Overall:
The villa was perfect. It had everything necessary for an amazing week and beautiful views!!
Enjoyed Most:
The view of the sea and the calming clanging of the church bell nearby.
Enjoyed Least:
Steps! Soooo many steps. And parking was far away.
Surrounding Area:
Praiano is a beautiful town. The local people are warm and very kind.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano was a short shuttle bus ride away. Positano is beautiful beyond words!
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring bug spray. Evening promised a fleet of mosquitoes. Our favorite restaurant next to the villa was Tramonto de'Oro. It's a beautiful cliff side hotel/restaurant with breathtaking views. The owner and her family are always present and are so friendly. They go to each table to learn about their guests. Such a nice family.
Directions:
I was given a meeting place to follow the designated villa coordinator. She looked out for my car and we followed her to the parking lot. Parking is limited and expensive!
Check In Out:
Be sure to hire a porter to handle luggage on check in and check out. Many many steps to navigate with luggage!!

Robert, October

Overall:
It was excellent. The villa was very clean and the views were absolutely spectacular.
Enjoyed Most:
The views and the little vegetable garden and the pool, of course.
Enjoyed Least:
People living upstairs.
Surrounding Area:
Close to town. Easy to get groceries, close to restaurants.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano. Yes it was very close. 5 minute walk up 170 steps.
Tips or Restaurants:
Eat at La Strada. Delicious.

Karen, August

Overall:
Overall, the location and the view are perfect for anyone looking to relax on the Amalfi coast. Praiano is a small, quiet town that feels very authentic. The villa is absolutely stunning and we had an amazing time staying there for our honeymoon.
Enjoyed Most:
The view of the Amalfi Coast is incredible from this villa, especially when viewed from the private pool and lawn chair area on the property!
Enjoyed Least:
We had some disruptions as the villa owner's parents live upstairs, and they had men on the roof for an entire day during our stay replacing their A/C units. This detracted from our privacy and it was noisy.
Surrounding Area:
The villa is located at a central location in Praiano, which is close to many of the amazing restaurants within walking range. The bus stop at the top of the stairs was convenient to travel to other places along the coast.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest towns were Positano and Amalfi. Neither were within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
We would highly recommend the San Gennaro pizzeria that is very close to the villa. The local wine there is incredible and the pizza was the best out of everywhere we tried in Italy.
Directions:
The check in process involved a local representative meeting us close to the villa, and bring us to it. This was seamless and there were no problems.

Mark, July

Overall:
Great experience.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the outside areas.
Enjoyed Least:
Only one shower.
Surrounding Area:
Loved the peace and the solitude of Praiano compared to the surrounding towns. Loved the stairs and walkways.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano.
Tips or Restaurants:
Expect the climb up to the town streets. Don't rent a car. Nowhere to park.
Directions:
We used a driver, so no issue.
Check In Out:
The check in and check out process was easy in Praiano.

Rick, October

Overall:
We found a new home away from home! The view was breathtaking, the town was quaint, the location was centrally located and the house was well appointed. The villa provided the most incredible leg of our vacation; we were in Italy for 3 weeks and spent time in Rome, Umbria Venice as well. Our week's stay at Greco allowed us to really experience the Amalfi Coast and all it had to offer. Our kids 10 and 12, enjoyed the pool, a comfortable place for downtime and a home cooked meals most nights. The house provided many memorable moments that will last a lifetime.
Enjoyed Most:
The privacy, pool and view.
Enjoyed Least:
The bathroom with no ventilation was a little musty smelling so everyone ended up using the other bathroom.
Surrounding Area:
Praiano is centrally located on the Amalfi Coast which made it easy to travel from town to town.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano, yes.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you rent a car (which we wouldn't advise because the roads are very narrow, there is limited parking and traffic is horrific) make arrangements for parking ahead of time.
Directions:
The meeting place on our direction sheet was different than where we ended up meeting our agent. We called from the car but it was hard to understand where we were supposed to meet.
Check In Out:
Use the porter service to have your bags taken to the villa. The 186 steps to get to the villa provided great exercise but it's well worth it to pay 5 Euros per bag to have them delivered.

