Overall:
The experience of being in the Chianti area was wonderful and the view from the patio was not to be missed! We had a wonderful Tuscan meal prepared by Patricia and she helped us correct our Italian. There was so much history surrounding us it was difficult not to be overwhelmed. It took a few days but we finally settled into the relaxed lifestyle and found ourselves taking two hours to enjoy lunch.
Enjoyed Most:
The property was quiet and the staff very helpful. The view was terrific. The property was centrally located and made it easy to take day trips to other local places (e.g. Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, etc) We also enjoyed the pool. It wasn't crowded since we were there mid to late September and the weather was excellent!
Enjoyed Least:
One bathroom had a shower so small no one used it while the other bathroom had a bigger shower but the rest of the bathroom was quite small. We managed between the two, though.
Surrounding Area:
The view was breathtaking with all the surrounding vineyards and small farm houses! The town of Tavarnelle had some cute shops and a nice market. We found many small and large vineyards to explore and became experts in Chianti. Each of the hill towns we visited had their own unique personality and history. Olive oil production is also big there.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The town within walking distance didn't have much to offer so we generally went to Tavarnelle by car. Not far!
Tips or Restaurants:
I would definitely recommend a GPS if you are renting a car. We'd still be stuck on a rotary if not for our GPS. Bring salad dressing, salt and pepper, and any other comfort foods that are not Italian. You will find mostly Italian food and ingredients at the store. There is a washer but not a dryer. We generally went to the laundromat by the grocery store (COOP). If you arrive Saturday, you can still go to the market Sunday morning. The market closes around noon on Sunday!
Directions:
Everything was fine until the end. We ended up on a dirt road and could have missed a couple of turns if not for our GPS.
Check In Out:
The check in/check out was great! The property manager checked us in and out quickly. She was there to answer questions and help as needed. Definitely a plus!

Overall:
Overall we loved the villa, particularly the outdoor area and pool. The view was absolutely beautiful - olive groves, vineyards and hills, and the staff were friendly and helpful. In addition, the location was good.
Enjoyed Most:
The outdoor area and pool were fantastic, the beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms were great, and the kitchen was modern and functional. In addition, the staff were friendly and helpful.
Enjoyed Least:
There was an unpleasant odor particularly in the TV area and middle bedroom. In addition, the windows were very small and some didn't have screens, so it was difficult to get airflow.
Surrounding Area:
Stunning scenery, easily accessible grocery store, and a fantastic restaurant very close by. In addition, the villa was centrally located so day-trips to surrounding centers worked out well.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Romita - it was a very small village. It was probably within walking distance. Tavernelle was larger and had a grocery store but it wasn't within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
I think the villa was fairly well-equipped. However, you do need to supply your own laundry soap, dishwasher soap, and salt and pepper.
Directions:
We didn't use a GPS and we were fine. The directions were fairly straight forward and easy to follow.
