Customer Reviews

Overall:
Wonderful, lovely, large apartment in the heart of Rome/
Enjoyed Most:
Proximity to the heart of Rome and lively atmosphere all within a stone's throw of the apartment
Surrounding Area:
Shops, restaurants etc. and no need to get a taxi--just walk to everything
Tips or Restaurants:
Paris restaurant over in Trastevere.
Directions:
Hired a car organized by RentVillas.

Greg, April

Overall:
Great location! Very comfortable apartment.
Enjoyed Most:
Location.
Enjoyed Least:
Newer towels would have been nice.
Surrounding Area:
Great location, easy walking distance to all of the wonderful sites Roma has to offer.
Tips or Restaurants:
Everything we needed for the kitchen was provided. The store is right around the corner, so we just bought shampoo, etc.
Directions:
Directions were easy and the cab driver knew right where it was.
Check In Out:
We called ahead and gave them an approximate time for our arrival. The key holder was very nice and easy to understand and let us know what was around us, etc.

Rhonda, June

Overall:
Our experience was positive. We enjoyed having an apartment versus a hotel because it enabled us to sit all together in the privacy of our living room and also to have a kitchen.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was the best! Charming street, no car access and right down the street from Campo dei Fiori. A great market.
Enjoyed Least:
We found the bedding to be thin and stained. The bath towels were rough and scratchy. Quality, comfortable bedding and new, fluffy, soft towels would have enhanced our stay.
Surrounding Area:
The area was more upscale than other parts of Rome. There were coffee shops and resturants right out of our door along with the market down the street.
Directions:
We took a taxi, no problems.

Maureen , May

Overall:
Very good. The living area was large enough.
Enjoyed Most:
Location was fantastic. We walked everywhere we wanted to go.
Enjoyed Least:
The beds were a little hard--but I found the same in Paris so it's probably a European thing. Washer/dryer just didn't work that way I would expect. We had a hard time getting stuff to dry--this is probably the way they work in Italy.
Surrounding Area:
The market and restaurants were good. Across the Tiber to Trastevere was close--best restaurants were there.
Directions:
We took a taxi from the airport.
Check In Out:
Hassan did an excellent job of walking us through the property and showing us where destinations were realtive to our apartment.

Karen, May

Overall:
Very good.
Enjoyed Most:
Being near Campo Dei Fiori.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing to not like.
Surrounding Area:
The Farmer's Market, restaurants, bakery, shops.
Directions:
I thought i had arranged to get into the property at about 11AM, but was not allowed in until 3PM. we spent the day wandering around Rome. Could have been a big problem if it had been raining.

Jill and Mark, May

Enjoyed Most:
The location is excellent.

Janet , June

Overall:
The location was fabulous!
Enjoyed Most:
The location.
Surrounding Area:
Easy Access.
Nearby Events or Locales:
It was close to everything.

Warren, July

Overall:
Fabulous!
Enjoyed Most:
Proximity to everything.
Enjoyed Least:
Elevator noise in the bedroom in the morning.
Surrounding Area:
Convenience.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Campo dei Fiori.
Tips or Restaurants:
Rossoli, just around the corner. Best pizza I ever ate in my life!

Randee, April

Overall:
Its proximity to the Campo dei Fiori is very convenient.
Enjoyed Most:
Its location and proximity to shopping, restaurants and historical sites.
Enjoyed Least:
The furniture is worn and needs replacement, particularly in the living room. The kitchen was not as functional as we expected, i.e. a two-burner stove top and a very small coffee maker. The second bedroom is small and may accommodate young children but is inadequate for a married couple or two adults, in my opinion.
Surrounding Area:
Shopping venues, restaurants, tabbachi and fruit and flower markets, all within easy walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Although the apartment is featured as "accommodating up to six people," I would not recommend it for more than a family of two adults with two children.
Directions:
Both key holders were most helpful when I needed to call them. Since we arrived late in the afternoon the taxi could not take us directly to the apartment due to via del Giubbonari being closed to motorized traffic. I called the property manager and he met us within minutes and escorted us to the property. He also helped us in making arrangements for a car to take us to the airport at the end of our stay.
Check In Out:
No problems whatsoever. We needed to leave early on Saturday and someone was there at the appointed time.

