Customer Reviews

Overall:
Amazing property with fantastic views directly out to the ocean and Positano.
Enjoyed Most:
The view.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen was small.
Surrounding Area:
So close to all of the action in Positano. Walk to the beach takes 10 minutes, and walking up the hill to great restaurants is also 10 minutes. Very central.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano, Yes; it's within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Great restaurants: Next2, Da Adolfo, Da Vicenzo.
Directions:
Good directions.
Check In Out:
Check out was perfect.Tthe same person that checked us in came the night before so we could get away early the next day.

Matthew, September

Overall:
Good.
Enjoyed Most:
The view. And the bedrooms.
Enjoyed Least:
The ants. The terrace lawn was completely overgrown and the garden area needed to be cleaned up. Editor's Note: The garden has been groomed and cleaned. Sept 2012.
Surrounding Area:
The centre of Positano town.
Tips or Restaurants:
La Taglia - restaurant.

Cobie, June

Overall:
Fantastic!
Enjoyed Most:
Location, view.
Enjoyed Least:
Beds and pillows uncomfortable.
Surrounding Area:
Everything. Fantastic restaurants and shopping. The Beach.
Tips or Restaurants:
Take a walking tour to orient yourself and learn the best of Positano.

JAMI, September

Overall:
It is a lovely location within walking distance to beach, ferries to other towns and restaurants.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, Location, Location.
Enjoyed Least:
It was very noisy at night and in the morning. I would recommend bringing earplugs.
Surrounding Area:
The views cannot be missed. Be sure to take a ferry to another town so that you can see the area from the water. Also, Pompeii is not too far away. Be sure to visit and to book a private tour. It is not to be missed.
Tips or Restaurants:
Kitchen: Please note that the coffeemaker makes espresso, not American coffee, moderate your intake! If you enjoy cooking be sure to bring your own knives, also there isn't a fry pan. If you head up off the main drag rather than down toward the beach there is a wonderful fruit and vegetable store on the mountain side of the 2nd main road. Dining: Be sure to plan a trip to the restaurant at San Pietro, they will come to pick you up. The food and views are fantastic. Also, most of the restaurants down on the beach that serve pizza also make pizza to-go.
Directions:
We had a car pick us up from the Naples train station. The driver was on time and it was great not to have to worry about finding the location. If you do drive, or take another form of transportation, the gate to the property is just up from the Hotel Le Sirenuse. This is a five star property and everyone knows where it is.

Jonalie, August

Overall:
Absolutely fantastic.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the 'feel' of the property.
Enjoyed Least:
It is just starting to look a little tired - close to needing a renovation and paint-job - but luckily for us - not just yet.
Surrounding Area:
Everything - easy to get to and reasonably priced - even in the high season.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Amalfi was a short and very pleasant boat trip.
Tips or Restaurants:
Best restaurant is Max - great food experience - must book.
Directions:
Used GPS - very accurate - direction very accurate also.
Check In Out:
Just the best service!

Arthur, July

Overall:
Very satisfied.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was perfect. The views were amazing. I really appreciated having a stocked refrigerator and cabinet when we arrived. It made our transition after a crazy day of traveling much easier.
Enjoyed Least:
There was weak water pressure throughout the unit and there were ants in the kitchen and bathrooms. There is no AC in the unit but the sea breeze is usually sufficient at night.
Surrounding Area:
Being close to the beach and the pedestrian area made the location a great jumping-off point for some of the surrounding towns. We took the local bus and water taxi to other locations-it was quick and easy to travel.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Downtown Positano was only a few blocks away.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring detergent if you plan to wash clothes. If you keep the shutters closed during the day, the evenings are much cooler in the unit. There is no AC so the unit could be uncomfortable otherwise.
Directions:
I took the SITA bus from the local train. It was a little confusing to get to the unit, but it would have been much easier had we opted for a taxi or car service from Naples.
Check In Out:
It was very easy.

