Customer Reviews

Overall:
It was great! We would love to go back.
Enjoyed Most:
The yard and the fantastic views.
Enjoyed Least:
Lack of lighting in the kitchen. We had to bring in a light from the bedroom and still needed more. Also very limited dishware. There were 6 of us and we had exactly 6 bowls, 6 plates, 6 glasses.
Surrounding Area:
Villa was on a hilltop and it was peaceful and quiet. Plus we could not get enough of the gorgeous views. Spent a lot of time outdoors, day and night!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Certaldo; too far to walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
We did a lot of cooking at the villa. The COOP was a great place to shop. Would recommend the chef-prepared meal.

Overall:
It was a vacation of a lifetime! We will remember our days there relaxing, enjoying the view, grilling on the outdoor grill, cooking delicious meals and having a meal cooked for us in the modern kitchen and swimming laps in the pool! The owner Francesco was just great and provided a lot of help in making our stay more enjoyable.
Enjoyed Most:
The location and views were right off a postcard. The property itself was very nice and well maintained.
Enjoyed Least:
The lighting in the kitchen could have been better.
Surrounding Area:
It was close to many small towns and wineries that we visited.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were close to Certaldo which is very clean and quaint. It was not within easy walking distance, but a short drive in the car we rented.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you are driving, bring a working cell phone and Google Maps. We used it all the time with great accuracy. (We don't speak any Italian)
Directions:
We used the directions and went to the right street but went past it and ended up calling the property where Francesco, the owner happened to be working and he met us in town and we followed him back.
Check In Out:
We had to check-out the night before due to early flights out of Rome and Francesco was just great in meeting us the evening before and taking care of that.

Overall:
Exceeded expectations! Absolutely wonderful!
Enjoyed Most:
Everything was wonderful! Can't choose a favorite feature.
Surrounding Area:
Conveniently located. Easily accessible to main attraction cities by car and train.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The center of Certaldo was less than 10 minutes away by car. San Gimignano was just 20 minutes away by car.
Tips or Restaurants:
The farmhouse has sufficient and free WiFi.
Directions:
Use car-provided WiFi, if you're able. Both Garmin and Waze did not give clear and accurate directions.
Check In Out:
The farmhouse owner and check in/check out team were excellent. In addition to a smooth process, they provided assistance in locating grocery stores, local restaurants and the train.

Overall:
Maybe the best vacation ever. Great location, near train station, markets and easy road access to many small Tuscan cities and town. Great history and very friendly people. We were there a month. Plenty of relaxed time, but lots to do as well. Can't say enough. Also the sister of the owner is the cook...which we would highly recommend.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location. It was hot...great infinity pool looking over the Tuscan mountains and valleys. Plenty of room for 8 people, but you'll spend most of your time there outside.
Enjoyed Least:
It was a little "buggy". No air, but it cooled at night to the mid 60's. You would absolutely need a car.
Surrounding Area:
Many, many small Italian towns and villages. You got a feeling like you lived there.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Certaldo; it was not within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
RentVillas had a great list of what to bring. The tram to Certaldo Alto is also a fun easy way to get there.
Directions:
Don't try to drive there at night the first time. We used an app the came with the iPhone...but there are a lot of areas where there is no service. Take travelers to Certaldo proper and go from there. Our directions seemed confusing...but we were tired and it was dark. The GPS would sometimes tell you to turn on a certain road by it's Italian name and you passed it or couldn't see it in the dark.
Check In Out:
We missed our connection in Frankfurt. The owner of the villa picked up our son at the train station, took him grocery shopping and to the villa. They are the nicest people we've ever met.