Leroy, October

Overall:
The property was in an excellent location. We were within walking distance of the many restaurants at the Campo de Fiori and also the Piazza Navona.
Enjoyed Most:
We walked to almost every sight we intended to see except for Vatican City. The apartment was also roomy and spacious enough. The person who gave us the key was very friendly and punctual. He also spoke perfect English, which was a big plus. The directions for all of the appliances were also a big help, since some European appliances are difficult to use
Enjoyed Least:
The apartment was a little darker than I would have liked, but better lighting could fix this.
Surrounding Area:
Since some of the people in our party were in their early twenties, we liked the fact that the area was quite lively at night. Even though we were close to the action, the noise wasn't really a problem for me and my husband. I also liked the fact that there was shopping and restaurants right out the front door.
Tips or Restaurants:
My husband and I liked the restaurants at Piazza Navona. The younger people liked the less expensive food they found at Campo dei Fiori.

Linda, July

Enjoyed Most:
Location. Loved the fact that the market was right down the street and most of the sites in Rome were within walking distance.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen was a bit challenging for cooking dinner, but we went out for dinner every night, so it didn't really matter.
Surrounding Area:
The market and walking to the sites.
Directions:
Arranging a driver to pick us up at the airport worked out well.

Dianne, June

Overall:
The location is FANTASTIC if you want the feel of the city of Rome. You are walking distance to most of Rome's attractions. The property managers and the landlord were MOST accommodating and helped us in every way possible!!
Enjoyed Most:
The location. The proximity to all sites but in particular the Campo de Fiori was excellent.
Enjoyed Least:
The street entry door.....lots of grafitti, but most othere doors were the same.
Tips or Restaurants:
The suggestions you sent we follwed to a tee and they were perfect.
Directions:
I would make it clear that upon arrival at the airport you should call the property manager even if you have arranged a car service. We arrived at the property and were not greeted at the apartment but had to go down the street and call him from a phone booth.
Check In Out:
Property managers were efficient, accurate and most charming.

Tina, September

Overall:
Considering this property is in a building dating back to near the 1400s, it was very nice. You cannot expect it to be like home, but the spacious area is much better than a hotel room in my opinion, and one can really get the flavor of the country. Also, there is a great market right up the street which sells the best fruit and vegetables!
Enjoyed Most:
The location of this property is the best. Truly everything is within walking distance and there is a lot of activity and cafes to enjoy. It was also very nice to have a family room area where we could all sit and make plans and talk about the day.
Enjoyed Least:
The floors were dirty not to look at, but walking on them gave us black sticky feet.
Surrounding Area:
The area was not full of just tourists. We were able to meet locals and find out the places they go to for a real Italian experience.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We have been traveling since July 5 from Trieste to San Marino to Rome and we are currently in Florence, staying at another Rentvillas property. It is absolutely beautiful!
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring plastic storage bags if you plan to cook, and also be sure to buy paper towels and toilet tissue. There was none available for us on our arrival.
Directions:
The locals are very helpful in giving directions, but you may want to ask a couple of different people. We got completely different directions on more than one occasion, so we took the best 2 out of 3 and that worked for us.
Check In Out:
Max was great! Very nice and helpful. This was a very smooth process.

Kathy, July

Overall:
The apartment was very nice, clean and quiet.
Enjoyed Most:
Great location, an easy walk to many historic sites, close to many nice eateries and a stone's throw to the Piazza del Campo.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen is a bit awkward and really isn't outfitted to cook real meals, but with all the restaurants that are available, who cared...
Tips or Restaurants:
If you come by taxi, have them let you off in the Piazza Cairoli near the farmacia marked by a large green cross. Then walk up Via Giubbonari. It's much closer than walking from the Camp dei Fiori.

Joe, May

Overall:
The location is fantastic. Check out the American bar down the street. It will make you feel right at home in a foreign country.
Enjoyed Most:
The location at the Campo de Fiori
Enjoyed Least:
There was nothing not to like.
Surrounding Area:
The convenience to getting to all the tourist places. The taxi stand was a 5 minute walk from where we were staying. All the places we went to were about 10 Euros for the ride.
Tips or Restaurants:
You don't need to bring anything. There are delis and coffee places right in the neighborhood.
Check In Out:
They were great in accommodating our travel schedule.

