Customer Reviews

Overall:
Excellent.
Enjoyed Most:
The view was awesome.
Surrounding Area:
Positano and Montepertuso.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso was a 10 minute walk with great restaurants.
Tips or Restaurants:
Have to eat at Il Ritrovo in the village of Montepertuso.
Directions:
Need a GPS.

Andrew, September

Overall:
Exceptional visit!
Enjoyed Most:
The view is breathtaking and location extremely convenient.
Enjoyed Least:
The pillows were quite thick.
Surrounding Area:
The immediate surrounding area was breathtakingly beautiful and accessible via the bus, which ran so often it was easy to maneuver on our own schedule.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The town of Montepertuso was so convenient for shopping and dining, and the people were extremely friendly.
Tips or Restaurants:
I would bring a wash cloth - there are only hand, kitchen and bath towels - otherwise everything was exceptionally and conveniently provided.
Directions:
We had a driver from Naples who contacted the local representative and they worked it out.
Check In Out:
Everybody and everything was very pleasant and well organized.

Michelle, April

Overall:
We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at this property (September 20 to October 3) and really felt like we were residents rather than tourists.
Enjoyed Most:
the view was spectacular, the privacy on the terrace was lovely, and the relative ease of living--easy walk to Montepertuso for groceries, easy bus transportation to and from Positano and beyond--and general comfort in our accommodations were very enjoyable.
Enjoyed Least:
the walk up the 85 steps at the start of each day's outing were just a little more exercise than we wanted before getting warmed up--but in all seriousness, not really a problem. It would have been nice if Montepertuso had a little larger grocery store, but it actually wasn't much different than the small stores scattered around Positano.
Surrounding Area:
The spectacular scenery, of course, but also the location away from the busy-ness of Positano. It was easy to do day visits to the other sites in the area including Sorrento, Capri, Praiano, Amalfi and Ravello, and by train from Sorrento, Pompeii. They were all well worth the visit, and since we relied on the SITA buses, the trips on those narrow mountain roads that offered amazing views around every corner were exciting.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso was a few minutes walk from the property. the next town in that direction is Nocelle, and it is well worth the 45 minute or so walk, which actually comprises part of the "Path of the Gods" trek.
Tips or Restaurants:
Renters should be told to buy a stack of the local bus tickets at the Tabacchi shop in Montepertuso, which cost 1.30 Euro for each trip to or from Positano (and 40 cents more if you buy them on the bus). The walk through Montepertuso to Nocelle for lunch at Ristorante Santa Croce in a must although we didin't do it, we learned about the "path of the Gods" hiking trail across mountainous terrain towards Praiano and beyond while we were there good hiking gear--boots and walking sticks--would help those who choose to do this hike. The hike up the marked trail from Montepertuso to the "hole in the mountain" for which the town is named is worth the climb. Both Il Ritrovo and Dona Rosa restaurants in Montepertuso are very enjoyable for fine dining.
Directions:
We arranged car transfer to and from Naples airport, which was money well spent. We used our GPS for walking but didn't need to rely on directions to the property.
Check In Out:
Philomene checked us in and out of the property very efficiently and was very efficient and helpful in orienting us and dealing with our questions.

Doug, September

Overall:
It was a perfect retreat. At first I was concerned our location was too remote, and for some it may be. But after day trips to Positano, Ravello, Capri, Amalfi, and Praiano, it was so nice to return to the peace and quiet of Montepertuso.
Enjoyed Most:
The terrace view, the stairs leading from the villa to the street (even the trips up and down were scenic), owner Raffaele, his family and his adorable dog, who greeted us morning, noon and night. We also loved the café up the road The women working there were genuinely kind and fun.
Enjoyed Least:
Can't think of anything I didn't like.
Surrounding Area:
The views of Montepertuso and the mountain air. The quiet and absence of crowds.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso is within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
We liked Il Ritrovo. Donna Rosa was good but a little too formal, and very expensive.
Directions:
We had a driver pick us up from Naples airport he also brought us back to the airport 10 days later. He was really engaging, smart and knowledgeable, filling us in on the current scene in Italy.

Catherine, July

Overall:
The experience was amazing! It felt like being in paradise. The location was great for what we wanted to do and having great restaurants within a 10 minute walk was the best!
Enjoyed Most:
I loved the location. You could walk to the town of Montepertuso (just a 10-minute walk) or down the mountain to Positano. The view was spectacular.
Enjoyed Least:
The 85 steps when carrying your luggage. Other than those 2 times, the steps were fine.
Surrounding Area:
I loved the location. You could walk to the town of Montepertuso (just a 10-minute walk) or down the mountain to Positano. The best restaurant - Il Ritrovo - was just a short walk from the villa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso (just a 10-minute walk).
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring wash clothes and your own coffee.
Directions:
We had a driver.
Check In Out:
It was very efficient and the people were extremely friendly and helpful.

Annette, June

Overall:
Great experience, very relaxing!
Enjoyed Most:
The view of the town and The Mediterranean are breathtaking from the balcony.
Surrounding Area:
The walk down the steps to the beach in Positano was a great way to start the day.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We walked to the small town of Montepurtoso every day to go to the market and restaurants. Approximately a 5-minute walk from the villa.

Rick, June

Overall:
Very nice, small property exactly as advertised. Loved the location and access to Montepertuso (walking) and Positano (walk or bus right outside property). Beautiful views. Many options as to how to spend time--definitely an outside-property, which we enjoyed.
Enjoyed Most:
Great views, great terrace, secure car parking onsite (which is definitely not always available in the coastal area), nice kitchen facilities (we bought food at the market in Montepertuso and ate dinner in every night), great bathroom and washing machine.
Enjoyed Least:
New pillows for the bed would be appreciated. They were kind of lumpy bumpy and there were only two of them. We fought over who would get the best one.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful scenery everywhere you go. Driving is somewhat challenging at first, but definitely fun and a great way to see the various coastal towns like Amalfi, Atrani, Ravello. Positano is fun for exploring, shopping, eating, walking the steps, etc. The terrace at the apartment is great for eating outside, or having drinks - private with tremendous views.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Easy walk to Montepertuso (about half a mile) which we did several times for food shopping, church, and sightseeing. You can walk down the steps to Positano, but coming back up will take a little while and wear you out. The bus is very convenient.
Tips or Restaurants:
As in any marine climate the weather can be changeable. Bring a bit of everything. We used windbreakers/light rain gear frequently, as early/late in the day temps can fall or rain can come and go (in April). Most anything you might need you can get in Montepertuso or Positano. If you get in shape before you go, the steps will be easy - and they are everywhere. We left in way better shape than when we arrived. See other coastal towns if time allows - you can go by car, bus or boat from Positano. Ravello was our favorite, with Amalfi close second. Capri was a disappointment - crowded boat trip, very touristy, and really no better than the coastal towns, but we had to see it. Restaurants from our lunch experiences Il Ritrovo in Montepertuso was nice and staff was superbly kind to us Caffe Positano was great food and views - little pricey but worth it. Capricci by the Spiaggia Grande was good for tasty, reasonably priced lunch.
Directions:
Directions were perfect, and we did not have a GPS. I checked the route on Google maps before we went, and we had no trouble. The agent met us just outside Positano, and we followed her up the hill to the house. Finding the exact house without help the first time might be tough.
Check In Out:
No comments. It was smooth and everyone, including the property owner, was very helpful.