Diane, August

Overall:
My family loved this place from the time we entered the gate! My 15 and 11 year old kids found their way to the hammock very quickly, followed by the pool... The view from the patio was amazing, the pool was a bit small but was just fine for our needs. The interior was clean and well maintained. This one of those places that is better than the pictures you see before you visit.
Enjoyed Most:
The views and decor of the home!
Enjoyed Least:
The climb up to the street was not fun, so this took some getting use to. We decided this was going to be a once-a-day trip only! A nice find was the local grocer delivers for free and the pizzeria/restaurant would meet us halfway for delivery.
Surrounding Area:
Praiano has good options for dinner. We never had a bad meal and we tried at least 4 places there. The bus stopped right in front our street so that was convenient for a trip to Positano which was only 15 minutes by bus.
Tips or Restaurants:
Pack lightly if you can and hire the porters to bring your bags to/from the villa for 5 Euros per bag. It's the best value, trust me! Il Pirata Restaurant, was great; Che Bonta Gastronomia, too. We ate here and they delivered half way to us. A Puteca Minimarket is also good--they have a little of everything and they deliver.
Check In Out:
Check in with Filomena was great; she was waiting for us when our car arrived, ordered the porters for us and showed us all the features of the villa.

Collin, July

Overall:
Very good experience.
Enjoyed Most:
The views are fantastic! Each night after buying a bottle of local wine we would watch the sun set over Capri. What a great experience
Enjoyed Least:
There was not a lot of hot water; to turn it on you had to go outside to flip a switch in a panel
Surrounding Area:
There are some great restaurants in Praiano and it is centrally located between Positano and Amalfi. The church within walking distance was beautiful. The bus was super-convenient as it is located at the top of the steps.
Nearby Events or Locales:
You are in Praiano and it has everything you need - groceries, butcher, alcohol, restaurants, and a few bars, as well.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring good walking shoes and a water bottle for refills !

Marianne, October

Overall:
We had an awesome time! Everything we hoped for--privacy, quiet, and the most amazing views!
Enjoyed Most:
Everything! The view was fabulous!
Enjoyed Least:
The steps....however, no one is ever prepared! But we knew they were coming. And sometimes it was just fun to see how many you could do without a break!
Surrounding Area:
The people were great and very friendly. Luca, who owned the grocery store was on top of everything in town. If you need it he is your man! From matches, to drivers and fabulous local wine!
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest town was Positano, and it was not within walking distance. A quick bus ride is all you need, and a little patience! The buses to all other towns were impossible...over-crowded and could not stop and pick up in our town Praiano. Easier to catch a cab, but pricey. Did not know there was a cab company in Praiano until last day. But again, Luca was our man.
Tips or Restaurants:
I would suggest that if you want to do any excursions...Capri, etc. Plan ahead so you don't spend so much time figuring things out while you're there. Maybe go every other day so you truly enjoy this beautiful property.
Directions:
We used a driver...and the stop you gave us was perfect! Let people know to have the porters waiting upon your arrival..goes quicker and they are so nice. And it was only 5 euros a bag...worth its weight in gold!
Check In Out:
The owners were very accommodating. We were not leaving until later so they let us leave our bags there for an extra 2 hours and we did not have to go down to get them. The nice porters brought them up for us and stayed with them until we connected. Also, make sure more than one person is listening when going through check in as there is a lot of information!

Cheryl , September

Overall:
Very good. The kitchen was well stocked, the check in and check out process was easy, the bathrooms had sufficient towels, the air conditioner worked very well. The view is amazing, although the steps take some getting used to, but were much easier by day 3.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the outside area.
Enjoyed Least:
The noise from the upstairs neighbors. I'm not sure if there was some construction going on but on a few afternoons there was loud music playing.
Surrounding Area:
The view, access to the ocean to swim and relax. Being in the middle of the Amalfi coast was ideal because we were halfway between Positano and Amalfi so we could enjoy everything the area had to offer, including the Path of the Gods.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano is a very nice town with several very good restaurants, several mini-markets that have what you need to cook fine meals, and the SITA bus stop is directly up the stairs from the villa.
Directions:
Everything was sufficient in this regard.

Denise, September

Overall:
Comfortable and very relaxing. Sadly the weather was not warm enough to take advantage of the lovely pool.
Enjoyed Most:
The setting is beautiful. The property is well equipped and very comfortable. Our arrival was warm and welcoming.
Enjoyed Least:
The location was probably a little too isolated for us. We would have preferred to be near a town with more restaurant options.
Surrounding Area:
All the main tourist cities were accessible on a day trip by car.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Iona is a kilometre from the house. The road is unsurfaced and up a not too steep incline.
Tips or Restaurants:
There are two restaurants in Iona. The most interesting menu is at the one in the square. The other is busier but food and service very ordinary.
Check In Out:
Check in and check out went very smoothly thank you. It was the end of the summer and the weather unpredictable so we did not know if air-conditioning would be required or not. To be able to use it there is an additional fee of Euro 100 for the week, which we paid.

