Customer Reviews

Overall:
Wonderful and relaxing.
Enjoyed Most:
The view.
Enjoyed Least:
The beds were a little firm.
Nearby Events or Locales:
It was 409 stairs to the beach.
Tips or Restaurants:
Best restaurant - La Tagliata

Overall:
We had a wonderful time.
Enjoyed Most:
Positano is quite beautiful.
Surrounding Area:
The views, the proximity to other towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano was within walking distance. The house would probably not be good for small children or the elderly. There are many steps to climb to get from the villa to town. Being in decent physical shape is helpful.
Tips or Restaurants:
We took a cooking class at Bocca del Bocci restaurant at the beach in Positano. Although expensive - 100 Euros per person - it was a lot of fun. Bring comfortable walking shoes.
Directions:
We used a GPS which was very helpful in getting to surrounding towns and to and from Rome.

Overall:
Wonderful--we had a great time.
Enjoyed Most:
The view. It was nice to have AC in the bedrooms. The maid service was also excellent.
Enjoyed Least:
Wireless Internet access was inconsistent.
Surrounding Area:
Close to colorful and inviting restaurants with good food, and away from the major crush of tourists. We enjoyed all the amenities of Positano, including beaches and restaurants. The local smaller beach just below the villa was very nice and scenic.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa was very well equipped so no need to bring anything special. Remember to bring a comfortable large bag for carting things up and down the steps, to and from the beach and grocery store, comfortable walking shoes and 'water shoes' to use at the beach to protect feet from rocks. Renting a scooter for the week is a logical investment for getting around. The bus service was excellent not only within Positano, but also for getting to other towns such as Ravello; renting a scooter or car is not necessary, but having a scooter for within town would be more convenient. The roads are winding and narrow, but I think the dangers are exaggerated. However, a car is more a bother and expense than what it is worth.

Enjoyed Most:
Commanding view; terrace.
Enjoyed Least:
Hot water heater didn't work well; coffee maker was slow and inadequate. In the upstairs bedroom we had two twin beds put together and would have preferred one queen.
Surrounding Area:
Restaurants, shoping, beach views of coast, weather
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring good walking shoes!

Overall:
Our family would like to rent it again this year. What is your availability in the summer?
Enjoyed Most:
The amazing view, the lemon trees, and the fact that most of the apartment was outdoor living at its best! The outdoor terraces can not be surpassed.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen, but who's complaining?!
Surrounding Area:
The town of Positano itself terraced on a hill...the proximity to Pompei etc.
Tips or Restaurants:
We did not eat out much - only once, in fact, at a local pizzaria

Overall:
The villa was really nice. It had a great view of the sea and the garden area & decorating inside was nice too.
Enjoyed Most:
We enjoyed the patio dining area that overlooked the sea!! It was beautiful!!
Enjoyed Least:
We had no dislikes. The steps up & down through the village were certainly good exercise, though!
Surrounding Area:
Everything; The food was good and the scenery was great!!!
Nearby Events or Locales:
We took the bus into Sorrento & on to Pompeii and one day we took the hydrofoil to Capri. Both were very easy trips! The shopping was also pretty neat as was the trip to Capri.
Tips or Restaurants:
Chez Black was definitely over-rated! The neatest restaurant was a place just down below from our villa (right beside a hotel; the name of the restaurant was Saraceno D'Oro) that served Pizza. The street ran right next to the restaurant and our dining tables were on the other side of the street. So the waiters had to cross the street each time to bring our food. It was really bizarre to have a street running right through the restaurant (right next to your table!) We found several others that were good as well.

Overall:
Nice villa. Be careful with ceilings in bedrooms, they are low.
Enjoyed Most:
Views are most beautiful I have ever seen!
Enjoyed Least:
Service personnel was not very tactful (came in early and was a bit loud).
Surrounding Area:
Everything is within walking distance(5-15 min.) if you don't mind walking steep stairs. If you do - take local bus(every 5-10min). Very nice restaurants, bars and shops most with breathtaking views and not very expensive prices. Positano itself is not very crouded with tourists, which we liked very much. You can take the hydrofoil to Capri, Sorrento, Amalfi. Check out the downtown area.