John, August

Overall:
It was one of the best family vacations in the most beautiful location we have ever been. I will definitely return and stay in the same villa. Loved it!
Enjoyed Most:
The view was just like a postcard. Absolutely breathtaking! It was amazing to wake up every morning to the sound of the waves and boats in the harbor and the church bells in the distance. It was also so beautiful sitting outside sipping Limoncello in the evening looking at the view of the mountain and harbor all lit up. The owner of the villa gave us a present of the best mozzarella cheese, beautiful tomatoes, with fresh basil. Very touching gesture! Most welcoming!
Enjoyed Least:
The only thing I can think of is that there is a moth ball smell in the twin bedroom. Lavender or cedar is a much more pleasant. The kitchen was small but functional.
Surrounding Area:
I loved being able to walk to the beaches and restaurants. The location had everything from beautiful views, transportation to surrounding points of interest, groceries, shops, gelato! The food everywhere we went was excellent. The people in the town were very friendly and couldn't do enough to please you. We met quite a few people while we were there locals and vacationers.
Tips or Restaurants:
We booked a car from the airport through Renato Salvatore and also used the same car service for a whistle stop tour of Rome. I absolutely would not recommend having your own car. We also booked a boat trip with l' Nomo e il Mare Salvatore and Gennaro. We had a great time! We went on the Amalfi Coast tour with Gennaro's son, Peter, and had a very relaxing day with our family swimming through caves and beautiful private beaches, not to mention enjoying the most delicious lunch. We also booked the Capri cruise and had a wonderful day. We went to La Tagliata in Montepertuso and were picked up by the owner. Again great time, great food! Went to Le Sirene as well for dinner. Picked up by boat and greeted with champagne and a table with a beautiful view! The Pupetto Cafe in Fornillo beach was a great place for a delicious yet reasonably priced lunch - good drinks too!. Gelato at La Zagara was the best also!

Deana, July

Overall:
Cannot fault the service or the villa.
Enjoyed Most:
The position, the view, everything was thought of for our visit.
Enjoyed Least:
Only possible fault was that it would have been nice to have some ability to play some music.
Surrounding Area:
What is there not to enjoy about Positano?
Tips or Restaurants:
Going on Gennaro Salvatore's boat day out along Amalfi.. the most idyllic day out, with fish for lunch caught by Salvatore in the morning! Heaven! Take something for listeining to music.

Sally, June

Overall:
We had a fabulous time. Our villa was fantastic! We definitely felt we were living like Italians.
Enjoyed Most:
We spent a lot of time on the patio enjoying our beautiful view of Positano. The patio was very fragrant from the beautiful jasmine. Local grocery stores within walking distance enabled us to make meals in our villa.
Enjoyed Least:
There wasn't anything.
Surrounding Area:
The shops. There is a ceramic shop called Emporio della Ceramica. They were very friendly and fun to talk to. They shipped our ceramic home for us.
Tips or Restaurants:
Nocelle was a nearby town with a fabulous restaurant called La Taglia.
Directions:
Hire a driver to get you there. The driving and the roads are crazy.
Check In Out:
Key holder was very helpful.

Lisa, June

Overall:
We had an excellent experience.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the convenience of being located in the midst of activity, but also having a wonderful private patio area.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen. It was very small and had poor utensils.
Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed going to the beach, taking a boat trip to Isle of Capri, sightseeing in Pompeii.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Casa Luna is located in the heart of Positano.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring along or plan to buy sharp knives. The gelato is great everywhere!

Marlys, May

Overall:
The villa was fantastic!!! It was an incredible location and the view was gorgeous.
Enjoyed Most:
The view, the view, the view. The location was central to the town of Positano. The amenities are good. We had a great time cooking our own meals.
Enjoyed Least:
We had a problem with the 2nd bathroom -- the toilet leaked. However, the management company responded quickly and fixed the problem.
Surrounding Area:
The restaurants and the local stores, specifically the market where we bought our food. We also enjoyed the boat rides to Amalfi, Capri and Ravello.
Nearby Events or Locales:
There were no towns within waling distance. We took the local bus to the closest town of Montepertuso. We also took the bus to Sorrento.
Tips or Restaurants:
We loved the restaurant, Max. The food and wine were outstanding!
Directions:
No, everything was very clear and easy to get to.
Check In Out:
Adrian was very helpful.

Cindy, May

Enjoyed Most:
Clearly the location and view were superb Lovely to arrive to a full refrigerator and wine. Laundry and a neighbor's cat were pluses
Enjoyed Least:
Poor bathrooms - inadequate shower with poor drainage and close quarters. The tub had no shower curtain. The kitchen poorly lit and a tight space. A neighbor's barking dog was a negative during the wee hours of the night
Tips or Restaurants:
We were given no bath soap or shampoo so bring your own!
Check In Out:
The local agent very personable and helpful

Luca, October

Enjoyed Most:
The view and general position.
Enjoyed Least:
The twin bedroom's shower flooded. The bathroom off the main bedroom could use a shower curtain installed so you actually use the shower.
Surrounding Area:
Easy walk to shops and beach of Positano.
Directions:
But we had a driver drop us off.
Check In Out:
Everything went smoothly.