Libby, September

Overall:
Overall, we had a wonderful time. It was exactly what we had hoped for.
Enjoyed Most:
The views. They are stunning.
Surrounding Area:
Hearing the church bells ringing. The color of the sea. Swimming at La Pria. The restaurants and of course the gelato!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano. Only 150 steps up from our villa. But worth the walk. A nice little village.
Tips or Restaurants:
We had everything we needed but we didn't eat at the villa so I'm not sure about all the cooking items. They seemed to be there. We really enjoyed La Brace. Great pizza and pasta dishes. You can't go wrong with any of them.
Directions:
We had the villa hire a taxi/van to pick us up and bring us back to the airport. A little pricey but well worth it. Driving on the Amalfi Coast road is not for amateurs.
Check In Out:
The check in process was smooth. The check out was cut a little too close to our van pickup time for the return trip to the airport.

Suzanne, May

Overall:
Top of the line resort-like accommodations. Everything the other reviews say are true and correct about how wonderful this place is. This was October, so the weather was warm to hot in the sun during the day and mild in the evenings.
Enjoyed Most:
The house itself inside. So clean and modern and comfortable.
Enjoyed Least:
I would only add 2 things which ultimately didn't diminish our experience much at all: 1. There is someone living above you with a balcony that is not that far above, but they generally are quiet and keep to themselves (It's the owner's aunt and uncle.) 2. Praiano is a beautiful little village perched on a cliff so almost everything is flights of stairs up or down from the main road. So coming from and going to our little villa was like going down (first) and then back up 8 flights of stairs. We ended up buying a chicken and some steak and cooking at home and never going anywhere rather than brave the stairs.
Surrounding Area:
Amazing views. Walking down the road in either direction gives you great views one after another.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano; not in walking distance but viewable.
Tips or Restaurants:
Definitely amazing fresh fish and lemon risotto at the restaurant that is part of the Hotel I Pini, which is just above the villa on the main road. Hostaria i Pini is fantastic and friendly, helpful staff.
Directions:
Have a driver pick you up and deliver you from Naples. If you're coming from Sorrento, take the bus.
Check In Out:
Everyone involved was absolutely sweet and helpful.

Chris, October

Overall:
Outstanding! Beautiful villa, beautiful location, beautiful views!
Enjoyed Most:
Everything! Plus the attention of the owner during our stay! The property was fully stocked with all supplies/amenities that one might expect to find in a luxury villa.
Surrounding Area:
Amalfi coast and proximity to Positano, Amalfi, Pompei, Sorrento, etc, etc.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano. Yes, although a hike up many steps. You quickly learn that if you want to be in such a beautiful location, you have to invest in some climbing of steps.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa lived up to our expectations, but far exceeded those set by RentVillas information sent in advance. We were ready to be disappointed and were pleasantly surprised upon arrival.
Directions:
Used a limo and driver. Meeting location was easy to find (although changed from the original instructions) and Antonietta and Genarro., the owner, were waiting for us on arrival. Arrival went perfectly!
Check In Out:
Thanks again to Antonietta and Genarro for making our arrival and departure virtually effortless!

Lee, October

Overall:
Wonderful! Was the perfect place to rest and relax and travel to other cities nearby.
Enjoyed Most:
The comfort and peacefulness after a long busy day.
Enjoyed Least:
The steps...but they are everywhere on the Amalfi Coast!!
Surrounding Area:
Absolutely beautiful location and great food.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in the small town of Praiano.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa had pretty much all that one might need. Much more than we expected!! Every restaurant that we tried was great! Did not have one bad meal or experience!
Directions:
Did not have a GPS; we had a driver pick us up in Naples at the train station. The property is located by taking the steps that are right at the "Sita 7" sign for the city bus.
Check In Out:
Antonietta was wonderful and very accommodating. We felt very comfortable knowing that we could call her for any reason during our stay. We were visited by the owner the day after checking in and he too was awesome. Giving us tips and information and his phone number just in case there was anything that we needed.

Betty, September

Overall:
The property was in a great quiet town and was very convenient to other towns. The owner was very friendly and provided a very welcome stay. It was a relaxing, amazing place to spend the second half of our trip to Italy.
Enjoyed Most:
The view was amazing and the kitchen was very well-stocked. We were able to pick vegetables out of the garden and have a real home-cooked Italian meal.
Enjoyed Least:
There are a lot of stairs so be prepared as they are deep and take awhile to get used to.
Surrounding Area:
Great town to be in as it was quiet and it was convenient to other towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The villa is in the town of Praiano, which is a small town. Very nice to walk up to town for dinner and watch the sunset.
Tips or Restaurants:
We were surprised that the place was fairly well-stocked and people had left items that were bought earlier in the season. The grocery store does have most staples and is reasonable priced. Might want to bring mosquito repellent and some sunscreen.
Directions:
Don't drive on the Amalfi Coast - it's crazy and there isn't any parking. The driver met our contact on the main street and we had to walk to the property. This is common.
Check In Out:
Very easy and they all made us feel very welcome and we are ready to come back.

