Overall:
The villa was beautiful, perfectly appointed and large enough for our group of 8. Its in a lovely, small town - none of the crowds you'd find in Positano or Sorrento, but still close enough to visit them easily. It was nice to have close access to the beach as well. We loved being there.
Enjoyed Most:
The location - close to the beach (and the beach restaurant, which was amazing), fantastic views in every direction, and an easy walk to a few restaurants.
Enjoyed Least:
The dog that lived across the street - he barked constantly. The mattresses were quite firm.
Surrounding Area:
The people in the area businesses were so friendly. And there was just about anything you'd need close to the villa. We also took a moderate hike from the center of Nerano to a beach on the other side of the point you can see from the right of the villa - Baia de Larento - lots of steps, but if you want to work off some pasta there are spectacular vistas from up there, and the beach at the other end is beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Marina de Cantone was within walking distance. Nerano was too far to walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
Watershoes a must. The restaurant on the beach (La Perla) was one of all of our favorites out of our entire trip. Friendly people, beautiful location, great bolognese! The pizza restaurant way down the hill to the marina (Nettano Pizza Restaurant) was just the opposite - the staff was very unfriendly, the lighting too bright and the food was only ok. also, the path to the beach is shared by other people. We NEVER had any concern with privacy or safety, but its worth noting since the door to the bottom floor is right off the path.
Directions:
We used Google Maps, and it was still very confusing. we were thinking the villa was in Nerano, while 'ts actually closer to Marina del Cantone.
Check In Out:
Maddalena was wonderful!! She couldnt do enough for us, and always very friendly and professional.

Overall:
Everything was great from check in through departure. The house is incredible. We felt incredibly welcome in the beautiful town and marina.
Enjoyed Most:
The home, local area and the people were awesome.
Enjoyed Least:
The small street is pretty difficult to find on the first try. Chances are that you'll pass it and have to turn around. Fortunately, you can't go too far before you make a u-turn
Surrounding Area:
The people were so kind and inviting. The marina (more like a small village) really had everything we needed.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Marina del Cantone is 600 meters away.
Directions:
Because it's a pretty difficult drive, we're glad we didn't have a car. It might be better to drive all the way to the marina, and then turn around. The landmarks are easier to identify and the turn onto the street is easier. It doesn't add more that 2 minutes, but it did make it simpler.
Check In Out:
The woman that checked us in and out were wonderful, kind and inviting. Louisa was exceptional.

Overall:
There were 13 of us and I would say we all enjoyed the property very much.
Enjoyed Most:
Location. It's is near enough to the Marina that everything was basically available. There's an ATM at the small tobacco shop where you can also pick up various grocery items. There are also groceries available a little closer next to the dive shop, where they also sell local wine by the liter for 4 Euros! Availability of restaurants is also very good.
Enjoyed Least:
The light switches and air conditioning controls are not labeled and it takes multiple attempts to try to figure out how to operate everything. The quick run-through with Clelia, the key holder, right at arrival time was simply not enough. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, there are some barking dogs in the morning. The beds are typically European and as such quite firm. The bathrooms are beautiful, but not really very functional. The showers are small and the bathrooms with just bathtubs are less practical. There are no large plugs for curling irons in the bathrooms...had to use the one designated for the iron in the laundry room. The door to the outside patio didn't have a door handle on it.
Surrounding Area:
Not too busy, but easy to rent a boat for a private tour of Capri and/or Amalfi and Positano. You will need cash for these, but with the ATM right there in the Marina, it was not a problem.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The Marina was the closest to a town. We did not have cars, but there is a bus station right near the villa and for 1 euro, you can go just about anywhere. Easy.
Tips or Restaurants:
We didn't find that we really needed anything. There are plenty of spices and stuff in the kitchen area, towels to use at the beach and pool. Maybe some insect repellent candles if you plan to be out on the patio in the evenings.
Directions:
We had the phone number of Mimma, so our Italian taxi driver could speak to her directly. He didn't seem to have too much trouble. Its about 100 euros per large taxi from Sorrento.

