Customer Reviews

Overall:
This was a delightful experience. The villa is located in a very serene and beautiful place, high on a hill, with outstanding views toward the South. It was mostly cloudy and cool while we were there, so perhaps we didn't get the full effect of the views, but it was lovely, peaceful and quiet. We loved being able to walk to 2 hill towns, Fayence and Tourrettes, both interesting and quaint.
Enjoyed Most:
The outstanding location, views, beautiful gardens and delightful, heated swimming pool. There's even a stream with little waterfalls on the property.
Enjoyed Least:
Pretty sparse linens on the beds.
Surrounding Area:
Being in the countryside and enjoying Provence like a local. We visited local Boulangeries for croissants and cappuccino each morning and sampled some very good restaurants in the area. We shopped the farmers market in Fayence, and just enjoyed being in that location. We visited Nice, Antibes, and Grasse, but since the weather was cool and mostly overcast, the Cote D'Azur wasn't a high point. Mons was another hill town to the North, and it was also very interesting and worth a drive.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Tourettes was an easy walk from our villa, and very enjoyable to explore...it also provided easy access to Fayence, a larger hill town.
Tips or Restaurants:
There are a number of good restaurants in Fayence which we enjoyed.
Directions:
We used the instructions given to us by the owners...at the end, this was particularly helpful, as you must turn off the main road to a steep driveway which is easy to miss. Landmarks are essential.
Check In Out:
Easy and carefree. Paul and Guiellematte are cordial and warm hosts. We felt comfortable asking them for help and recommendations from time to time. They were delightful in every way.

Overall:
This property was AMAZING! Everything was like living a dream. The location is close to anything you could want to do, the French Riviera, Gorges Du Verdon, picturesque medieval towns, and the house was beautiful overlooking a valley with an awesome pool and your own spring-fed waterfall. I cannot recommend this property enough.
Enjoyed Most:
Everything, really. We loved the private waterfall, pool, and view. We also really liked our walks to Tourettes and Fayence. The property owners were amazing. Paul and Guiellemette are wonderful people who give you all the privacy you need but are there in an instant to help in anyway. The property is amazing!
Enjoyed Least:
I hated to leave after two weeks. We were living the dream.
Surrounding Area:
The picturesque views of the valley, the beautiful towns of Tourettes and Fayence walking distance. The peace and serenity. Beautiful!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Both Tourettes and Fayence are walking distance. We have twin nine year olds who easily made the walk with us. Fayence is where the Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday markets are. Beautiful town.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring some water shoes, the property has this beautiful spring fed waterfall and to explore it properly it helps to have the water shoes. I promise you are going to want to explore.
Directions:
We used GPS most of the way, and then turned the GPS off and followed the instructions from the property owners and we found it straight away.
Check In Out:
Paul and Guiellemette are two of the nicest most generous people I have met. I cannot say enough great things about them.

Overall:
We had an absolutely wonderful time. The pool was perfect and the guys loved the creek with the water falls.
Enjoyed Most:
It was walking distance to an old town and a long walk to another town. The villa was lovely, the hosts were very helpful and kind. The pool was fantastic. The lavender and butterfly bushes were in full bloom.
Enjoyed Least:
That we had to leave after 2 weeks!!
Surrounding Area:
Close to many old walled towns. Ah,the patisserie was 4 min. away by car. Close to Nice, a wonderful sandy beach, and Grasse. A day trip from the Grande Canyon of Verdon.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Tourrettes was maybe 10 min. walking. Fayence was maybe another 10 min away from Tourrettes.
Tips or Restaurants:
Fayence has some good restaurants.
Directions:
A map with details on it would have been great to have! 23 of our party wandered around for awhile.
Check In Out:
The hosts were great!

Overall:
It was a wonderful oasis for the the entire family. It was a great base of operations for Roman France and the facilities were so great - especially the pool and terrace. I was so sad to leave!
Enjoyed Most:
I really loved the pool facilities and the terrace - the ability to indulge in outdoor living and soak up the French sun and enjoy the beautiful summer weather.
Enjoyed Least:
The worst thing was leaving. Also, because we were in a country locale there were bugs, but the house had bus spray readily available for us which was very thoughtful.
Surrounding Area:
I loved that Tourrettes and Fayence were within quite easy walking distance. I also loved how peaceful the area was and yet there were the necessary conveniences (e.g., grocery) within a quite easy drive. It was also great as a base of operations for touring the Provence and Roman France.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Tourrettes was the nearest village followed by Fayence - both were within easy walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Ensure that you bring bug spray and sun block if you travel in the summer time. Also be sure to walk into Fayence during the market days - I would suggest early in your stay so you can partake of the local goods during your stay. Any of the restaurants in Fayence are very good. Also if you like fabric there is a very nice fabric store in Fayence.
Directions:
We used GPS to get around the area but we took the advice of the owner and did not use GPS to get to the villa but instead used their directions, which were very good and easy to follow.
Check In Out:
The check in/check out process went very well. We checked in a little early as we had a tired baby with us and the owner was perfectly willing to accommodate the baby's needs and even helped us by providing a crib, high chair and some toys!

Overall:
Excellent! This is a thoughtfully designed & beautiful property with everything you need for a week or two stay (or longer!). We were thrilled, and have highly recommended it to friends. The house, its plantings, and its interior fit the countryside well, and are wonderfully comfortable. Did not see a single scorpion, much to my son's dismay. The keyholders are British and absolutely lovely, warm and welcoming. Couldn't ask for better hosts, they are truly interested in ensuring you have a great vacation, are close by if you need but you may rarely see them.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool. As a mom of youngish kids, I am glad that the pool was not right outside the house door so I don't need to worry about the kids being there unsupervised. It is under lock & key but not far at all, and was easy for me to make lunch in the house and bring it down on a tray. Of course with a kitchen (and toilet) poolside, there really is no need to leave the pool! The view is stunning, not another house in sight, beautiful flowers, decorated and designed with great taste. The veranda is great for morning coffee, and the French doors make the house feel one with the beautiful surroundings. (So well done!) Don't miss the waterfall! The sound of rushing water is great background noise; the stream turns out to be quite small, friendly and beautiful.
Enjoyed Least:
Not really unpleasant, but the staircase to the second floor is a spiral that is a little tight for the less nimble. My mother-in-law couldn't go up and down it (she uses a cane). Also, Americans may not be used to the lack of window screens and potential for mosquitoes in the later part of the day (none in the morning). But we just shut everything up at night. The second floor bedrooms have air conditioners.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Go up into Fayence; a postcard perfect town with great authenticity, and so well maintained. (My 10 year old daughter said Fayence was her favorite part of our trip.) Its a treat to "find" it. Walk through Tourettes. If you are in San Tropez, there are restaurants in the flea market area that are good, we had a great waiter at Le Cafe. San Raphael is a great family beach town. Check out the Roman ruins in Frejus, although they may be under renovation. Monaco harbor has fun things for the kids, such as a small roller coaster.
Tips or Restaurants:
Enjoyed delicious meals at Les Temps de Cerise and at Le France in Fayence, but many great restaurants there. Be sure to go to the square in the evening for markets and music and to see the church; priests in cassocks listening to the music added to the other-worldly scene.