Derek, April

Overall:
Very relaxing, very pleasant.
Enjoyed Most:
I felt I was ON the Mediterranean. And the people were marvelous at the property, in Montepertuso, at the shops - everywhere.
Enjoyed Least:
The furniture was uncomfortable. (And there was no cheese grater! All that luscious parmigiano and romano and no cheese grater!) Editor’s Note: A cheese grater will be added to the kitchen. July, 2013
Surrounding Area:
Positano is beautiful, from every angle, at every level. And a sea cruise or two are in order, at least to Amalfi and to Capri.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso yes, maybe 500 meters up the road.
Tips or Restaurants:
Everything will depend on your age. In Positano, beyond sunbathing, shopping and dining, there is nothing to do. For aging coots, like us, bring books and serious good walking shoes - and a good walking stick. There is a very good little grocery in Montepertuso (Marrone New Shop Piazza Cappella, Via Montepertuso, 83 tel e fax 089 87 53 88) and right across the street, our favorite eatery Ristorante Il Ritrovo Via Montepertuso, 77 tel 089 81 20 05. Try the local lamb, the Greek octopus, the pasta - in fact, try everything. Excellent, excellent.
Directions:
The local agent must meet you and take you there, at least the first time, which they do. We used a private car transport to and from Naples. While there we used public transportation. The bus runs from down, literally "down" town Positano, to the property entrance every hour for 1,20.
Check In Out:
Daniella was there, working with Antonietta. Again, excellent.

Ted, June

Overall:
We really enjoyed the property. It was beautiful, the location was great. Walking to Montepertuso for groceries in the market worked out well and having restaurants available fairly close was a nice feature. The owner was very pleasant and Francesca was very helpful and welcoming.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and comfort. It was nice to have WiFi. We loved Il Ritrovo restaurant which was within walking distance. The food, ambiance, and staff were wonderful. Great experience.
Enjoyed Least:
There were a lot of steps. Took a little bit to get used to the bus route.
Surrounding Area:
Positano was beautiful, the shops, the beaches, and overall atmosphere. It was helpful to have buses to surrounding areas like Ravello, Amalfi, etc.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso was in walking distance with market and restaurant
Tips or Restaurants:
It was a long distance to travel from Tuscany to Positano on public transportation. Took almost a whole day and a lot of changes; there's no direct way. That was a bit overwhelming and the roads, cliffs, curves took some getting used to. Again Il Ritrovo was the best. We also enjoyed the local pizza restaurant-- great pizza and house wine for a great price.
Directions:
Francesca spoke to the taxi driver, which was cheaper than booking a car. She then met us to direct the driver to the property.
Check In Out:
It went smoothly. We missed out on a day because to fly out of Rome we had to leave a day early.

Jane, June

Overall:
The property was very clean and efficient. Everything we needed was provided. The view from the deck/patio was breathtaking and private.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved being away from the tourist area of Italy and our town, Positano. We had a private 'villa' for a week and could choose to come and go as much as we liked, enjoying the quiet and then being able to partake in the local opportunities.
Enjoyed Least:
The living room had one ceiling light only. A reading or side lamp would have been nice for ambiance. (I dislike large, bright lighting).
Surrounding Area:
We loved the view of the town and the mountain. We loved watching as we had our morning coffee the cars and buses below, zipping past each other as they zig-zagged through the town with the 'beep, beep, beep' as a warning at each corner.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso. This was 75 steps up from our 'home' to the road, and a ten minute walk to the village. There we found a tiny grocery shop with breakfast supplies and Il Ritrovo, a restaurant we ate at 4 of our 7 days 'in town'. The walk along the town pathway was delightful each night, especially as the weather got better each night we were there (late April).
Tips or Restaurants:
Il Ritrovo, I already mentioned. The 2nd amazing restaurant was La Tagliata, a little further past Montepertuso. The first night we took the hourly Montepertuso bus, the 2nd, they picked us up. A culinary experience at 35 Euro per person (no menu). As far as the residence, we brought our own coffee and we were thrilled there was a good coffee pot. The local bus is an outstanding resource. Walk or bus down to ferry or town. Bus home!
Directions:
We travelled from Rome to Naples by train. To Sorrento by train, and to Positano by bus. Forget the 'transfer', the three part excursion was a great 'tour' of Italy, the people and views. We stepped off the bus and there was our key holder! The reverse trip to Rome was equally wonderful.
Check In Out:
Worked very well for us. No surprises.

Kathryn, April

Overall:
Our apartment was very comfortable and the view was amazing! The owner, a very nice and helpful man, assisted us with our bags so the stairs were a non-issue! You climb everywhere you go on the Amalfi Coast--it's part of its charm! Our overall experience could not have been better!
Enjoyed Most:
We enjoyed its location--a good jumping off point to visit anywhere on the Amalfi peninsula, Capri, plus Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum, etc. The view was drop-down-dead gorgeous! The property is within walking distance of Montepertuso where there is a delightful restaurant called Il Ritrovo. There is a charming grocery store next door which supplied all our needs. The apartment had everything we needed and the owner had little extras in the kitchen that helped us get settled at the outset of our stay. Having a safe place to park our car was a real bonus!
Surrounding Area:
We loved being able to take a bus to Positano, enjoyed the proximity to Montepertuso and everywhere we traveled on and off the peninsula was gorgeous! The driving on the Amalfi Coast is truly possible once you get used to the road and drivers.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso and yes, it was about a 5-minute walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
We found microfiber cloths helpful for all kinds of purposes and also plastic storage bags for wet items that you have to pack. As mentioned above, we highly recommend Il Ritrovo--delicious food and very friendly staff! You become like family to them!
Directions:
We had a GPS; it took a couple of phone calls in order for us to find the local representative.
Check In Out:
Yes, check-in went very smoothly and it was very helpful to be able to speak in English and have our questions answered by the local representative.

