Customer Reviews

Overall:
Our group of ten had a very enjoyable experience at the property.
Enjoyed Most:
The views were spectacular. Also the owner and her daughter were very pleasant and helpful.
Enjoyed Least:
Because we were the first renters of the season and it was an unusually late spring, it was quite chilly in the house.
Surrounding Area:
We were able to take day trips to Pisa, Florence and other small towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteriggioni. It was fairly far and you had to walk through a field so we never ended up walking into town.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring warm clothing if it is early in the season.
Directions:
The directions to the property were very good. We used a GPS and had no trouble finding the place.
Check In Out:
The check in and check out went very smoothly. The owners were very pleasant and helpful.

Marv, May

Overall:
Excellent overall experience. Owners very helpful in assisting in directions and restaurant reservations.
Enjoyed Most:
Layout, views, pool.
Enjoyed Least:
Drawbacks were inconsistent hot water and low pressure in showers, and the bedrooms were hot even with floor fans. Ceiling fans may have helped.
Surrounding Area:
What is not to enjoy. Tuscany is beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
You could walk to Montereggioni. But by car it was a short ride.
Tips or Restaurants:
Need better directions to villa. GPS helped once we found the Property and could program. Il Pozzo in Montereggioni, and La Buccacia in Cortona. Day at beach at Porto Ercole suggested by Luisa was great.

Holly, August

Overall:
Our stay was wonderful and we especially liked the pool and the view.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool and view.
Enjoyed Least:
The bedrooms were warm. Fans would have helped.
Surrounding Area:
Easy access to Siena, Volterra, and Florence.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteriggioni; yes, it's within walking distance.

Overall:
Amazing!
Enjoyed Most:
I loved the house and the pool, but the best thing about this property was having the owners right next door. They were so helpful with restaurant recommendations, train bus schedules, museum reservations, area information, etc., etc.... and they were a joy to talk to!
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.
Surrounding Area:
Beauty as far as the eye could see. Plenty of places to take a walk or go for a bike ride.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were within walking distance to the walled town of Monteriggioni a little adventurous walk but fun and a short drive to Sienna.
Tips or Restaurants:
The house was well stocked when we arrived - more than we expected. We were even provided with coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt, jams, and cereal. Just ask Luisa for restaurant recommendations and you will not be disappointed.

Overall:
We felt like we were at home - we could look forward to gathering by the pool each evening and talking about our day. Not at all like a hotel experience.
Enjoyed Most:
The owners-property managers were absolutely wonderful. They couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They felt like family by the end of the week.
Enjoyed Least:
One of the showers didn't work too well - no big deal.
Surrounding Area:
It was just beautiful countryside.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteriggioni was the nearest town - very small. You could walk there, but the road was pretty narrow and the trail was an adventure.
Tips or Restaurants:
It was very well equipped - even had a basket of things to fix for dinner if you arrived after the markets closed. Pool towels were included.

Overall:
We were very, very satisfied. If we do this again, we won't bother looking for another villa. we'll definitely go back to this one.
Enjoyed Most:
The owners and the location.
Enjoyed Least:
The slight freeway noise outside. Really not a big deal, but practically the only minor negative.
Surrounding Area:
Walkable to Monteriggioni. Centrally located for ALL Tuscan day trips.
Tips or Restaurants:
Everything was provided. The owners are the most gracious, pleasant people we ever met. Ththey really made the place.
Directions:
Very simple.
Check In Out:
Very friendly hosts.

Overall:
We can't wait to return!
Enjoyed Most:
The property was absolutely beautiful. The views were incredible and the location was very convenient for day trips and for getting food. We cooked several meals for 23 people in one of the kitchens and it was very well equipped for our needs. We had our wedding in the garden followed by an unbelievable meal catered by a local chef. It was definitely something that we all will remember for the rest of our lives.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing!
Surrounding Area:
Picturesque Tuscan countryside, olive trees, vineyards, cypress trees. It was very accessible by car. Many of the guests simply took a taxi from the Siena train station.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteriggioni was about a 15-minute walk away by a trail. It is a very well preserved walled city with a few restaurants and shops. Siena, which offers much more was only about a 15-minute car ride away.
Tips or Restaurants:
We highly suggest taking advantage of the local markets and grocery stores and cooking meals at the villa. The food is very inexpensive and it was a lot of fun for everyone to participate.
Directions:
All of the taxi drivers were able to find it with no problem just as long as you could give them the address and map.
Check In Out:
The owners of the villa were great in helping us get settled and also with the wedding arrangements. We could not have asked for more gracious hosts.

Overall:
Utterly fantastic!!
Enjoyed Most:
The location was out of this world. Gorgeous views and the property had so much history. I could not recommend a better place to spend a week or more. Also, the property owners were very accommodating and helpful.
Enjoyed Least:
I honestly can't tell you anything we didn't like.
Surrounding Area:
The scenery, vineyards, the ease with which to travel to other cities.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest town was Monteriggioni. It was within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
You must eat at Il Pozzo in Monteriggioni. Incredible food in an incredible setting. Bring a sense of adventure and a state of mind to relax and have one of the best travel experiences of your life!!
Directions:
Drive until you get to the big cypress trees.
Check In Out:
About as easy as it gets.

Overall:
Go! It is a beautiful villa with surrounding adventure. Having a base camp was easy for day traveling, but it could be a quiet retreat if that's what you want. We stayed one week and felt a few more days would have been better. A reason to go back. The villa is very safe, if older kids wanted to stay behide for the day. There is a pool, ping-pong table, or sleeping for those who need a quiet day away from family, either parents or kids. We traveled with another family of 5, 3 teenagers as well. They stayed in the main villa, so it was very easy to meet up. The family that owns the villa is very kind and would do anything to help us. I would most definitely like to go back!
Enjoyed Most:
We felt very welcomed at La Casa. It is a family owned and run villa, which includes their daily life. Our family of 5 felt very comfortable walking around the villa to visit another family on the estate that we were traveling with. Sharing the entire villa with another family was perfect. Our teenagers were comfortable.
Enjoyed Least:
The owner has large dogs. They were friendly for the most part.
Surrounding Area:
Traveling to the many little hill towns. One week was not enough time, but a good start.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteriggioni was about a 45-minute walk away.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa was well stocked as far as cooking pots, for feeding about 8 people. However, if more were needed, I'm sure Louisa would accommodate. Hairdryers were a plus as well as a washer. There was a fantastic restaurant in the town of Monteriggioni as well as a fun bar. Easy to find, town is only a walled square. We also had a cooking class at the main villa for 10 of us, 6 teenagers great fun!!
