Customer Reviews

Overall:
Extremely satisfying. Very relaxing, so peaceful and the views are spectacular.
Enjoyed Most:
The views are spectacular.
Enjoyed Least:
Both kitchen and bathrooms lacked counter space.
Surrounding Area:
Easy to get to.
Tips or Restaurants:
Refrigerator is small, so we used sandwich and gallons bags for left overs. Prior guest left items behind (sponges, dish soap, spices, tea bags). And we did the same. Olive oil, salt/pepper, sugar.
Directions:
Mention that it is in the country, no street lights, signage is very small. GPS is a must.
Check In Out:
The process was smooth. No issues.

Austin, September

Overall:
We loved the property and the farmhouse. Loved having a pool and took a couple of days to just enjoy the house and pool area.
Enjoyed Most:
The house and the scenery. It was lovely. The family nearby was a blessing and we loved everyone. Cata cooked for us and Barbara was so available for all the questions and needs we had. They even arranged for a sick husband to see a doctor. Thanks and love to each.
Enjoyed Least:
We did not have the air on and we expected it to be a bit cooler. We opened the doors and windows, but kept getting a houseful of bugs and mosquitoes. No screens so we felt a bit closed up when there.
Surrounding Area:
We visited every town in the two weeks. Some places we had been but the smaller towns we had not seen. We revisited the places we had been several times and explored the smaller towns and found wonderful places to have lunch or dinner.
Nearby Events or Locales:
No, we had to drive in from the villa. We went often to the Coop for supplies and food.
Tips or Restaurants:
Get out and explore. Many good places to eat. Then walk and more walking. Good walking shoes are a MUST! We went prepared. First 3 days were cooler and the ladies bought jackets in Cortona. (Did not pack jackets that were warm enough). Did not need them after 3 days so they were packed away.
Directions:
No, we had a good man that was a good navigator. Actually one driver and two navigating.
Check In Out:
All of the emails and letter and studying maps worked for us. You all made it easy and we really appreciate all that time and effort. Good communication was the key.

Overall:
The villa was everything I expected and more. The pictures don't do it justice. It was immaculate and very comfortable for our family of 7. The family that owns it is fabulous. We can't wait to go back again!
Enjoyed Most:
The views of the surrounding area took my breath away. I would open the upstairs window every morning and just stare out at the views for about 10 minutes, taking it all in. The infinity pool was also magnificent.
Surrounding Area:
We totally enjoyed visiting all the small surrounding towns in our area, experiencing the food and wine in several of them.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Foiano della Chiana. It was about a 5-10 minute car ride.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring pool towels. We thought the villa came with them, but it didn't. We did not have one bad meal in Tuscany, so try all those in the surrounding towns - don't be afraid, you'll definitely be pleased.
Directions:
The directions we received from the owner were perfect. Due to the villa's location (on top of a hill), we saw the villa way before we pulled up to it's driveway.
Check In Out:
We just want to commend the owners on their friendly, open, pleasant way they had about them throughout our stay. Whenever we had a question, Barbara would text right back to us with answers or if we knocked on Catia's door, she gladly helped us out with whatever it was we needed.

Overall:
The visit at the villa was perfect! We spent our 50th wedding anniversary there. The villa is well-kept as is the pool and property. We shared some time with the owners and found them hospitable and friendly and a very nice family. We would recommend this villa to any one looking to stay in Tuscany.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool, the fields of sunflowers, and--perhaps the absolute best--view day and night.
Surrounding Area:
Majestic. We loved the surrounding little towns and restaurants.
Nearby Events or Locales:
No not in waking distance. You will need a car to get to the surrounding towns.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa is stocked with dishes, pots and pans. One would need to shop for food and paper products
Directions:
No, we did not have a GPS. We had directions from the rental agency and also the telephone number which we did have to call to reach the villa once we were nearby.

Charmaine, August

Overall:
Our overall experience at the villa was just shy of perfection! The care and attention to detail provided by our hosts exceeded our expectations! We highly recommend this property and would love to return in the future - for 2 weeks next time!
Enjoyed Most:
The peaceful and private location, along with the incredible views of farm fields covered in sunflowers, with towns dotted throughout the horizon (particularly aglow at night). The pool was excellent and it was where we spent most of our time.
Enjoyed Least:
While the living room was quite comfortable, it didn't have enough (comfortable) seating for 8 people. Nobody tended to sit on the benches beside the fireplace.
Surrounding Area:
While the villa is somewhat remote, it was a quick drive to neighbouring towns (Cortona, Lucignano, etc.) and day trips to Florence, Siena, Montepulciano and Pisa were easy. We managed to see quite a lot during our week at the villa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Foiano Della Chiana was the closest town but we could not walk there. It was a short drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
We packed beach towels and were happy we did so we didn't have to use our bath towels. The kitchen is stocked well with appliances but all food condiments will need to be purchased. Bug spray is handy. Most of all, make sure you have a camera because everything is so beautiful you won't want to forget it!
Directions:
We had to go to see the property managers first, who then led us to the villa. Those directions were fine. The directions given to us by our hosts to find the grocery store were not clear and we got lost. We would recommend written directions instead of the vague map supplied.
Check In Out:
Everything was easy and we were shown great kindness.

Dawn, July

Overall:
Villa Etrusca was such a lovely place to be. Our whole family felt relaxed and even for just a short while, that we lived in Tuscany!
Enjoyed Most:
The view is breathtaking, the home is lovely. Truly, no complaints. We were made to feel so very welcomed by our hosts.
Surrounding Area:
The restauraunts, the sunflowers, the wine!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Foina Della Chiana--about 6 km.
Tips or Restaurants:
Our hosts were very helpful in suggesting local gems, many nice places at reasonable prices.
Directions:
No GPS; the written directions were pretty good but could use a bit of fine tuning at the end. We did find the directions to the grocery store from the owner rather confusing, but found it anyway.

Jann, July

Overall:
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Villa Etrusca. A property to go back to!
Enjoyed Most:
A wonderful property: clean, compact, nicely decorated and wonderfully situated. The pictures are an understatement of the property's beautiful location.
Tips or Restaurants:
Many good restaurants within 15 minute drive. Supermarkets are more than 15 minutes away.
