Customer Reviews

Overall:
Further away from Rialto Bridge and St. Marks Square than we would have liked, but overall positive experience.
Enjoyed Most:
Quiet area and close to the water bus stop. We found several good restaurants in the area.
Surrounding Area:
Everything, it's Venice!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Murano?
Tips or Restaurants:
Take time to sit and enjoy the music on St. Mark's Square. Well worth the time and money!
Directions:
We used a private water taxi.
Check In Out:
Had problems trying to use our cell phones. The taxi driver was kind enough to contact property manager.

Overall:
We had a wonderful time in Venice. The villa was perfect for our family. We had everything we needed, including private outdoor space.
Enjoyed Most:
The location and the outdoor space. We were in walking distance of everything while being only a few blocks from a water bus stop.
Enjoyed Least:
The mosquitos were relentless and the windows don't have screens. If you close the windows it gets very stuffy. I would suggest using repellent before going to bed or bringing mosquito netting. Editor's Note: RentVillas recommends plug-in repellent devices available at any Italian grocery store; brands to look for are Vape and Baygon.
Surrounding Area:
Absolutely everything. We were right next to a beautiful church and near stores and restAurants.
Nearby Events or Locales:
There are other islands easily reached by water bus.
Directions:
The water bus was very easy to use and our villa easy to find.

Overall:
Everything we hoped for. Great location, quiet, and lovely neighborhood. The kitchen was wonderful. It was so pleasant to walk back to the property. About two canals away you began to feel the crowds disperse and the tranquility begin.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location.
Enjoyed Least:
Second bedroom was cramped with large bed and the second bathroom has only a tub with handheld nozzle. The beautiful antique furniture almost made us uncomfortable sitting around on it. Unfortunately one of the chairs had a nasty stain on the cushion.
Surrounding Area:
Easy access to restaurants in the next canal. Lovely church next door with Tintoretto's tomb. So quiet. Felt like a local living there. The Vaporetto stop was very near, and walking to St. Marks Square was very enjoyable. Large grocery store was very convenient once we found it the first time.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in Venice.
Tips or Restaurants:
Plenty of restaurants on the next canal. Walk out the front door, go over the bridge, and the osteria has tables in square!
Directions:
For first timers, it might be helpful to explain the ticketing for the vaporetto. The walk from the train station wasn't too bad, even with luggage.
Check In Out:
The staff was very accommodating and easy to communicate with.

Overall:
Fabulous! The apartment was a perfect base to explore Venice. Casa Errizo is in a lovely, quiet area next to the beautiful church Madonna Dell Orto - very peaceful and lovely to come home to after a day of sightseeing in bustling Venice. Although located just out of the main tourist hub it is still central to all the sights and lovely restaurants Venice has to offer. The apartment is well equipped, beautifully designed (classic Venetian style with gorgeous antiques).
Enjoyed Most:
The style and design of the apartment is fabulous and location perfect. Everything is in walking distance including supermarkets, pharmacy, cafés etc. The apartment offers all the mod cons that make for a comfortable stay.
Surrounding Area:
Everything! The church next door is so beautiful, lovely to come home after a busy day to a glass of wine in the garden looking over to the church. There are lots of fabulous restaurants in close proximity. 5 minute walk to vaporetto. Very peaceful and quiet. Supermarket only 5 minute walk away. Hosts were lovely and very informative.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We walked everywhere. 15 minute walk to Rialto Bridge and 20 minute walk to San Marco Square, easy!
Tips or Restaurants:
Nothing to bring. Check out the visitors book when you arrive - great restaurant recommendations including ours!
Directions:
Directions perfect - it is very simple to find.
Check In Out:
No - check in/out was simple and quick. Our host was lovely, very informative and helpful.

Overall:
Very good.
Enjoyed Most:
Location.
Enjoyed Least:
No towel racks in bathrooms; and grass needed mowing.
Surrounding Area:
View of canal, quiet, great restaurants nearby and easy access to vaporetto.
Directions:
Very clear directions.
Check In Out:
The key holder was not there to meet us. It was a an hour before someone arrived.

Diane, April

Overall:
We enjoyed our stay very much.
Enjoyed Most:
The location is next door to a beautiful church - the top of which is visible from the garden. There are lovely restaurants nearby and the water taxi stop is handy, too.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen is not very well-equipped. It does have a dishwasher which is a plus, but there were barely enough glasses.
Surrounding Area:
The area is not in the heavy tourist section, which we prefer. It is in a quiet neighborhood with grocery and bakery nearby so you feel more like a local than a visitor.
Nearby Events or Locales:
It's Venice, so... Murano is a short water taxi ride away from the stop near the property.
Tips or Restaurants:
Ostaria Da Rioba and Osteria L'Orto dei Mori were both excellent. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and they spoke English which helped us as non-Italian speakers.
Directions:
The directions were fine, but they sent someone to meet us at the water taxi stop. We did not use GPS.
Check In Out:
The process was easy. They let us leave our luggage there as we arrived early, and then we came back after the other guests had left for the orientation and keys.