Carol Ann, April

Overall:
We could not have chosen a better place to spend our week in Positano. Our accommodation far exceeded our expectations, and our hosts filled the fridge and the pantry with groceries that keep us going for most of our week.
Enjoyed Most:
The location of this property was excellent, the view of Positano from our terrace was just magic, and we could not have asked for a better place to stay.
Surrounding Area:
The village of Montepertuso, with its many wonderful ristorantes was our favourite place, especially Il Ritrovo, where we had the best meal of our entire Italian holiday.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest small town was Montepertuso, about 5 minutes walk from the property.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is nothing you need to bring when you stay at this property. There are a number of really good ristorantes in Montepertuso. Our favorite was Il Ritrovo.

Julia, October

Overall:
Our overall experience at Brezza di Mare was extremely enjoyable! The villa was the perfect size for the two of us, was in a great location (up the mountain and away from the noise and crowds of Positano), and the views were magnificent!!
Enjoyed Most:
The view off the terrace overlooking Positano and the Mediterranean Sea. It is stunning. It is beautiful. It defies description. Additionally, there is a local bus stop right near the villa driveway. The bus takes you out to Nocelle, or down the mountain to Positano. The fridge and cupboard came stocked with supplies, which was a nice touch. And the villa owner, Rafaele was very helpful in getting our car parked, helping to carry our luggage, and showing us how everything worked. Later in the week he even gave us fresh fruit from his garden!!
Enjoyed Least:
Some reviews complained about the 86 steps to walk up to the street. Even though my wife and I are retired we did not find the steps to be a problem at all (except when carrying the luggage down and and back up!).
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding area is charming. If you enjoy hiking, you MUST hike the Buca di Montepertuso (its a hole in the mountain) and the Path of the Gods (catch the local bus to Nocelle). Also, take a day at the beach in Positano, and while there book your boat ride to Capri (at least 1-2 days in advance).
Nearby Events or Locales:
The town of Montepertuso is only a 5-minute walk up the road (after you climb the 86 steps to the road). Take the fork to the left--it's shorter. The town is quaint, has a couple of very good restaurants (we recommend Donna Rosa and Il Ritrovo), and has small shops for getting essentials.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you are down in Positano try the restaurant at the Poseidon Hotel. It is away from the beach area so its a bit of a walk, but its a nice place to visit and have a good outdoor lunch with a great view. Driving around the Amalfi coast is challenging and requires a great deal of confidence--it can be done but be prepared. Bring a GPS with an Italy map, or rent one. DON'T drive in Positano, take the local bus (if you buy your tickets in Montepertuso they are a little cheaper then buying them on the bus).
Directions:
We brought our TomTom GPS with us; we had previously purchased the Central Europe map (80) and it worked PERFECTLY throughout all of Italy (we drove the Amalfi Coast, Rome, Florence, and eastern and southern Tuscany).

Doug, June

Overall:
The opportunity to reside in a small community like Montepertuso was unique. It offered us the opportunity to meet the local residents and share some of our lives and experiences. This is invaluable.
Enjoyed Most:
The view of Positano and the sea was breathtaking. Also, the foodstuffs provided in the Arrive & Relax package were simply fantastic. This is certainly a big plus for this property.
Enjoyed Least:
The climb up and down the stairway, although we knew about this feature, was taxing at times, especially with luggage. Also, several times during the week there was smoke from local residents burning trash or refuse. This permeated the rental apartment and was an annoyance.
Surrounding Area:
The quiet and tranquility, the small village of Montepertuso, the local restaurants, and the local grocery store were all assets for this rental property.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso is a short walk from the property; there is a nice grocery store and restaurants.
Tips or Restaurants:
We had dinner at Ristorante Scirocco, owned by the Amendola family, on our last night in Montepertuso. The food, service, atmosphere, and friendliness of the staff is nothing short of outstanding. This is a rare opportunity to indulge in fine Italain cooking by Chef/Owner Pasquale Amendola. Save room for his homemade desserts!
Check In Out:
Antonietta and her assistant, Filomena, were skilled and helpful in getting us located and settled in the property. We used a transfer service from Napoli Centrale Stazione to Monepertuso and this service is invaluable.

Raymond , June

Overall:
Magnificent, more than we could have hoped for.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and location close to (walking distance) the wonderful little town of Montepertuso.
Enjoyed Least:
There was nothing to dislike about the property.
Surrounding Area:
The restaurants and access to everything we wanted. The small store in Montepertuso had everything we needed.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso and Positano were both within walking distance. Of course the return trip to the villa from Positano was all uphill and the bus was a fun ride for 1.40 Euros.
Tips or Restaurants:
Three great restaurants. All in Montepertuso. Donna Rosa's, Ristorante Scirocco, and Trattoria Il Ritrovo. Advice: Drive the entire Amalfi Highway, visit all of the small towns, drive back over the mountains and find those little hidden treasures.
Directions:
Use a GPS. Parking in town to meet your guide is a nightmare but enjoy the challenge. We called our GPS Joan Wilder after "Romancing the Stone". "What have you gotten us into now, Joan Wilder."
Check In Out:
Easy and no hassle.

Donald, May

Overall:
We had a really lovely time, despite the fact that it rained for 5 of the 7 days that we were at this property!
Enjoyed Most:
The view was amazing, though the coast road and the local bus were a bit scary at first! We loved the fact that when we arrived, tired and wet from a day's traveling, the fridge and cupboard were well stocked so we didn't have to rush around to get supplies.
Enjoyed Least:
The stairs! But we were well warned about this.
Surrounding Area:
We loved the scenery along the Amalfi coast.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso is within walking distance. Some good little markets/shops. Positano is accessible by the local bus, which runs once an hour.
Tips or Restaurants:
My husband says the Limoncello is better from Sorrento than from Positano!! Also, be careful of some of the cafes in Positano, the price more than doubles if you want to eat your cake at a table rather than take it away--a 2 Euro eclaire became 5 Euros.
Directions:
We were met by the lovely agent who we then followed to the property--it was all very easy.