Overall:
Amazing. It's so beautiful!
Enjoyed Most:
It was clean, nicely decorated, and roomy.
Surrounding Area:
It was beautiful!
Directions:
Walking up and down the hill was hard for some people.
Check In Out:
Went smoothly.

Overall:
The villa was AWESOME!
Enjoyed Most:
The way it was laid out, cleanliness and fantastic views!
Enjoyed Least:
The only issue was a yappy dog acrossed the street that would bark frequently at night.
Surrounding Area:
Being close to the coast and able to get around fairly easily. Roads are very winding.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Right down the street--Nerano.
Tips or Restaurants:
Water shoes when going into the Mediterranean sea. It's very rocky and slippery. Also, the closest pizzeria has the best homemade red wine and a wonderful piano player upstairs every night. Good food, pizzas etc!
Directions:
Directions were great. Rent a smaller vehicle if possible. The winding roads are a bit narrow making for tight passageway at times, especially if you have a bus coming towards you.

Overall:
Top notch, very pleased.
Enjoyed Most:
House keeper was helpful and an excellent cook. Access to beach and a pool. Access to Amalfi coast, Sorrento, Capri. Liked the overall contemporary design of the property.
Enjoyed Least:
Barking dog across street.
Surrounding Area:
Scenery, old world charm, nice people.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Nerano - walkable for some; Marina Cantone - easy walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
Don't overpack - washer and dryer in house.
Directions:
May suggest driving past the street and looping back from the Marina. It's a tight downhill blind turn-in.
Check In Out:
Local agent was great.

Scott, October

Overall:
This was one of the most amazing place we've ever been to. The villa was absolutely stunning and the staff and house keeper at the villa were wonderful.
Enjoyed Most:
We LOVED EVERYTHING. If I have to pick one, I would say the location. We walked to the local restaurants and market every day. Easy walk. The stairs to the beach was not a big deal at all. It is so nice to be away from all the crazy touristy parts of Amalfi. We felt like locals.
Enjoyed Least:
The directions to the villa were very challenging to follow. GPS doesn't take you to the exact street. Our Italian-speaking driver had to ask several times for directions. Our friends that drove had to circle many times before they were able to find the place.
Surrounding Area:
The views, the water, the people, and the food!!
Nearby Events or Locales:
The Marina del Cantone was a lovely little marina with about 5-6 restaurants, markets, hotel and boat rentals. It was an easy 0.5 mile walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
You should know that the washer and dryer are very small, so don't expect to do lots of laundry for a big group everyday. Definitely check out La Perla restaurant down the stairs by the beach. They do not have a menu but they have a lot of food that they do cook and are very local and traditional, and good. We hung out there daily for coffee or drinks. Gabby, who is the only English-speaking staff there, was so friendly and helpful. She also makes a killer drink that we named Gabarni. You need to ask her to make it and try it.
Check In Out:
Check in and check out process could not be more smooth. Clelia, the lady that checked us in/out, met us at the villa to do all the paperwork. It was perfect.

Linda, July

Overall:
My experience exceeded my expectations!
Enjoyed Most:
View, location, and house staff.
Enjoyed Least:
Difficulty finding it.
Surrounding Area:
Low key local tourist spot.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Marina; yes, it's walkable.
Tips or Restaurants:
Laperla for drinks and casual food during the day. Ask for the Gabarini's.
Directions:
GPS took us to a location about 1/2 mile up the road. Make a sharp right at the brown "La Perla" sign.