Pam, October

Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location! The apartment is just up the narrow, cobblestone street from the Campo dei Fiori and is an very short stroll to the Piazza Navona. The daily market at the Campo was wonderful for purchasing our daily fruits and vegetables, and for the food and paper products we couldn't find there, the little supermarket around the corner was so very handy. We walked to many places in Rome, and for those places we didn't walk to, we were able to hail taxis right at the end of our street. One of my favourite memories of the apartment will be of leaning out the window and watching this part of Rome come to life every morning.
Enjoyed Least:
After lots of confusion with the address, I finally called the local agent and he promplty met us at the apartment building and all was straightened out.
Surrounding Area:
The convenience to the many attractions of Rome, but even more importantly, the daily comings and goings of folks in the Campo area. The Campo was alive with people from morning til night, and Piazza Navona was even livelier.
Tips or Restaurants:
None. Everything we needed was already there.
Check In Out:
The local agent was terrific - very prompt, very professional, very helpful. He even arranged for the taxi to take us to the airport.

Janet, July

Overall:
We would stay there again.
Enjoyed Most:
Great location for seeing all of Rome's sights. Very comfortable apartment. Good beds, Good air conditioning.
Enjoyed Least:
The tile floors are hard to keep clean. The upholstered furniture in the living room needs to be steam cleaned - nice furniture, but needs a simple cleaning. The bathrooms were clean.
Surrounding Area:
Eveything you need is steps away.
Tips or Restaurants:
Vecchia Roma restaurant near Piazza Campitelli, best food in beautiful piazza.
Directions:
The key holder was very helpful, and we were allowed to check in in the morning instead of having to wait until 5 pm.

Matthew , July

Enjoyed Most:
Great location. Apartment was well-stocked, with appropriate kitchenware, more than enough bathroom towels, etc. The apartment was comfortable. It was very nice to have access to a phone.
Enjoyed Least:
The apartment was noisy, even though the windows have double-paned glass, and it is a pedestrian-only street. Also, the air conditioning wall units had a hard time keeping up with the heat wave. The washer sort of worked, but left clothes wet.
Surrounding Area:
So much to do in the surrounding area Rome! We walked to many areas of Rome. It was a great location!
Tips or Restaurants:
Come during the cooler season. Don't eat at a restaurant on a main tourist site, such as Piazza Navona. Try to follow the locals to somewhere good to eat.

Melissa, June

Overall:
We loved this apartment for the location, size, convenience and interesting architectural details. We will stay here again.
Enjoyed Most:
The location and layout. The bedrooms are in the back of the apartment, which makes it very quiet at night.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing.
Surrounding Area:
The Campo dei Fiori market and almost all the sights are within walking distance or a short Metro ride. There are any number of places to eat, sit and have a drink, people watch, shop.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring good walking shoes, a sense of adventure and openess to a different way of life. Of course, you may need some toilet paper, etc. There is a notebook in the credenza with the location of the nearest grocery store. Read the directions for the washer before using - the trick is to set all the dials prior to starting the machine. Pierluigi on Piazza Ricci near Piazza Farnese is a great restaurant to try.

John , May

Overall:
We enjoyed the property very much. It was well-equipped.
Enjoyed Most:
Location was great.
Enjoyed Least:
The second bathroom needs a bit of a cleanup.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Walking distance to all major sightseeing.

Janis, May

Enjoyed Most:
The apartment was very spacious and also provided a nice, quiet respite. The beds were very comfortable, even the sofabed in the living room had a far better design than American sofabeds. Both bathrooms were very nice. The kitchen was also well equipped. The location couldn't be better.
Enjoyed Least:
The stove and oven are a bit small if you really wanted to cook, but that's hardly a complaint.
Surrounding Area:
Easy walking distance to just about everything you'd want to see in Rome.
Tips or Restaurants:
Pizza Taglio just off Campo de Fiore has great take-out or eat-in. Of all the cafes on Campo de Fiore, Heartbreak has the best food, by far, even with its American name. Pierluigi, a short walk away, is also really good for seafood. Be sure to cross the river and try the little places in Trastevere -- particularly Da Gildo.