Karina, April

Overall:
One of complete rest and relaxatoin. The view from our balcony was picture postcard beautiful.
Enjoyed Most:
The view from our balcony and the supply of food and related items that were waiting for us.
Enjoyed Least:
The 84 steps from our villa to the street were a bit challenging, but kept us in shape.
Surrounding Area:
The restaurants and the local people.
Nearby Events or Locales:
A small town with a square was within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurant named Sciorroco was very good and within walking distance. I would encourage guests to bring some sort of water shoes for the beach, since the shore is rocky, and hurts your feet.
Directions:
We arranged to have a taxi pick us up at the Naples train station, which made everything very easy.

Raymond, July

Overall:
Absolutely first rate. Our week at Brezza di Mare was the highlight of our two-week trip to Italy. The views from the terrace overlooking Positano are amazing. The owner, Raffaele, provided us with ample groceries, gave us fresh lemons and lettuce from his garden. A wonderful host!!!
Enjoyed Most:
Aside from the scenic splendor, the property was very quiet as it sits above Positano. The property had things that we didn't expect such as screen doors, screened windows, and air-conditioning that added to our comfort.
Enjoyed Least:
For some, the number of steps down and up from the property could be an issue, although not for us. Raffaele carried our heavy bags down and up again at the end, insisting on being helpful to us. Again, our thanks to him.
Surrounding Area:
Positano, itself, is a jewel along the coastline with many shops and restaurants. Tours along the Amalfi coastline, trips to the towns of Amalfi, Ravello, and the island of Capri are all easily accomplished by boat tours or by the convenient Sita buses.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso is within easy walking distance, approximately five minutes from our lodgings. There are a couple of grocery stores and three highly rated restaurants in Montepertuso.
Tips or Restaurants:
We especially enjoyed Donna Rosa restaurant in Montepertuso as well as Bruno's, La Zagara for deserts in Positano. The Capri Ristorante on Capri was also very good.
Directions:
Rentvillas arranged to have a driver pick us up at Naples train station and deliver us to Brezza di Mare. He was prompt and courteous in manner.
Check In Out:
Antonietta met us at the property and was very helpful in answering our questions and providing us with maps, bus routes, schedules. She was back on our final day, to give back our security deposit, in advance of our departure time.

William, May

Overall:
Wonderful!!! Living away from the crowd was great. Living near a small village was a great opportunity to see how the real Italian people live. A great way to practice your Italian if you have any!!!
Enjoyed Most:
Very convenient for the local bus to Positano and Amalfi. Easy drive to Sorrento. The view was positively spectacular day or night with the moon shining on the sea. Secure parking.
Enjoyed Least:
No regrets!!!
Surrounding Area:
The town of Montepertuso was convenient, the people very friendly, the restaurants were super: Il Retrovo and Donna Rosa. We will try them all next time. Small grocery store was perfect for what we needed.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso is 5 to 10 minutes away by foot - very convenient after a late dinner. We should have explored Nocelle further up the mountain.
Tips or Restaurants:
Small flashlight is a good idea, and a lighter for candles and BBQ. A small cheese grater for fresh Parmesan would be helpful. Everything that we needed seemed to be there. The groceries in the apartment were much appreciated and introduced us to the local fresh produce which was delicious including the wine.
Directions:
We called the local agent and she met us on the coastal road and brought us to the property. What wonderful people!!!
Check In Out:
It could not have been better. Teresa explained everything about the area buses, restaurants, places to see and contacts in case of problems. Antonietta even arranged for Rafaello to help us with bringing our luggage up to the car on leaving---much appreciated, Thank you!

Donald Patrick, June

Overall:
Overall this was a great place to stay on the Amalfi Coast! It was exciting to get to the spot high up on the mountain and the views, privacy and calm were amazing!
Enjoyed Most:
The view is outstanding and breathtaking and that is what comes to mind first for me but the local rep who walked us through everything was amazing, spoke clear English and had the place entirely stocked with food and wine for two days! Her name is Antonetta and she is a gem who really takes care of you. The fact that we didn't have to go back out that night to pickup things was really a welcome delight.
Enjoyed Least:
What we loved also took the biggest effort! The view was because the location is so high up and the only way to get there FOR US was the BUS. The bus is very effective and efficient but its crowded at certain times and its a crazy ride up and down the mountain. Very curvy and sometimes you have to stand on the bus....that actually got a little scary! And you had to walk up 85 steps to even get to the street to pick up the bus.....that's nothing to the locals though...nothing at all.
Surrounding Area:
The quaintness of it. The sheep grazing on the hillside right next to the location, the lemon trees everywhere, the fact that tourism hadn't really changed this spot very much.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso is just up the road! It's certainly walkable even for someone who wasn't nuts about the 85 steps up to the street. There is a small grocery market there that you can visit during its open hours for replenishment of foods. People are very nice and its very small. There are two good restaurants there, as well.
Tips or Restaurants:
They really do have everything you need in place when you get there. Not much that you are going to need to survive on for the first day other than what is in the cupboards there! I would certainly go take the tour of Capri! Take the boat trip that takes you completely around the Isle. Its 50 euros and its so much fun. It will be an all day excursion. I thought it was more fun on the boat over and back than being on Capri itself. Capri was very crowded with tourists! Enjoy a good bottle of vino out on that lovely patio at this location, with some local cheese, olives and tomatoes! You are going to be in heaven!
Directions:
We had Rentvillas get a driver for us. That person was Patricia and she was wonderful. in fact we hired her for a days to drive us around amalfi later in the week, which eliminated the need for a car. The idea of hiring a driver who picked us up at Naples train station was the best. It was very simple and worth every cent.
Check In Out:
She was so efficient. Really liked Antonetta.

Michelle, May

Overall:
Great location away from the busy town of Positano and the area is beautiful. Great views, lemon trees, flowers, clear water and great weather.
Enjoyed Most:
The balcony had a fantastic view and the weather was perfect. Nice quiet location away from the crowds of Positano.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.
Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed the walk to Positano down the stone steps as it had great views and was good exercise - a 40 minute walk. The local bus was fun, on-time and dropped us off right at the property. Had 3 great meals at Il Ritrovo with very reasonable prices.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso was a five minute walk and very easy to get to.
Tips or Restaurants:
Walk down to Positano but take the bus up to Montepertuso as it stops right at the property. Bring beach towels and sunscreen. It Ritrovo in Montepertuso has some great local food and wine and is 5 minutes from the property. Hire a driver from Naples to the property otherwise it's a train ride and 2 different buses. We used Sorrentocars.com. Ugo was great.
Check In Out:
Antonietta was very helpful, on-time and friendly during both check in and check out. The local maps she provided were very helpful.