Cindi, July

Overall:
Wonderful!!!!
Enjoyed Most:
Everything was clean, well-taken care of, and beautiful. We loved the steps going down to the beach (the 128 steps are not as bad as you'd think).
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing really, only small showers, but that wasn't even a big deal.
Surrounding Area:
The people were so nice and friendly!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Nerano was the nearest (Marina del Cantone). You can walk to restaurants, shops, church (up the big hill), etc.
Tips or Restaurants:
Where do I begin? Tons of suggestions! RESTAURANTS: When you exit the driveway/gate of the villa turn right go down the hill into town. There are tons of restaurants along the water. Our favorite was Ristorante Maria Grazia. Get tons of entrees and share, family style. There are other great restaurants there. MARKET Exit the gate, turn right, and walk down the hill, there's a store on the left 100-200m from the villa to buy groceries, etc. SIGHTSEEING: Capri--rent a boat from Ciuffitiello...use Pepe!!! This guy is the best! There's a rental stand on your way to the restaurants (directions above). There's a gelato place where his wife and parents work (the nicest family ever!) right next to the stand. He took us swimming in the ocean, took photos for us...the guy knows where to go. You need to use this guy. Tell him the "gemelli" (means twin) brothers from NJ sent you!!! Amalfi/Positano: Use Pepe and see both in one day. Trust us on this one. On the way to/from, he took us swimming, went to another Blue Grotto in Amalfi that he says is better than the Capri one, and took us to different caves. Use this guy! Ravello: You will need to hire a driver. We went to a cooking class at Mamma Agata's. Look for it online. Yes, it's expensive, but a wonderful experience. Our driver took us through Ravello for major sights, etc. Sorrento: Take a 1.5 Euro bus ride! You can buy a bus ticket at the grocery store above. Bus takes only 40 min. Sorrento is beautiful. Listen, you will walk lots, but you need to burn off all of the good food you'll be eating.

Overall:
Excellent!
Enjoyed Most:
Very clean, bright, and nicely appointed. Beautiful view, cool air, great kitchen. Thee housekeeper and property manager were both very attentive to detail and helpful. The housekeeper is a terrific cook, and we booked her services twice.
Enjoyed Least:
The master bath and one other bath were treacherous to get in and out of. Showers in the other bathrooms were small. Cell phone coverage was very bad and vodaphone phones could not get a signal at all.
Surrounding Area:
One of the few beaches on the coast. Beautiful sea breezes.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Nervano Cantone is a small harbor, 10 minute walk - with small shops, a few restaurants, and a hotel.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring plenty of cash. You have to go to Nerano to find an ATM and most vendors prefer cash or do not take credit cards at all. Be sure to have the housekeeper cook at least one diner for you - very reasonable and terrific quality. Provide a shopping list prior to arrival - the housekeeper will go shopping for you with a minor charge for her time. Must go to Quattro Passi restaurant - excellent food, beautiful views and decor, the best wine cellar, and charming, friendly service. Also recommend chartering a boat to go to Capri through the property manager.
Directions:
We had a driver who knew the property.
Check In Out:
Very clear, easy, professional

Overall:
In a word Spectactular!! The property was the most amazing well furbished, well appointed, and well located of all the many vacation properties that we have ever stayed in.
Enjoyed Most:
The furnishings, appointments and location of the property were beyond description and well beyond our fondest expectations. The entire villa was tiled with very attractive ceramic tiles with each room or area having it's own decor. A full-time delightful maid/caretaker, Mimma, was included in the rental price, and she kept the property in pristine condition and prepared our eat-in meals. The villa has an awesome view of the bay of Nerano and an easiily accessable staircase path to the beach. It is located above a delightful cove called Cantona Del Mare which had several first class restaurants including the 5-star El Capitan. Boat services to Capri, Sorento, Amalfi and Positano was convenient, easily available and very reasonablly priced.
Enjoyed Least:
While prisine and very well appointed the bath showers for the most part were small by US standards.
Surrounding Area:
The cove and peninsula surrounding Nerano was very scenic and being in close proximity to Capri, Amalfi and Positano was very special.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Nerano was the nearest small town but while reasonably close and some of us did walk it, it was a steep climb up the hill.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa comes with everything you would need except for our food, although it is pretty well stocked with condiments and the maid/cook will bring in anything you might desire. There were several very good restaurants within walking distance, however, the best retaurant was in the villa itself where the full-time housekeepe/rmaid/cook prepared several of our meals for us.
Directions:
Property is a little hard to find and a GPS is a definite asset. We met the keyholderin the nearby town of San Agata and she escorted us to the property. After our first vist it was easy getting back and forth, however we parked our car when we arrived and never used it again until we left taking full advantage of easily accessible boats and buses.
Check In Out:
The keyholder was also a pleaure to deal with. She was very personable and helpful and made arrangements for us for local trips to Pompei and Ercolano as well as the arrangements for the three outstanding dinners that we had in the villa.