Overall:
We had a wonderful experience in this gorgeous apartment. Exceptional memories in a great area and we have no hesitation in referring anyone to this property in the future.
Enjoyed Most:
The location is away form the tourist area and it was a joy to slip into the local life.
Surrounding Area:
Just the laid back life of the surrounding area and the lovely restaurants and bars where you could sit by the canals and soak up the ambiance. The location is brilliant.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We caught water taxis to the islands, which was wonderful.
Tips or Restaurants:
Everything is close at hand and I think you can buy anything you need at the supermarkets close by.
Directions:
RentVillas was VERY professional and we found them to be very helpful and friendly.
Check In Out:
All very professionally handled and right on time.

Jennifer, September

Overall:
The location was wonderful for access both to the Grand Canal and the water taxis and being in Venice in this place made the experience magical.
Enjoyed Most:
Location! Peace and quiet.
Enjoyed Least:
Small bedrooms and no shower in the bathtub.
Surrounding Area:
Everything!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Venice itself was very easy to get around by foot, and the islands of Murano and Burano were in easy access via the water taxi.
Tips or Restaurants:
Venice is a city that is wonderful to get lost in. I would recommend as we did to spend a day wandering and not worrying about getting lost. It is an easy city to find your way around and the Venicians are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to charm you. Spend a day eating where the local do....you'll be glad you did.
Directions:
No need for that in Venice...everything is easy to walk to from the Madonna dell Orto vaporetto stop. Ricardo was very helpful and accomodating as our apartment manager. And we found Venice to be very safe.
Check In Out:
I would suggest calling the manager when you arrive at the water taxi at the airport.

Leo, September

Enjoyed Most:
It was in a quiet part of the city. It was very comfortable and we felt right at home. There was a nice outdoor area with grass and a privacy wall so we felt safe. It also had great WiFi connections!
Enjoyed Least:
The washing machine was broken. Nicolai told us if it wasn't fixed by the next day he would come and get our laundry. We never saw him again, but we called the property management company and Barbara came immediately. She was very sweet!
Surrounding Area:
Venice was wonderful. The location was off the beaten path and the boat transportation was just a short distance away. We were right next door to a beautiful church and we witnessed a wedding and reception.
Tips or Restaurants:
All of the restaurants were amazing. Go to San Marco's square at night for a wonderful treat!
Directions:
We arrived by train and the directions told us which boat to take; one of the stops was near our villa and we walked right to it!

Connie, September

Overall:
This was a wonderful place to stay in Venice. It was not near the center of the city, so that it was very quiet and non-touristy, but only about a 15 minute walk to get to the center.
Enjoyed Most:
The apartment was very large, for a European city apartment.
Surrounding Area:
It was great to walk around in at night very quiet, very peaceful.
Check In Out:
We got lost finding the property - because we used the directions of someone in the hotel we had stayed in the night before (your directions were fine I should have used them!) and we were very late meeting the key holder. He waited for us and was very good natured about our lateness.

Joan, May

Overall:
Very nice apartment within fairly close distance of the train station. Just wish we had spent a little longer at the property in order to enjoy the lovely garden spaces.
Enjoyed Most:
Very quiet location, lovely garden, nice kitchen area although I was not familiar with how the oven worked. Fantastic to have WiFi. Very nice living room, very spacious and charming.
Surrounding Area:
Very quiet neighborhood, but so close to the vaporetto and also very close to everything except San Marco Square. Easy to get back and forth.
Directions:
Directions were excellent.
Check In Out:
Check-in person very friendly, but not as knowledgable about certain things like grocery purchasing or restaurant recommendations.

Julie Satake , April

Overall:
we had a wonderful time at Casa Errizo. We loved the location, quiet, but easy access to all the action. The apartment was beautiful and very clean.
Enjoyed Most:
The location and the garden. When home, we ate all our meals outside.
Enjoyed Least:
No rods or hooks in the bathroom to hang your wet towels. Also, they need to have an fan in the bedrooms. We actually bought one that we used in the Castello Ricco the following week. It worked out well.
Surrounding Area:
Easy access to everything, grocery, wine, shops etc.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in the heart of Venice.
Tips or Restaurants:
Portable fan. The neighborhood restaurants are fantastic. I will try to get the names.
Directions:
We were met at the Vapparetto by one of the coordinators who walked us to the property. It was perfect!
Check In Out:
Very easy.