Glenn, July

Overall:
It was wonderful - the view was amazing! We loved the town and all of the friendly people there. We loved shopping for local fruits and vegetables and cooked most of our meals, we loved dining at Il Ritrovo in Montepertuso.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the private terrace. We really felt like we were at home. It was perfect, and exceeded our expectations. The groceries provided were a very nice touch. We appreciated that a lot.
Enjoyed Least:
These are all minimal suggestions, because we loved the apartment - could have a more comfortable sofa, a large serving spoon for sauce, and a CD player that worked (unless it does and we couldn't figure it out).
Surrounding Area:
The shops, restaurants, loved Il Ritrovo, the small grocery store next door to that restaurant, and there was a great place in Positano for a coffee and dessert - it was in a garden of lemon and orange trees - La Zagara. The shops were nice - especially the sandals, even my husband bought a pair.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso was within walking distance. Positano could have been, but it was very hot so we never walked there, we took the bus. It would have been nice to have a gelato-coffee shop in Montepertuso.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring plastic baggies, they come in handy. A large spoon for sauce would have been nice. I left some containers for leftovers. The apartment really had it all. They thought of everything! Must eat at Il Ritrovo, Donna Rosa was very good too, but more expensive and not the same fun atmosphere, but the food was amazing. And La Zagara in Positano for coffee and dessert!
Directions:
We hired a driver and they knew where to go. We had no problems.
Check In Out:
Antonietta was very efficient and helpful.

Lindsey, June

Overall:
Another excellent experience - we were there two years ago and decided to go back. Biggest negative is taking a taxi from Sorrento to the villa - 70 euros which is 105 US for a half hour drive.
Enjoyed Most:
It's location overlooking Positano and the sea. The kitchen was well stocked with food essentials when we got there which was very nice. Also Raffeale was very generous by providing us with tomatoes which my wife used to make sauce for pasta - excellent. Property very quiet.
Enjoyed Least:
The expense in getting there. Also, we think the towels could be upgraded.
Surrounding Area:
Very good location to visit other towns along the Amalfi Coast as well as Sorrento and Capri.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso is a 10-15 min. walk and has 3 very good restaurants and a grocery store. Very convenient. Positano is a 15 min bus ride and the bus stops only a few yards from the villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring comfortable walking shoes as the entire area is quite hilly and the villa requires a descent and an ascent of 84 steps. Restaurants in Montepertuso - Donna Rosa, Il Ritrovo, La Tagliata, and Scirroco new. Very good Pizzerias on the beach.

Ron, September

Overall:
We really enjoyed our time at the villa. Everything was great except for the bed.
Enjoyed Most:
The views, the location, the kitchen and utensils.
Enjoyed Least:
The bed - poor mattress - two singles pushed together. Editor's Note: The mattress has been replaced - November 2007.
Surrounding Area:
The walk down the steps to Positano, the restaurants in the village, the food everything.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso was definitely within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
In the future I would probably hire a driver over renting a car. Scirrocco was a great restaurant in the village.

Gwen, September

Enjoyed Most:
Great views.
Enjoyed Least:
Distance to travel into town.
Surrounding Area:
Privacy.
Tips or Restaurants:
Hire a driver.

Howard, August

Overall:
The owner maintains a beautiful garden and is very nice. We loved having our own villa and being in a quiet relaxing environment. We felt we had one of the best views in the entire region. Next time we would spend the night in Capri.
Enjoyed Most:
We liked the view and the location the best. We hiked the steps down to Positano everyday and took the bus in the evenings. The other thing we loved was the dog, "Nuvella". We liked having our own kitchen and the washer was a big plus.
Enjoyed Least:
The living room wasn't very comfortable for relaxing and the futon needs updating-cleaning.
Surrounding Area:
We loved Montepertuso and the small village environment. We went to Montepertuso's annual festival and felt it was one of the highlights of our trip. We loved Il Ritrovo and the hostess.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso was a five minute walk from the villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
We really liked being away from the tourism and hectic pace of Positano. Be aware that it is a significant walk up and down the steps and one you cannot do in the dark.
Directions:
Rent Villas arranged for a driver and we were very happy with the service.

Renee, July

Enjoyed Most:
The view was outstanding.
Enjoyed Least:
Distance to Positano. Beds were a bit old
Surrounding Area:
Small local grocery stores and restaurants.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso. Yes, within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Donna Rosa in Montepertuso was great.

Nancy, June

Enjoyed Most:
We really liked being very near to Positano, but perched above and away from the activity down in town. It felt nice every time we got back to the house.
Enjoyed Least:
The furnishings were not very comfortable. The apartment lacks a couch or lounge chair - something with arms and a level seat to relax in. The futon isn't the most comfortable seat. Also, the bed mattress was not firm.
Surrounding Area:
We were in awe with the area, both for its natural beauty and the ingenuity of the way the people built the towns and roads.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The house is a short walk from Montepertuso, which has the necessities. A short bus ride, or long climb down the mountain, is Positano.
Tips or Restaurants:
For such a small town, Montepertuso has a few outstanding restaurants - we tried and loved Il Ritrovo and Donna Rosa.

Michael, May

Overall:
Property was clean and comfortable and just as advertised. The long walk to Positano justified eating well.
Enjoyed Most:
The patio setting and view down upon Positano.
Enjoyed Least:
No phone available.
Surrounding Area:
It is a beautiful setting with the steep cliffs and homes clinging to them. We loved Positano, and even though it was a "resort" town we found it pretty down-to-earth.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The village of Montepertuso, very much off the beaten tourist path and about 10-15 minute walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you need to call bring a GSM-compatible cell phone. We also wished we had brought binoculars.
Directions:
We spent the money to have a taxi deliver us from Naples directly to the door of the apartment. It would seem to be a bit of a challange to rely on local bus transportation if you were not familiar with the area.
Check In Out:
Extremely accommodating and helpful.