Jonathon, October

Overall:
It was a fantastic place. Gorgeous on the inside and out. The view is absolutely priceless.
Enjoyed Most:
The View is the simply the best view of Positano possible. The Patio and the outside dining area are very private and great for relaxing and just taking in the view. The young man who greeted us was extremely knowledgeable of the surrounding area and he was most helpful and friendly.
Enjoyed Least:
The Shower box in the bathroom. It does not drain correctly and it too flimsy. Id did see an earlier comment on here about water pressure being low, but we did not find the water pressure to be a problem at all.
Surrounding Area:
The little hidden beaches and the easy access to Capri.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Ravello was the nearest small town, but you should take the bus to get there. Very easy and cheap from the center of Positano.
Tips or Restaurants:
Ristorante Bruno on the street right above the Villa. It is reasonably priced and has a wonderful sidewalk dining area and a very friendly staff.
Directions:
Take the car service.....very worth it.
Check In Out:
Easy and fast.

Michael, September

Enjoyed Most:
Views fantastic. Brilliant location - walking distance to restaurants and delicatessen for daily ingredients
Enjoyed Least:
Bed linen and pillows were rather old. As heating was not available some extra blankets would have been nice in April as the nights and early mornings were still rather cool. No instructions on how to use gas oven. Outdoor clothes line not made available until the end so we had to hang clothes washing all over chairs and on the patio. Editor's Note: There is independent heating available, cost by consumption; a request needs to be made to the local agent to have it turned on. There is an extra blanket available per bed. The mid-week cleaning is done every Tuesday and Thursday.
Surrounding Area:
Positano is a great town - very clean, although rather "resorty" and prices matched, making eating out more than once or twice cost prohibitive - had most meals at home on the patio, which was just wonderful. Local staff in delicatessens and shops were very friendly and helpful. Most enjoyed the deli-grocery shop that sold all needs, and had daily fresh bread, pre-cooked meals restaurant quality and pasta and good local wines. Taking walks around Positano to explore the many areas and routes.
Tips or Restaurants:
This property is so close to a grocery store and deli that is open long hours, that it is not necessary to take any food, drinks, supplies of toilet paper etc, as suggested in the guide provided. Recommend trip to Pompeii, Amalfi and Ravello. Would also visit museums in Naples to complement trip to Pompeii as all the artifacts are removed. Do not rely on the audio guide at Pompeii - it is not informative and very disappointing - Recommend attending a registered guided tour if possible. Groceries, restaurants are much cheaper out of central Positano - i.e. a third or half of the price. Recommend ferry trips if you are prone to car sickness as the bus rides are pretty windy and harrowing. Ceramics at Ravello are much better priced than in Positano.
Check In Out:
The mid-way cleaning should be closer to half way. The property needed a clean on Tuesday or Wednesday, but instead was cleaned Thursday and again on Saturday after we moved out.

Jodi, April

Overall:
It was fantastic - I loved that both bedrooms had windows facing the water.
Enjoyed Most:
The location is terrific It is in walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and about 10 minutes from the beach. The view is not to be believed, it's so amazing.
Enjoyed Least:
No shower curtain in one of the bathrooms made it difficult to shower without wetting the floor.
Surrounding Area:
Everything you need is in walking distance from the villa. It is so convenient.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The property is located in the heart of Positano
Tips or Restaurants:
Cova has great pizza - it's on the way to Fornillo beach in Positano. Bucca di Baco is very good - the upstairs restaurant. Cambusa is overrated - it's decent but not fantastic.

Jessica, September

Enjoyed Most:
We most liked the beautiful view and the lovely terrace.
Enjoyed Least:
It was very hot.
Surrounding Area:
There were many cafes, restaurants, and picturesques shops, all pleasant and lovely.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano.
Tips or Restaurants:
The pizza place right on the beach was wonderful, but I don't remember the name. I didn't think the bugs were bad and we took way more bug repellant than needed.
Check In Out:
I was very worried about this ahead of time, but it went off very smoothly.

Andrea, July

Enjoyed Most:
The situation of the property was first class we could not have been more pleased with location and the views which were magnificient.
Enjoyed Least:
The villa had a room which was used to house cleaning equipment, towels and linen, which smelt of moth balls. The smell came through to the villa.
Surrounding Area:
Really enjoyed the fact the villa was close to all shops, restaurants, beach and all modes of transport
Tips or Restaurants:
Definitely leave the car behind. We really did not need a vehicle and were delighted to drop it off at the end of our holiday. All but one day it sat in the car park and we could have found alternative transport that day. Fantastic restaurant at Montepertuso - La Tagliata - they will come and pick you up - great atmosphere, really reasonable and full of locals.
Directions:
We were driving to the property and apart from getting lost in Naples - nightmare - once we were on the right road the instructions were first class.