Shannon, September

Overall:
Loved it!!
Enjoyed Most:
Location.
Surrounding Area:
Everything.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano; up 177 steps.
Tips or Restaurants:
Villa was far better-stocked than we expected.

David, September

Overall:
We had a spectacular time. The villa is in every respect perfect, and Gennaro, the owner, was wonderful about helping us to orient ourselves and to see all the sites that interested us. The experience couldn't have been better.
Enjoyed Most:
It's gorgeous, with a breathtaking view. It's also extremely spacious and comfortable and has a lovely little pool and it's in walking distance to the sea. What's not to like??
Enjoyed Least:
We found it flawless, truthfully.
Surrounding Area:
Praiano is a sweet, quiet village, but it has plenty to see and many nice restaurants.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The villa is located in Praiano. Other nearby towns (like Amalfi and Positano) require a bus, but it was easy to manage that.
Tips or Restaurants:
The Vivaro Wine Bar is hands-down the best restaurant, but be prepared to be turned away a couple of times before you're able to get in. It's a tiny place and always busy.
Directions:
We hired a driver from the Naples train station, so we didn't have to worry about finding the place on our own.
Check In Out:
It was all very smooth and efficient.

Claire, July

Overall:
It was perfect.
Enjoyed Most:
There was lots of outdoor space and privacy and the views were to die for!
Surrounding Area:
Praiano is the perfect position for enjoying a visit to the Amalfi Coast. Right between Amalfi and Positano, the town is small and friendly without a lot of tourist traffic.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano. It was 160 steps up!
Tips or Restaurants:
Make sure you don't have any issues with climbing a lot of stairs! It is SO worth it, but everywhere you go is a climb up or down. We really enjoyed Osteria Il Pino and Ristorante di Costa Diva - both in Praiano and walking distance from the villa.
Directions:
Directions were very straightforward.
Check In Out:
Everyone made it SO easy. It was a wonderful experience!

Allison, July

Overall:
Better than we could have imagined. View and property are better in person and manager and owner were so friendly and helpful.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, quietness, layout of the property.
Surrounding Area:
Amazing views, proximity to Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano. Positano is 11 km by bus.
Tips or Restaurants:
Make sure to rent a parking spot before arriving. All restaurant were great. Little market on top of the stairs was great and best quality.
Directions:
Make sure you bring GPS
Check In Out:
People were very helpful. They were there on time waiting for us to direct us to the villa.

Romina, June

Overall:
I have never had a better time on vacation! It was a dream spot, close to markets and a cafe, everyone was SUPER friendly and the villa was immaculate! The property was not only beautiful, but had everything we needed, great appliances, gorgeous outdoor space, and everything else we could ask for!
Enjoyed Most:
One thing?! Everything! We lived outdoors for the week - the fact the property had such a large outdoor space with lots of options for relaxing, eating, suntanning, shade, etc. made it perfect - we hardly were inside other than to cook and sleep!
Surrounding Area:
It was a great little fishing village and we hardly saw any tourists - you felt like you were living there, not just visiting. The markets were fresh, it was easy to do day excursions and everyone was helpful with our Italian! The view was amazing and the accessibilty to the ocean and the main road was easy.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in Praiano and right near the town's center so it was the easiest to get to and took only 180 steps up to get to it.
Tips or Restaurants:
We ate everyday at the villa and cooked from the local market fare. We did eat take out pizza from Gennaro Trattoria one night and it was delicious. Bring sunscreen!
Directions:
We had a driver pick us up from the airport, arranged by RentVillas, and that made it really easy! Otherwise, the Praiano bus stops directly at the top of the stairs to the villa, so it's probably easy to find. I wouldn't drive a car because there's no parking once you get there!
Check In Out:
The process was seamless. We had no trouble and it was quick and easy and they were super helpful with any questions we had about the property, area or what to do while there! We even saw the owner of the property throughout the week at the local cafe and he was always asking how everything was and giving us advice about what to do.

Caitlin, June

Overall:
This villa was absolute paradise. There isn't anything we would have changed and we hope to be back again soon!
Enjoyed Most:
So much beautiful outdoor space.
Surrounding Area:
Very peaceful, friendly community.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Main Street in Praiano was a relatively short walk (up many stairs, however!)
Tips or Restaurants:
Pack light, as you have to carry your luggage up down a lot of stairs.
Directions:
We used a car hire to get to/from the property from Naples. Renting a car for the week would have been very inconvenient. Lots of buses if you want to see the area.

Jill, June