Russ, October

Enjoyed Most:
View and peace and quiet.
Enjoyed Least:
Distance from Positano and reliance on local bus for transport.
Surrounding Area:
Wonderful views.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso was very walkable
Tips or Restaurants:
Apartment rather well supplied. Candles and flashlights a good idea. We lost power. "Donna Rosa" in Montepertuso is pricey, but good.

Susan, September

Overall:
We were welcomed with, and so appreciated, some of the property owner's wonderful home grown tomatoes, onion, basil and grapes! The stereo was a welcome surprise.
Enjoyed Most:
The location which provided both an extraordinary view of the Mediterranean and Positano from the private terrace while enjoying peaceful country living. The villa was clean and very comfortable.
Enjoyed Least:
A light on the outside entry garage door would have been helpful.
Surrounding Area:
The flora and fauna of the countryside, hearing the rooster's crowing in the morning, and smelling the salty Mediterranean air. The bus stop was was very convenient and the property owner's gardens lining the path to and from our villa were a welcoming sight.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso was the nearest small town and we enjoyed the short walk up the hill. The small, friendly town offered a few necessary items, a small grocery, and outstanding restaurants!
Tips or Restaurants:
An extra battery or an adapter if you need to charge a digital camera. No one sold the kind of battery I needed. Donna Rosa was our favorite restaurant before we tried La Tagliata further up the hill beyond Montepertuso, then it was a toss up! Both are small, family run restaurants with extraordinary food and friendly service....be sure to make reservations so you won't be disappointed. Service and food at Il Rivoto were lacking.
Directions:
We had our travel advisor arrange a car to take us from the Naples airport directly to the property - I wouldn't not do it any other way.

Rebecca, September

Overall:
Location and views are awesome! Rafaelle, the proprietor was very kind to give us tomatoes, onions, basil, and lemons, a very nice personal touch. My wife made a wonderful tomato sauce for pasta! Very enjoyable. We also enjoyed the friendliness of the 2 small dogs on the property.
Enjoyed Most:
Beautiful open terrace to enjoy the views. Easy walk to Montepertuso to 2 wonderful restaurants and a grocery store. Nearby bus stop to go to Positano. Central location to go to Capri, Amalfi, Sorrento, and Pompeii. Very clean and tidy villa.
Enjoyed Least:
On occasion there was an annoying sound coming from next door apartment - sounded like a mechanical or pump type equipment. One night it was continuous from 9:00pm to 3:00am next morning.
Surrounding Area:
All the surrounding towns are easily accessible. Positano is 10 minute bus ride. Loved Amalfi, Ravello, and Sorrento. Capri nice but very touristy with too many shops. And of course Montepertuso within walking distance was very enjoyable.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso about a 10 minute walk to 2 restaurants and grocery store.
Tips or Restaurants:
In Montepertuso, Donna Rosa restaurant was excellent with elegant dining - a bit pricey. Il Ritrovo also an excellent restaurant. Villa well equipped with necessities. Flashlight might be a good thing to bring in case of a power failure.
Check In Out:
Very timely and well organized process.

Ron, September

Enjoyed Most:
The view was outrageous. It was also nice to get away from the crowds and see a real part of town.
Enjoyed Least:
The transportation down the mountain. Although there was some, a little far in between and not after 11:20 p.m.
Surrounding Area:
The beach, the buildings, and basically everything it had to offer.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso. It was within walking distance and was a great place. Non touristy, and all together authentic.
Tips or Restaurants:
Il Ritrivo treats you like gold. Donna Rosa does likewise, but in a different way. Bring plastic baggies.
Directions:
We had a driver that was a little pricey, but were scared of missing our trains if we used the public transportation.

Amy, August

Enjoyed Most:
The house was in tip-top shape
Enjoyed Least:
The location, it was out of town and there was only one bus serving the area.
Surrounding Area:
The house grounds were beautiful as were the views.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso.
Tips or Restaurants:
Il Ritrovo was an excellent restaurant, nice family-run the operation.
Directions:
I got to town and called the agent who came right out and got me to the property. The local property manager was terrific.

Raphael, June

Overall:
Don't go if you're agoraphobic
Enjoyed Most:
The view.
Enjoyed Least:
No phone and distance from Positano.
Surrounding Area:
Views.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso is within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Two great restaurants in Montepertuso - Donna Rosa, best in Positano area - and Il Ritrovo.
Directions:
Had to be met by property manager and led to the property.

Mark, June

Enjoyed Most:
Great view. Nice and clean, mainly.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen needed to be cleaned better.
Surrounding Area:
Peaceful and quiet. Out of the noisy city sounds but still close enough to the city.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso. Yes, you could walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
Handy suggestion book there. Good pizza at Chez Black on the beach in Positano. Last meal on the last night was at La Tagliata. Farthest walk to get there but well worth the distance. Excellent view with food to match. They do take Visa.

Ken, April

Overall:
We had a wonderful two weeks in Montepertuso! Thank you for helping to make our holiday so enjoyable. We certainly will use your service again and recommend it to others.
Enjoyed Most:
The apartment was very nice, clean and very well equipped. The owners were very warm and friendly. Everything, with the exception of the weather, was great.
Enjoyed Least:
The only minor problem was that the electricity in the apartment would shut off very easily. One evening, during a rather bad wind storm, the power cut out just in our apartment five times. We were glad that we had taken two small flashlights along. Other than that, we could not be more pleased.
Surrounding Area:
The small towns of Montepertuso and Nocelle were very nice to walk to and enjoy the people, restaurants and the local markets and bar. We enjoyed Positano, although they were not yet in full season operation yet. We traveled by car to Amalfi, Ravello, Paestum, Sorrento and my mother's home town of Polla, about 85 miles from Positano. The driving along the coast and in the mountains was very exciting and at times a bit scary.

Richard, March

Overall:
A very pleasant experience overall. No complications and a nice place to stay.
Enjoyed Most:
The view. It is amazing. The owner and the property manager were very nice.
Enjoyed Least:
The bed - it is very uncomfortable. Editor's Note: The bed mentioned in the previous reviews has been changed - February 2006.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful Positano and all of Amalfi.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso.... a 10 min walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
There are a lot of stairs... don't bring too much luggage as you have to carry the bags!