Beverley, June

Enjoyed Most:
The location and view are among the best on the Amalfi coast. We loved eating on the outside terrace overlooking the beach and the Med.
Enjoyed Least:
We found the second bedroom beds small for adults. The kitchen is only big enough for one person, though well equipped. It could use a Microwave oven and brighter lights. There were broken tiles on the floor and the tub surround. Low water pressure. Editor's Note: The two broken tiles are hand-painted and part of a design that is very expensive to replace.
Surrounding Area:
The highlight of our trip was a day trip with Salvatore of L'Uomo e Il Mare boat charters. A wonderful trip East to Amalfi with stops along the way. Salvatore and Gloria were great hosts providing lots of information along the way. We stopped for lunch at a small restaurant where we had course after course of very tasty local dishes including fish that Salvatore had caught prior to the trip. Also the live classical music at Villa Rufolo in Ravello is not to be missed. Tickets and be purchased online ahead of time.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Ferrys make visits to other Amalfi coast towns easy as well as a sightseeing experience. Hiking is great, but be sure to bring comfortable hiking shoes-sneakers for all the hills and steps. This is not a good place to break in new footwear. Positano is on the side of steep cliffs. There are steps to everywhere. Its a great fitness opportunity but bringing babies with strollers would be a vacation-spoiling decision.
Tips or Restaurants:
We liked Cafe Positano and Cafe Cambruso where Mario and Vito provide a memorable dining experience. Avoid Che Black. The service is not bad, its non existent. Figli di Papa in Ravello was less expensive and very good. Local grocery store and butcher shop offer lots of local expertise and produce. They also make great wine suggestions.
Directions:
Do not rent a car unless its critical to your vacation plans. Very limited parking and the roads are very steep, narrow and twisted.

David, May

Overall:
I would highly recommend it to anyone who is fit to climb steps. It was a peaceful place and very private as the occupants of the other rental were not there at the time we rented. The check-in and check-out went very easily. I definitely would not recommend a vehicle, as 20 Euros a day for a garage was a lot when we ended up taking public transportation. The whole rental process went very smoothly and I would recommend your company to anyone.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location. It was ideal. We were able to walk to everything as well as catch the bus at the end of the street. Brunos Restaurant was handy as was the grocery store. The patio was wonderful and overlooked the port and beach. The house was well equipped and attractively decorated. We loved having such hot water for bathing. The kitchen was small but we managed to cook some fine meals.
Enjoyed Least:
We were surprised that there wasn't any soap or basic kitchen needs like olive oil, salt and pepper, sugar. We left oil, vinegar and spices and hopefully they will be there for the next occupant. I think having to pay an extra 90 for cleaning was excessive. There is no need for anyone to come in during the week. The oven which was listed as electric was not. Didn't like the toaster.
Surrounding Area:
We loved Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, and Sorrento. We visited each of these towns and found them just delightful. We also went to Capri for the day. It was very touristy, but I guess that is inevitable. We enjoyed all the different restaurants and decided we did not have a bad meal anywhere. The flowers were spectacular and the whole way of life is relaxing and most enjoyable.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We walked everywhere. We did not mind the steps at all because despite our ages 72-75, we are in good condition and walked miles. However, it is important to let people know that walking on the Amalfi Coast is not for the faint of heart.
Tips or Restaurants:
The little book which you sent to us was extremely worthwhile. I really took note of the items you suggested bringing. I would let people know there they need to bring the essentials like bars of soap, face clothes and any condiments they might need. We were happy with the grocery store close by and the people there were very kind. We liked all the restaurants we ate in. Gelato and cafe latte were a part of our day at the store at the end of our street near the garage - best latte's in town we thought. I would strongly suggest that when you inform people about the Amalfi Coast that you tell them about the difficult driving. We could easily have taken a boat or bus to Positano and left behind the car. The driving was frightening and the parking expensive. We found the bus and the boat ferries and boat taxis to be a wonderful way of traveling.
Check In Out:
The very nice man was right on time. Andre also had a porter for us to help with luggage. It went very smoothly.