Julie, January

Overall:
The two bedrooms were as quiet as tombs They are in the back of the apartment, away from the street noise. Beds were comfortable and cozy. The fold-out bed in the living room was very comfortable. Even though I heard the sound of nightlife all night while sleeping in the living room, musicians, dogs fighting, drunken singing, street cleaning machinery, I actually slept well.. If you are sensitive to noise, sleep in the back bedrooms or wear ear plugs in the living room or adopt a sense of humor.
Enjoyed Most:
I loved the location. We could walk to most places we wanted to see. The market at Campo di Fiori was so close and ever-changing. All of the clothes shopping we wanted to do could have been done right on our own little street.
Enjoyed Least:
The only complaint was from my nieces, 19 and 23, because the blow dryer in the bathroom just kind of whispered, so it took a long time to get dry. Lots of pouting about bad hair until we found an Italian blow dryer in a local grocery store. We were intimidated by the washing machine and avoided using it until we couldn't stand our towels anymore. It only holds two of the bath towels at a time and it took all day to wash and dry them - well, they never actually did dry!! Maybe a second set of towels would be preferable to washing our own.
Surrounding Area:
Internet cafe nearby. Grocery store nearby. Great shopping right outside the door.
Tips or Restaurants:
Our experience, just squeezing through the crowd in The Drunken Ship, was great fun. Never could get a drink. But we found good restaurants right off of the Campo. For great pizza by the slice, turn right out of the front door and the first little cafe on the left has the best pizza and friendly girls who smile while you point and say That one!. We never could figure out how to get our laptop to connect to the dialup in the apartment. So we found an Internet cafe very close by. In the mornings, the front door bell will ring and you won't know why at first. It's the trash men, I finally figured out. I watched them from the livingroom window and they ring every button for every apartment until somebody buzzes them in so they can get the trash.
Directions:
We had a car pick us up and take us back to the airport so we didn't need to have directions.
Check In Out:
The property manager were very helpful, polite, and available by phone and on time for appointments.

Lisa, November

Overall:
We could not have been happier. It really help make our stay in Rome a memorable one.
Enjoyed Most:
The location!! You coudn't find a better situated spot. We were within walking distance to the Forum in 15 minutes, Pantheon in 10 minutes , Coliseum in 25 minutes, Vatican in 25 minutes, and the Piazza Navona in 10 minute. Great street to be on. A wonderul place.
Enjoyed Least:
I honestly can't think of anything. I could probably come up with somthing minor, but that would not reflect what a great experience we had.
Surrounding Area:
Everything! Pastry shops, morning market, restaurants, central location...
Tips or Restaurants:
Get pastry in the morning and enjoy an early coffee. Go out early because there's so much to see!! Great restaurants over the Ponte Siste!
Check In Out:
Very efficient, very good

Annette, July

Enjoyed Most:
It's location is perfect and the apartment is well appointed and very comfortable. Also it has more closet space than most homes!
Enjoyed Least:
Not enough linens.
Surrounding Area:
Everything! The Campo de Fiori market and the proximity to buses and the sites was just excellent.
Tips or Restaurants:
I will get back to you on this. There are so many wonderful resaurants in Rome but we were directed to a few by friends that were excellent.

Martha, July

Enjoyed Most:
Great location. Very close to a great piazza. Good restaurants and shopping.
Enjoyed Least:
It was all good.
Surrounding Area:
Lots of action. It was fun to observe the people at the piazza.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Rome!

Robert, June

Overall:
The apartment was large enough and clean. The beds were comfortable.
Enjoyed Most:

The location
Surrounding Area:

Convenient to walk everywhere to shops, restaurants,a fresh vegetable market and churches.
Tips or Restaurants:

Be aware. Rome has pickpockets. Restaurant named Heartbreak in Campo di Fiori was inexpensive and good.

September

Overall:
The apartment is located in the heart of Rome, walking distance from any place you might want to visit in the city. The apartment is very clean, well equipped, and surprisingly spacious. Despite it's central location, the apartment is very quiet and peaceful.
Enjoyed Most:
The perfect location and the air-conditioning.
Liked Least:

Driving in Rome was very frustrating. We felt better once we returned our car.
Surrounding Area:

The apartment is located in an old building, on a small street that connects Piazza Campo dei Fiori and Piazza Cairoli. The street is full of small shops, on Campo dei Fiori there is a produce market every morning, as well as little bakeries and other special grocery stores. Numerous restaurants.
Tips or Restaurants:

The guest book in the apartment has some restaurant recommendations.
