holder.

Ron, September

Overall:
A good experience. The apartment was very well-supplied.
Enjoyed Most:
It was very centrally located.
Enjoyed Least:
The lack of lighting and it is very small.
Surrounding Area:
Many of the attractions were within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Just facecloths.
Check In Out:
We called Marco the day before we were due. He met us at the property.

Rosemarie, October

Overall:
It was wonderful to be in the middle of Rome in walking distance of almost all the major sights and experiences. We enjoyed eating in neighborhood restaurants, people watching in our neighborhood square, and being just 50 paces away from a gelato vendor.
Enjoyed Most:
The location. Also, the apartment was clean, neat, and well equipped.
Enjoyed Least:
The bed mattress has seen better days. Unlucky for us (not the property's problem), we had some noisy late night neighbors.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring ear plugs in case of late night noisy neighbors - the nice little courtyard outside the door which forms the center of the building tends to reverberate noise from across the way or above.
Directions:
Just gave the address to the taxi driver at the Termini (train station) and we were there in 5 minutes.
Check In Out:
Thanks to Hassan for meeting us with the keys and explaining the apartment facilities to us. Hassan also gave us hints on were to eat for less (the Trastevere area). Thanks to Marco for coordinating our arrival and having Hassan ready to meet us.

Overall:
You have to be prepared for an urban apartment that is small, compact and not suited to lavish entertaining. Once you accept that, the apartment is in an excellent location for seeing Rome. You can get to just about everything on foot and there are plenty of eating places nearby for everyting from early morning to late evening. There is a WiFi hot spot at the cafe up the road. This truly is a place to sleep and change clothes while exploring Rome.
Enjoyed Most:
Its central location.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing specific. You just have to be prepared for an urban space. Because the unit is situated on an inner courtyard at the base of a several story building, it is dark. The lighting in the space could be improved but when you are not there for hours at a time this really is not an issue.
Surrounding Area:
Access to the many sites of Rome, the cafes, and restaurants. For the women there are small boutiques where you can have clothing made while you are visiting the city.
Tips or Restaurants:
Nothing specific. All the amenities you need including a small grocery are within blocks.

Overall:
Rome was great.
Enjoyed Most:
Location.
Enjoyed Least:
Lack of windows. Small.
Surrounding Area:
Great walking distance to many sites. Good restaurants. Close to Metre.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring kleenex and wash cloths.
Directions:
We were picked up - taxi.
Check In Out:
Hassan was very helpful.

Overall:
It was a great way to start. Threedays in Rome was perfect as it was not the main reason for the trip, but it took care of our jet lag and we got to see a bit of Rome. Hassan was very nice to deal with.
Enjoyed Most:
Location...walking distances to everything including Vatican.
Enjoyed Least:
Not a thing.
Surrounding Area:
It was Rome!!!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Trastevere...very cool!
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurants down the road at the piazza are very good.
Directions:
we used a limo service that was recommended by Nicole. Best idea - only 40 euros.
Check In Out:
Like I said before Hassan excellant, he was there to meet us and showed us everything we needed to know.

Joseph, September

Overall:
Wonderful! Great location. Clear instructions.
Enjoyed Most:
Location.
Enjoyed Least:
There was a moldy smell which someone tried to cover up with strong air freshener sticks which were worse than the original smell.
Surrounding Area:
The square, proximity to the old part of the city, the neighborhood feel.

Overall:
We had a great time in Rome. Hassen, the keeper of the keys, was an excellent source of information and very personable.
Enjoyed Most:
The location is great. It is very close to the Coliseum and the metro station. The apartment is very cute and attractively decorated. It is very quiet.
Enjoyed Least:
It is dark inside as there is virtually no exterior light. It is a bit like a little cave. There is a very nice patio outside the door but it was too cold for us to take advantage of it. The apartment was damp.
Surrounding Area:
We were able to walk to many attractions and the metro was nearby and easy to use.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring good walking shoes as the streets are mostly cobble stone.
Directions:
We took a train to Rome and then took a taxi to the apartment.
Check In Out:
Hassen was a wonderful help, met us promptly and gave us great information.

Alana, November

Overall:
We had a great time! The apartment was perfect for us, located on a one way street in a active neighborhood. We entered off of a busy, but one way street, down a long hall to an interior open air courtyard, which was very small but pleasant. The guy from the rental office was a very nice, pleasant young man. He spent about 20 minutes reviewing a map of the area and recommending places to go.
Enjoyed Most:
It was very quiet, but still right in the heart of Rome. The street quickly felt like home. The first night we stopped and got gelato just a few doors down. The next night we stopped again it was awesome stuff! and the young owner thanked us for coming back. Very nice guy.
Enjoyed Least:
There were a lot of keys and doors to deal with - 4 to enter the place, but it really was no big deal
Surrounding Area:
YES! There was great pizza place right down the street, a grocery store where the young workers were very patient with us on the first day when jet-lag and language confusion made quite a befuddled couple. Also every evening the piazza was full of people from the neighborhood hanging out.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The Colosseum and Forum were in easy walking distance, the Metro stop was only 300 yards away, and Saint Peter in Chains, home of Michelangelo's Moses, was up a lovely, long typically Roma stairway. The day we went there was a man playing "That's Amore" on an accordion in the tunnel. One of my husband's favorite songs.
Tips or Restaurants:
Taverna Romana/Via Della Madonna Dei Monti 79 was just down the street. Great food, great atmosphere and even great pricing.
Directions:
We took the train from the airport to Termini, very easy to navigate and find the train and it was only 14 Euros each instead of 40. Then we took a cab to the apartment, which was probably a good idea, though we easily took the Metro throughout our stay. However, we paid way too much for the cab. I recommend asking the cabbie "How much?" to your address before agreeing to the ride. We walked away from a couple of cabs because the fare they quoted was a lot more than it should have been.
Check In Out:
The rental agent was there waiting for us.