Len , May

Overall:
Loved it. Will come again when given the chance. Will definitely recommend it to newlyweds or anyone wanting to go to Italy for a vacation. This one week was the best part of our 3 weeks in Italy.
Enjoyed Most:
Mostly loved the peacefulness of the place and its location. Security was great. The Villa was very close to everything - within walking distance to everything. Boats could be taken directly from the beach down in front of the Villa to Capri, Amalfi, and Sorrento, which we liked. Because of that, we didn't have to leave the area to get anywhere. You can also choose to go to Naples by bus, or taxi, but we didn't.
Enjoyed Least:
Paying 75 Euros via taxi to get to from Sorrento the villa was rather expensive. The property is adjacent to the Parking Lot across from the Hotel California. Entrance gate has 2 large acorns at gate. Villa is just across from the Hotel California.
Surrounding Area:
Everything...peaceful, friendly, fresh foods, warm beautiful weather, warm sea water, etc.. May is a wonderful time to go.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Amalfi, Sorrento, Capri. We could take a boat.
Tips or Restaurants:
Nothing except lots of film, a good book to read and good walking shoes. Suggest that they plan on cooking at least one good Italian meal while there - the fresh veggies, meats, pasta, and spices make an excellent dish. And don't forget the Limoncello served with fresh squeezed lemon juice and peach juice served over ice. Wow, what a great drink!
Check In Out:
Very good and very accommodating.

Michael Cheryl, May

Enjoyed Most:
The view, the garden and the location were fabulous.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen really was small and the lighting wasn't good. The oven also needed attention. We had a black out when we tried to use it. Instructions as to where the power box is located would be good. We found the beds and TV too small.
Surrounding Area:
The village atmosphere and the convenience of being able to walk to the bus stop.
Tips or Restaurants:
Don't go in winter unless you want a very quiet holiday. A lot of restaurants are closed in winter and there is no English TV. A DVD player with a supply of English DVDs would be good.
Check In Out:
We were aware that we had to pay a security deposit during check in. The check-out guy didn't turn up, and the heating was expensive.

Russell, December

Overall:
So gorgeous I don't want to tell anyone about it.
Enjoyed Most:
Perfect and beautiful location, view, gorgeous place. Just really enjoyed ourselves. Loved the place. I would go back again. Master bedroom was great.
Enjoyed Least:
We felt that the beds in the twin bedded room were uncomfortable. We arrived late, so we had to pay a late fee. Didn't like that.
Surrounding Area:
Lots of walking up and down stairs; lots of hiking around.

Tony, October

Overall:
I would definitely recommend Casa Luna to my friends. Was centrally located and Antonella and her staff made the moving in and exiting very simple.
Enjoyed Most:
The view....and the hot water! After a week in Tuscany with barely lukewarm water, and not even then dependably, the showers were heavenly. Also liked how close to everything the villa was.
Enjoyed Least:
The tiny kitchen. And the rainy weather we had.
Surrounding Area:
What's not to enjoy? It was beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano, I think is how it was spelled. No, walking around the Amalfi Coast wouldn't be easy. But it was easy to drive to other areas.
Tips or Restaurants:
We tried just about all of them -- Max's by far the best. But why doesn't anyone make good pasta?
Directions:
The directions were good. Problem was a road blockage that sent us all thru the mountains and took forever.

Bea, October

Overall:
It was great and we would rent it again.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and location were great. We loved the garden table for eating our meals outside.
Enjoyed Least:
The sofas were very uncomfortable. The chairs on the patio were also rather uncomfortable and you could not see the view from them.
Surrounding Area:
We took buses and boats and toured the whole area, including Capri, Amalfi and Ravello
Tips or Restaurants:
We loved Boca de Bucca on the harbor. Great food and entertainment.

Wanda, October

Overall:
Overall, we were all extremely pleased with our property and would definitely stay there again. We found that everything was as advertised and felt very "at home" there. I can't say enough about the spectacular view!!!
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the location.
Enjoyed Least:
The noisy people that partied through the night below, out on their terrace.
Surrounding Area:
Everything! The charm of Positano, the friendly people, and the food were all fantastic. It was also an excellent base, for visiting other areas such as Ravello, Pompeii, Amalfi, etc.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring a small flashlight for walking at night. Otherwise, we found that the villa was very well equipped. All of the restaurants were very good. We had a magical evening and fabulous meal at San Pietro!! Il Ritrovo in Montepertuso was excellent as was Cambusa right on beach in Positano. Zagara's in Positano was a favorite for latte and desserts!!
Directions:
Everything went very smoothly. We actually had a very nice taxi driver from the Naples train station drive us to Positano where we were met by our representative.
Check In Out:
Extremely smooth...no surprises. Very nice young man.

Lynn, September

Enjoyed Most:
The views of the sea and beach were postcard perfect!
Enjoyed Least:
Lack of ceiling fans made it somewhat warm and sticky during the day, eventhough we were there in early June.
Surrounding Area:
Shopping, beach, local flavor
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano- it is very convenient to the main drag. You have to be willing to do lots of steps.
Tips or Restaurants:
Goodl walking shoes. Da Constatino was the best restaurant that we found, and we were there for a week and ate almost everywhere. It it family owned and operated the meals were the best and cheapest. It is away from some of the tourist areas.
Check In Out:
Double check on the parking arrangements. We had been told it would be 18 to 20 euros per day, but they charged us 28, due to the size of our car. Need to confirm pricing when you arrive!