Roel, October

Overall:
We were very pleased with the property, and the local manager was very helpful. We would love to go back soon!
Enjoyed Most:
The view down into Positano and the ocean was breathtaking! The modern appliances along with the inclusion of a dishwasher was very nice as well. Parking was outstanding, with a secure garage. Nearness to the bus route was also very convenient, making it easy to get down to town. The shower on the balcony was a nice touch and a nice way to enjoy the sun if you didn't feel like having a beach day.
Enjoyed Least:
The bed. Too soft. Ants were prevalent and we had to spread Off! along the door threshold to keep them from entering the apartment.
Surrounding Area:
Positano has a beautiful beach and some great shopping. Amalfi and Ravello are also very beautiful and nearby. Public transit is easy to use and provides good service to nearby towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso was within walking distance, and there was a small grocery store that had a good supply of essentials. Both restaurants near the centre of town were excellent, although Donna Rosa was expensive.
Tips or Restaurants:
The apartment was well stocked with necessities. It appeared that they listened to the comments left in their guest book with respect to suggestions about things they could do to enhance your stay. Il Ritrovo in Montepertuso had excellent food.
Check In Out:
Very helpful and punctual.

Matt, September

Enjoyed Most:
The apartment we rented in Positano was great. The apartment itself was beautiful. It was very clean, nicely decorated, well stocked with dishes and utensils, and pots amp pans. The washing machine and air conditioner both worked great, the garden around the property was beautiful. One nice surprise was that there was Satellite TV with movies and news channels available in English and Italian. Above all, the view from the private patio was nothing short of spectacular!
Enjoyed Least:
If we had to complain about something, it would be that the bed was a little lumpy, but supposedly that's normal for Italy, according to the travel book we had. Overall, the place exceeded our expectations and was worth every Euro.
Tips or Restaurants:
A note to future travelers to Montepertuso Both restaurants in town are awesome. Il Ritrovo is a little more rustic and the portions are bigger. Sit outside and make sure Teresa waits on you. Donna Rosa is a little more expensive, but worth it. It's a great last- night-in-town place, very romantic.
Check In Out:
The rental process was very simple. The person at Rentvillas was very helpful with answering our questions and the contact in Italy was also very helpful. In fact, we arrived a little earlier than expected and the property owner was great about letting us drop off our luggage while we explored town for the afternoon.

Jason, September

Enjoyed Most:
The view from the terrace and the charm of Montepertuso nearby. It is great to be so close to Positano, but to be able to leave the city and view it from above.
Enjoyed Least:
No major issues. We did have a few issues with ants, but the owners were doing their best to control what was obviously an inherient issue in the area. Also, driving in the area can be an issue. I do not recommend driving a car while in Positano. Take my advice and rent a moped for your stay, as it will significantly simplify your life.
Surrounding Area:
As stated above, the charm of Montepertuso and the markets and resturants. There is also a resturant just up the hill past Motepertusso - don't recall the name, but it is an excellent family-run business that has great barbecue meats.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertusso.
Tips or Restaurants:
Grill supplies, as they do have a nice little grill. Also might want to bring your normal laundry supplies if you are staying longer than a week. Rent a moped!! Life will be easier....

William, August

Enjoyed Most:
The owners and the local people. You got a real flavor for life in Italy. The view, the peace and serenity and the local town of Montepertuso....
Enjoyed Least:
The bed and mildew in the bathroom. The villa is in a rock and that creates mositure and little can be done except diligent scrubbing. But this is Italy and you are getting what the locals get. My wife had a small issue, I didn't notice.
Surrounding Area:
The town of Montepertuso was overwhelming and the view from on high. You are 700 to 800 meters aboe sea level and it is breathtaking. The people all around are friendly and funny. Great place to live.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso was a 7-minute walk. I would not recommend this for 80 year-olds out of shape. The 980 steps and hills are a workout. But that is even more telling of local life. The locals walk them and they are in their late 80's.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurants on the top are great....maybe as good as in the city of Positano 3 miles below. I would bring pillows. Otherwise it was all good.

Joseph, July

Overall:
We truly liked, both literally and figuratively, the perspective staying in Montepertuso gave us. It was a delightful week.
Enjoyed Most:
The view of Positano from the patio was spectacular by day and magical by night! The apartment itself was quite comfortable, although the kitchen could have been better stocked with basic cooking tools and without a box spring the rather thin mattress sagged. All-in-all, it was a very good value.
Enjoyed Least:
We are relatively fit and active 50-somethings so the 1,850 steps we counted them! down to Positano were something fortunately we were able to do daily, since the bus from Montepertuso ran hourly only during the middle of the day, every two hours otherwise. Several days rather than endure a 2 hour wait after spending the day on Capri and in Ravello we took another bus halfway up and walked the rest, not something I relished after a long day of sightseeing. A taxi from that halfway point cost 15 euros.
Surrounding Area:
The people in the little town of Montepertuso were very friendly. We had a great time using our limited Italian to shop in the food market and had two delicious meals at Il Ritruvo. The bus was a thrilling ride and a great way to see the Amalfi Coast. Amalfi and Ravello are worth a day trip! The boat around Capri was also worth taking to see the interesting caves, rock formations, grottos and beautiful coastline. We took the bus back to Sorrento where we had stayed earlier in our trip in order to go once again to the beach at Capo de Monte where we joined the locals sunning on the rocks and swimming in a natural grotto, a breath-takingly beautiful spot!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Tiny Montepertuso is a relatively easy and pleasant 10 minute walk, but you'll have little reason to go there except to food shop and dine at the restaurants.

Joanne, June

Enjoyed Most:
It was a very well-kept property. The view from the deck was wonderful, and it was nice to have a secured parking area.
Enjoyed Least:
Lack of a dishwasher.
Surrounding Area:
It was nice to be perched above Positano, and not in the middle of the tourist traffic.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso was within walking distance. It had the very basic necessities.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurants we ate at in Montepertuso were excellent. We ate at both La Tagliata and Il Ritrivo. There are over 80 steps from the parking area to the apartment. The steps did not bother us, and we had a great view. Others might have difficulty with the stairs, particularly with their luggage.
Directions:
We probably could have found the apartment ourselves, but the property manager did a great job of meeting us and guiding us to the apartment's location.
Check In Out:
Very easy and comfortable.

