Customer Reviews

Overall:
Fantastic! Roberta was very nice and extremely helpful.
Enjoyed Most:
The view from our apartment. It was absolutely stunning.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing. Everything was wonderful.
Surrounding Area:
Great eateries and boat access to the Cinque Terre. The town was very quiet and beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Portovenere. Apartment is located in the town.
Tips or Restaurants:
Roberta provided a book of the area including things to do nd recommended eateries, which was very helpful.
Directions:
Roberta's son met us at the train station in La Spezia and drove us to the property. He was very nice and helpful.

Overall:
Our visit was absolutely fabulous. The villa has everything you need during your visit.
Enjoyed Most:
The view is fantastic and the general layout of the place makes it easy and comfortable to enjoy. The owner is a delight to meet.
Enjoyed Least:
There wasn't anything that we disliked. For some people going up 3 flights of stairs might be a problem but even though we are in our 70s it was not an issue with us.
Surrounding Area:
This was walking distance to everything you needed in Portovenere. The beach was across the street and a market was easy walking distance.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in Portovenere and everything from a market to the boats that go to Cinque Terre were easy walking distance
Tips or Restaurants:
We ate at 2 restaurants recommended by the owner and both we good - Timone (which is very close) and 3 Torri in the town center.
Directions:
We were picked up at La Spezia Train station so didn't need directions.
Check In Out:
Very easy for us.

Overall:
Absolutely wonderful. One of the nicest places we have stayed for vacation. I hope we can return.
Enjoyed Most:
The marvelous, peaceful, always entertaining view of the sea and the boats from the property's long balcony, meals on the balcony, the town of Portovenere, the hospitality and professionalism of the owner and her representatives.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing at all to dislike about the property or Portovenere. The nearby Cinque Terre towns are beautiful, but are a tourist magnet to the point that they are very unpleasantly crowded.
Surrounding Area:
Portovenere is a perfect and unusual little town, stunningly beautiful and remarkably peaceful for a tourist destination. The short walk from the villa to the main part of town passes a nice little beach (where we enjoyed swimming), restaurants, shops, boat docks, and a little park and playground. The extremely close island of Palmeria is a really nice "extra" place to explore for a beach day or hike.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Portovenere and the island of Palmeria. The property is basically IN Portovenere. Palmeria is a 10-min boat ride from the town.
Tips or Restaurants:
Getting up early to walk around town and to its highest point is a joy. You don't really need a car. However, we cooked most nights (which was great), and while the town's little grocery store and shops are adequate, they do not have as many choices as would be available if one had a car to go to the larger grocery stores in nearby towns.
Directions:
We did not drive to the property.
Check In Out:
Everything went very smoothly and reliably.

Overall:
We absolutely LOVED our stay! The view and the apartment are outstanding.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and location. Easy to walk to town for eating and touring the Cinque Terre. We loved having our coffee every morning and wine in the evening on the deck while watching the boats come in an out of the harbor. It was so difficult to leave at the end of our stay! Also, the beds were comfortable and many choices for making coffee. We had everything we needed.
Enjoyed Least:
The small bathroom didn't have much counter space, but it didn't really ruin our stay.
Surrounding Area:
We took the boat to the Cinque Terre towns several times to hike and eat. Also, the town of Portovenere is charming with many excellent places to eat. We also hired the owner's son to take us wine tasting. Really enjoyed the winery as well us our lunch with him.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Portovenere is the nearest town. An easy 5 minute walk from the apartment.
Tips or Restaurants:
The only thing I'd mention is there are two flights of stairs leading up to the apartment entrance and several more to the unit itself. Not a problem for us, but if mobility is an issue might be important to know. We ate at all the restaurants the owner Roberta recommended. They were all delicious. We stay with the local cuisine of the area, which is seafood. Also, tried the local pesto. Excellent! I'm gluten intolerant and all the restaurants were very accommodating. One restaurant in Corniglia even ran across the street to buy gluten-free pasta. It turned out to be the best meal I had in the Cinque Terre.
Directions:
We hired a driver to pick us up at the airport. The owner Roberta actually picked us up. She is lovely. Not only did she pick us up, but she took us to the grocery store.