Clyde, June

Enjoyed Most:
The view was superb! We loved lingering on the terrace over an after-dinner limoncello, just looking out at the town and the harbor. Inside, most of the decor was tasteful and homelike - in the best sense.
Enjoyed Least:
The greatest difficulty was the lack of a phone. The second bedroom which our friends occupied was a bit small, as was the bathroom. The larger bathroom, while attractive, didn't have much water pressure. There was enough toilet paper for two days, and then we had to supply our own.
Surrounding Area:
The natural beauty and the incredible food. The smallest, humblest-seeming restaurants had the kind of homemade pasta it's nearly impossible to find in the US.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Priano was closest, but we needed to take a bus there. Also, there was Montepertuso, high above Positano. When we at La Tagliata, a restaurant in that town, the owners sent a cab to take us back.
Tips or Restaurants:
Definitely bring soap and paper goods. You'll want to try the restaurant called Bruno, which is almost directly across the street to the right. There are outdoor tables, and it's family-run and the food is quite good. Also, on the other side of town, we enjoyed Il Fornillo and Saraceno D'Oro, both very hospitable with excellent house-made pasta and super-fresh seafood. For espresso and some amazing desserts, La Zagara is a must. Their signature chocolate orange cake and their baba con panna are nothing short of transporting. We were able to make some dining and touring arrangements through Maria, the inkeeper at the Albergo California, across the street.
Directions:
We arranged through the local representative for a driver to pick us up at the airport and to bring us back, alleviating the need for directions. It was also helpful not to have a car, which in Positano is more a detriment than a help. Public transportation is pretty good.

Joan, May

Enjoyed Most:
The location and view. The relative isolation, it really felt like it was our villa. There were tenants beneath us and pople walking on the street above us, but it felt like we were really Italians. That there were porters to bring and take our bags from the parking garage.
Enjoyed Least:
Although we weren't expecting American style bathrooms, water pressure in the bathrooms was very low, especially in the bigger bedroom's bathroom with the handheld shower head. The washing machine was very 'iffy'. Fortunately, the housekeeper came and finished the laundry for us using another machine in a different part of the villa.
Surrounding Area:
Positano was the ideal place for us to make our 'home base'. We easily took trips to Sorrento, Capri and drove to Ravello, Amalfi, San Agata, Nerano and Marina del Cantone. We were told that driving is a problem on the Amalfi Coast. However, since we were just 'out of season' it wasn't particularly difficult and the experience was well worth it. Parking on the other hand was a bit expensive at about 30 US a day. I'd not like to be driving in June, July or August.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Being in Positano, just walking to the beach and back was like an aerobic exercise! We took the 'Interno' bus to the top of town then walked down the 2 km to our villa. The walk back to the villa after dinner worked off any pounds we may have added during dinner!
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring an American coffee pot or a French Press style coffee maker. ALthough the Italian coffee is delicious, their idea of a cup is about 14 the size Americans are used to. The coffee pot in the villa made just barely 1 1/2 cups. We'd have to make four pots using the Italian coffee pot each morning to take care of us. The Hotel California, across the street from Casa Luna made us breakfast one morning and suggested a wonderful family restaurant for dinner, La Traviata. It is in the hill town of Montepertuso above Positano. You can take a bus there, however, if you call them, they'll pick you up in a limo - unbelievable in those narrow streets! and bring you back, no charge. The ride up, especially at twilight is not to be missed. Bruno Ristorante, just a few steps from Casa Luna is a convenient place to eat if you're not up to the walk to the beach. The Delicatessen down in Piazza Mullino, at the turn for the beach walk, is a great place for wine, cheese, salami, bread and anything

Michael, May

Overall:
This property far exceeded our expectations and Positano is such a charming town that offers a balance of relaxation and stimulation.
Enjoyed Most:
The property was an absolute delight! From the location and proximity to the center of Positano to the fabulous view from our balcony....it was perfect! I especially liked the large french windows and the sound of the Medeterranean entering the villa!
Enjoyed Least:
There was an issue with the shower flooding, but we informed housekeeping and it was fixed immediately.
Surrounding Area:
Positano is an enchanting town. We were there in April and the fragrant wisteria, lemons and oranges were in bloom. The Amalfi Coast was breathtaking and everyone we met was very friendly. We took several ferries and enjoyed the coast from that vantage-point
Nearby Events or Locales:
The apartment is ideally situated. A few steps and we were in the center of everything, the same few steps and we felt we were away from it all.
Tips or Restaurants:
We did not rent a car and found that public transportation in April was a little sketchy. It often took much longer to travel to various locations than you might think looking at a map....but everywhere we travelled to was so interesting, so lovely that it was easy to relax and enjoy the journey.
Directions:
Because the SITA bus could only take us to a certain point due to some road repairs, the local representative appeared and whisked us into a cab. She was terrific! She quickly settled us into the villa and gave us schedules and tips on where to get what we needed. Within minutes we felt at home.