John, May

Enjoyed Most:
The view was amazing. It was wonderful to have a nice private patio.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.
Surrounding Area:
The village above the property was an enjoyable walk and had some excellent places to eat.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Yes, it was easy walking distance to Montepertuso, and it took about 30 minutes to walk down the stairs into Positano.
Tips or Restaurants:
We had our best meal at a restaurant in Montepertuso. I can not remember the name but it was by the little market and had an enclosed dining area with lovely views. This little town seemed to be quite the hub for walking groups and I wish I would have known more about the trail system above town. Also, you do not need a car. We had one but just kept it parked most of the time. The buses into Positano and other major villages along the coast are frequent and easy to use. Driving on the narrow roads can be intimidating.

Gary, October

Enjoyed Most:
The view was amazing - well worth the climb down the steps into Positano.
Enjoyed Least:
Basics were supplied - i.e. there is a washing machine, but I had to buy a full container of washing powder to do a wash. Best to bring some with you in a baggie. Also, there are no basic provisions in the kitchen - i.e. oil, balsamic vinegar, etc. I left everything behind - hope the next tenant found and used them.
Surrounding Area:
A couple of great restaurants, bar-cafe and small general goods store. People were friendly and helpful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso - 5 minutes walk up the hill.
Tips or Restaurants:
La Tagliata is a fantastic restaurant - family run - lovely people - call them and they will send someone to pick you up and drop you back. Another - think it is called La Bella Rosa - excellent food, and they speak good English if you need it. Bring to the apartment: kitchen sponge - there's nothing to wipe down benches etc with. Also a bus timetable would be a great help.

Julie, May

Overall:
There are over 80 steps down to the property from the parking garage area. Although this is pretty much par for the course in the Positano area, some people would find it a struggle carrying luggage up and down these steps.
Enjoyed Most:
The view from the property is truly astounding. The building is built into the top of rock face high above Positano and there are panoramic views over the town.
Enjoyed Least:
There was some noise from the pumping system for the water supply. The kitchen would have benefitted from a microwave and dishwasher.
Surrounding Area:
Everything. The Amalfi Coast is truly outstanding. The towns of Amalfi, Ravello and Positano were our favorites.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The property is located just inside the boundary of Montepertuso, a small village perched high above Positano. It is walkable, although as it was dark most times when we ventured there, we drove in. The village has a small food shop and two excellent friendly restaurants.

Colin, November

Overall:
Take books if you only speak English, as the Television is of no use unless you wish to watch BBC amp CNN news all the time. The terrace is divine for just lounging and reading with a cold glass of wine.
Enjoyed Most:
The position was an adventure with views down to the village of Positano stunning. The village of Montepertuso explained how the locals lived and we loved visiting the restaurants there for some real home cooking.
Enjoyed Least:
Not enough comfortable furniture in the living room. The couch was hard.
Surrounding Area:
The area is like no other we have ever visited, and we definitely got a feel for the area being up in Montepertuso rather than in the tourist part of Positano. The little bus we caught daily down to the Positano village, costing 1 Euro each, was a great adventure each time.
Nearby Events or Locales:
This location was great as it made you walk more, and help not to stack on the extra kilos. We had a car, but for the entire week we never used it.
Tips or Restaurants:
We ate at the famous Chez Black Restaurant on the water and the food was great. Midway up the hill right on the corner is a restaurant that has about 6-7 tables virtually on the footpath overlooking the cliff face. We ate great pasta there.
Directions:
We were met by your representatives further down in Positano, which I have to say I was glad of, as we would never had found it on our own. We followed a guy who was on a motorbike, and at first were a bit worried about how far up it was. After arriving, the views took away any trepidatons we may have had.

Gail, October

Enjoyed Most:
Perched high up on a hill above Positano, the view of the town and bay were spectacular.
Enjoyed Least:
Parking was challenging. The property rental included a parking spot in an adjacent secured carport, but maneuvering down the narrow, steep driveway and into the tight spot was tough.
Surrounding Area:
Excellent location base to explore Amalfi coast.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso, a small mountain town, was within walking distance. In addition to several local restaurants, it also had several small grocery markets that carried the basic necessities.
Tips or Restaurants:
Although Positano is only a short drive from the property, parking is limited once in town. A recommended alternative is to utilize the local bus service, which picks up just a few steps away from the rental property. Le Tre Sorelli, located on the waterfront strip in Positano, is a great restaurant with reasonable prices. There is an old pathwaystaircase that descends from near the property all the way down into town. Trip down takes about 45 min to an hour, and is guaranteed to leave you rubber-legged!
Check In Out:
Property owner did not speak English, but manager was very fluent.

Christine, June

Overall:
It was a beautiful property and we would definetly stay there again.
Enjoyed Most:
The view!! It was absolutely amazing, both during the day and at night. The private deck was the best part of the property.
Enjoyed Least:
Lots of stairs. We definitely worked off all of the wine and pasta, which was a good thing.
Surrounding Area:
It was so easy to make day-trips to the surrounding town. The beach in Positano was rocky, but a quick trip to Capri provided beautful sandy beaches.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Sorrento was a quick bus trip away, with great shopping and restaurants.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring snacks. If you arrive late like we did, it's better to have some food with you rather than having to hunt for it.

Adele, June

Overall:
Overall a beautiful property, set in stunning surroundings...the best holiday we've ever had!!
Enjoyed Most:
The view was stunning across the bay of Positano, a perfect romantic hideaway in the hills!
Enjoyed Least:
We loved everything....
Surrounding Area:
It was great to explore, beautifully kept and idylic scenery!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montepertuso.....it was a 20 minute walk down to the town, a lovely walk too!
Tips or Restaurants:
There was a fantastic restaurant 5 mins walk away up the hill to the local village. The waiter was so friendly and spoke amazing English...the food was authentic, fresh and gorgeous!!! They even gave you a little present at the end of the meal - olive oil, sun dried tomatoes..a lovely touch!
Directions:
The one way system in Positano is confusing at first, but you get to know your way around once you have driven through it once!
Check In Out:
Easy and friendly!

Zowie , May

Overall:
Great location for the sun. Property description was accurate.
Enjoyed Most:
Sun porch, the view.
Enjoyed Least:
The bed. It would have been nice to have information on the local area.
Surrounding Area:
Shopping, the beach.
Nearby Events or Locales:
None
Tips or Restaurants:
The walk into town only takes 40 minutes, it looks like it would take longer. The village above the property, Montepertuso. Great restaurant called Donna Rosa. Approx 80 Euros for 2 people, 3 courses & wine. Excellent shop for food and deli food also.
