Customer Reviews

Overall:
Highly recommend! We loved the location. We chose to be in Sorrento and avoid the need for a car. The central location and ease of transport for Capri, Ischia, Pompeii and the Amalfi coast, the neighborhood location of the villa with shops, coffee bars and restaurants, the short 10 minute walk to the central square, the charm of Sorrento...all made this a joyful vacation with 10 friends.
Enjoyed Most:
The owner (Mena) has tried to think of everything her guests might want, housekeeper who does laundry, patio with chaises and small pool, everything needed for a large group.... 2 dining rooms and outside dining all with tables for 10, beds in 4 of the 5 bedrooms that can be separated into twins, hair dryers in each bathroom, fully equipped gourmet kitchen with plenty of dinnerware and glassware, all in all a large, comfortable and elegant place with unique Italian modern architecture and beautiful decor.
Enjoyed Least:
Noting another review, we had no issue with the air-conditioning or soccer stadium and there is lack of a view, but also the opportunity to visit the Grand Hotel Ambasciatore across the street for a drink on the terrace overlooking the bay.
Check In Out:
All went very smoothly.

Overall:
We had a very nice stay in this beautiful house. The host is very friendly and did everything that was asked for to make the villa feel homey during the xmas holiday period.
Enjoyed Most:
Its location is excellent. It only takes a short walk to get to the town square. The house itself has almost everything that's required to make it feel homey. It even has a guitar to add to the piano for the musically inclined and wonderful fire places to complement the lovely family sitting and dining areas.
Enjoyed Least:
The lack of a view is a downside and the multiple levels with their marble steps make the villa that much less child-friendly.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The town of Sorrento is a just a few minutes walk away.
Tips or Restaurants:
Hiring a car in Sorrento is very expensive so it's best to hire one from Naples airport. Bringing along your own bedroom slippers helps as the marble flooring gets pretty cold during the winter months.
Directions:
Yes,we used GPS. It's very easy to find the villa using GPS.
Check In Out:
Talk to the host about the need for flexibility with regard to checking in and out. The host is very accommodating..

Overall:
Amazing. You can stay at a hotel in Sorrento, but you're only visiting. With the villa, we got to actually live there and experience it. Excellent time!
Enjoyed Most:
While other Sorrento villas are cheaper, this one is by far the best choice for someone who doesn't want to take a cab everywhere. I was thrilled that it was a 10 min walk to everywhere: the main square, the shops, a supermarket, and just a 2 min walk to a great restaurant.
Enjoyed Least:
While there are so many pluses, there are a few areas of the villa that need improvement. The first is that you really don't have a view of any kind, because you're enclosed by 4 walls when on the property. Also, on weekends, you're right next to a soccer stadium which can get fairly loud, but during the week it was quiet. The washing machine and dryer were also a little tough to get working. And the biggest area of improvement would have to be the dampness of the villa. While not unbearable, a small dehumidifier would do wonders.
Surrounding Area:
So close to everything. It put you right in a wonderful European setting.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest small town was Sant'Angello. While not an easy walk, it was definitely walkable. About 20 mins.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring your appetite! We went out to dinner every night and did not eat a bad meal. Our favorite restaurants were in the town square. Caruso's and La Laterna. But if you just want a quick bite to eat for a reasonable price, there's a great pizzeria/restaurant 2 mins from the villa.
Directions:
Directions were great, we just walked from the train station. It was great.
Check In Out:
Everything was very smooth. Mena explained everything to us and was very helpful whenever we needed a favor, like using her printer.