I just wanted to take a moment to compliment you on a great company!! I was very impressed when I first registered with you and also after you personally called me! We recently returned from Italy, where one of your Travel Advisors helped us find the perfect property in Positano. All the staff was soooo helpful and knowledgable. Once we arrived in Positano, Antonietta was marvelous and sent a fabulous driver, Fabio, to pick us up in Naples. Everything went smoothly and went without a hitch. The villa was exactly as promised, and suited our family needs perfectly. Overall, we had an amazing time and everyone on your end far exceeded my expectations of professionalism and high standard of service. We hope to travel to Italy or Europe again, and I will most surely be using Rentvillas!!!

I wish that there had been a phone. Without a phone, there was no one to call in case of emergency. Also, reservations for dinner are required everywhere, and impossible to make without a phone. We felt that the cleaning could have been better. With 2 young kids, we were always looking for lost shoes, toys etc. under beds, under coffee tables etc. So, I could see the dust.

Overall:
House is great. Local property manager was lovely. You do not need a car in Positano for anything. Luigi runs a car service for the airport, local towns etc. You have to call three times to confirm but he is reasonably priced. His company is Positano Limousine Service.
Enjoyed Most:
Location was amazing; view was great.
Enjoyed Least:
Kitchen and bathrooms need to be updated.
Surrounding Area:
You are right in the heart of Positano. There are so many things to do in the town but the boat trips, Vietri, Pompeii were all great trips, if you feel the need to leave.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The main town is around the villa. You walk everywhere. Great pottery and restaurants right across the street.
Tips or Restaurants:
Da Vicenzo up the hill has great food and very reasonably priced. The best beach is just north of the main beach in Positano, if you walk around the bend by the dock. All the Italians go there to lay out. Da Carro right in town has the best pottery in Italy but it's very expensive. San Pietro hotel is totally overrated. I wouldn't bother with that.

Overall:
I'd definitely go back to this property.
Enjoyed Most:
The view was awesome and very much like the postcards of Positano. The location was very convenient to shops and transportation. The place is gated and secure.
Enjoyed Least:
The parking. We had to use a private parking place down the hill and pay 18 dollars a day for it.
Surrounding Area:
Boats to Capri and Sorrento. The people were friendly and helpful. We loved visiting Sorrento and going to Pompei. We absolutely loved taking the bus to Amalfi and Ravello which were gorgeous.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano is a small town and easy to walk hills and steps though. Buses can take you to the small towns of Amalfi and Ravello.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring flashlights and paper products. All the restaurants are good. We liked Chez Black.
Directions:
Just remember that Positano is a one-way street, if you are driving.

Enjoyed Most:
The view, the serenity and being in Positano
Enjoyed Least:
The separation between kitchen and patio
Surrounding Area:
The incomparable beauty, the shops, the food.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were about 250 meters from the center.
Tips or Restaurants:
We especially like the Cavo dei Saraceni and Cumpa Cosimo in Ravello
Directions:
Yes. Coming in around 5 pm is bumper to bumper traffic all the way along the Sorrentine Peninsula. If you have to come in at that time, stay first in Napoli for dinner.
Check In Out:
Every one we had to work with was very prompt, polite and helpful.

Overall:
We would recommend it.
Enjoyed Most:

Enjoyed Least:
Lack of heat.
Surrounding Area:
What is not to like? The food and scenery were great.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano and yes it was within easy walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is a wonderful cafe with simply prepared food at very reasonable prices just across the street from Casa Luna with outdoor seating.

Overall:
It was a little slice of paradise and much more spacious and lovely than we anticipated. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. We had a lovely time and are already talking about going back.
Enjoyed Most:

The location and the beautiful view over the bay took our breath away.
Events or Locales:

The boat to Capri was a fun day trip. Also went to Amalfi, Ravello and hiked out to the tower on the coast.
Tips or Restaurants:

Le Tre Sorelle and Covo Saraceni in Positano.

Overall:
Once we got into the apartment, we opened the doors and windows to the most fantastic view of the sea, the hillsides, rocky cliffs and the town you can imagine. A wonderful breeze wandered through the house.
Enjoyed Most:

The view from the terrace is spectacular, with cooling breezes from the sea and the waves lapping on the beach. We were treated to a full moon over the boats sitting in the harbor and could see most of Positano from our vantage point.
Enjoyed Least:

The kitchen was small and dark.
Surrounding Area:

Positano is a gorgeous town built into limestone cliffs overlooking the sea. There are lots of hills to walk around on, a lovely stretch of beach and interesting towns nearby. We took a day trip to Pompeii -- a formidable experience.
Events or Locales:

We enjoyed the town of Ravello very much. Very charming, great shoppping (be sure to visit Pasqual's "Ceramica del'Arte) and wonderful ambiance.
Tips or Restaurants:

If you can avoid it, don't bring a car. It is a pain, the streets are clogged with traffic, parking is hard to find and very expensive. Much better to use the fast and inexpensive boat services between ports(seasonal) and the buses (although crowded are plentiful).

Overall:
This property is simply incredible. The accommodations were perfect for the four of us. We just could not believe that we were in the best location, with the best view, and in a beautiful villa. We had everything we could possibly need, and spent most of our time on the covered terrace which was spacious also, with plenty of outdoor furniture and a large dining table. Huge shuttered french doors opened on to the terrace from our bedroom. We slept with them open at night. We felt very safe and secure because there is a locked gate you enter from the street, walk down 35 steps to another locked gate that opens directly to our villa. The terrace is surrounded by lush foliage and flowering jasmine that filled the air with wonderful perfume.
Enjoyed Most:

The view! We enjoyed sitting on the terrace for breakfast each morning, and again at sunset watching the people and boats below.
Surrounding Area:

We were ideally situated in the town of Positano. Only 35 steps up to the street, and just a 5-minute walk to the shopping area and bus stop.
Events or Locales:

Ravello is a must for a day trip and our favorite. Pompeii is also a must and will take most of the day as well. Having drinks at the Hotel Siraneuse, next door is a wonderful experience, as well as at the Hotel San Pietro on the edge of town.
Tips or Restaurants:

Da Vincenzo in Positano was a favorite and full of locals. Il Ritrovo, in Montepartuso, on the hill above Positano. They will send a van to pick you up and take you home. Wonderful, local cooking, and they gave us a gift bag of seasoning when we left. Also we enjoyed Donna Rossa in Montepartuso.

September

Overall:
I highly recommend this property and would rent it again without hesitation.
Enjoyed Most:
The view was amazing! Beautiful setting, excellent location, charming house.
Enjoyed Least:
The beds were just a little uncomfortable.
Surrounding Area:
There was a great neighborhood restaurant right next door and it was great to be right next to Hotel Le Sirenuse.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Was in short walking distance to the center of Positano and to the beach.

Holly, September

Overall:
We were there during the height of the tourist season and the heat. Positano (not the propery) might be the noisiest place on earth during high season. In the 8 days we were there, there was a rock concert, fashion show on the beach, a rehersal for the former, ferries blowing whistles just on Sundays?, fireworks most nights, and a variety of other noises.
Enjoyed Most:
The view is spectacular. The Amalfi Coast is reputed as the most beautiful coastline in the world, and this villa has a great view of it. The patio around the villa is planted very nicely, although some of the vegetation was struggling in the extreme heat of this summer.
Enjoyed Least:
We could have used more fans, with the hottest summer in recorded history. The shower could have been a little better, it's the kind where you have to hold up the shower head, but maybe that's standard.
Surrounding Area:
Positano is a mixed bag. It's beautiful, both naturally and architectually. There is a ton of shopping, restaurants and tourists. We weren't big on the shopping. It was pretty expensive and not a great value. Even Capri, with several ferries leave from Positano, seemed cheaper and less touristy. We're very into food, and the restaurants ranged from good to excellent. There were a lot of tourists staying there, and even more come during the day. The town of Amalfi might be a better bet if you feel the same.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The villa is right in Positano, about 300 meters up Via C Colombo from Via dei Mulini, the pedestrian only section. About a 5 minute walk to town, 10 minutes to the beach, and maybe 15 mintues back up. About 600 meters in the other direction on Via C Colombo takes you up to Via G Marconi and the SITA bus stop to Sorrento or Amalfi. Note this is the second Positano SITA stop when coming from Sorrento.
Tips or Restaurants:
Use the SITA, it's cheap and easy once you figure it out. Buy tickets in town before you walk up the hill to the stop. We loved the food and atmosphere at Valle dei Mulini. The price was pretty reasonable too. It's down the Via C Colombo, just before the hairpin turn. Buca di Bacco is also very good. The upstairs restaurant is different, more expensive and better than the lower bar. Take flip-flops if you want to go in the sea, it's a pebble beach.
