- About The Experience
Rent an accommodation in Paris, France, located in Montparnasse, the 14th district of Paris! The Rue Daguerre is a charming pedestrian street, made magical by countless shops, coffee houses, and restaurants in traditional Parisian style. From your furnished apartment in Paris you'll have some local sights to see on foot and a convenient metro stop, and you'll also be able to shop in the open market just outside the building.
- Location Description
This vacation apartment is located in the midst of the Montparnasse district on Rue Daguerre (cross street Rue Boulard), a block away from the Cemetiere du Montparnasse (post-mortem residence of many of France's greats, as well as nameless skeletons in the catacombs below). You will also be 200 meters from the Place Denfert-Rochereau, where there is a metro stop of the same name. Nearby is Montparnasse Boulevard, home to notable cafes such as Select, Coupole, Dome, Rotonde and the Closerie des Lilas. You'll find a street market on Edgar-Quinet Boulevard, the Observatoire de Paris on Arago, and Rodin's Balzac on Raspail.
Nearby Attractions: The city of Paris! Explore Paris on foot to find the hidden treasures of the city of light. Unknown too many are the Beehives of the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg – hit the beehives at the right time in the fall and you’ll be able to purchase the honey. The popular cocktail bar, Les Etages, has two “branches”, one located in the Marais; the other in St Germain. The covered market, Marche St.-Quentin, dates back to 1860, and has 30 plus stalls of mouth- watering cheese, baked goods, meats and more. La Perlerie is a tiny store offering bronze and silver bracelet and necklace charms and you can assemble your jewelry right in the store. For some of the best steak frites of Paris, stop by Le Relais de l’Entrecôte, known simply as l’Entrecôte, but expect a wait of at least a half-hour.

- Exterior Description
This building has the best of both worlds—the charm of the old and the comfort of the new. Although recently renovated, the front of the building is in keeping with the character of the street. The interior, however, is very modern and secure: there is an elevator, and clients can enter only after passing through two keypads. This second floor studio has the added benefit of a balcony opening to the southeast. It has two chairs and a little table to allow sunny breakfasting.
- Interior Description
- (35 m2/376 ft2)
Second Floor (with elevator):
A small entryway opens into a kitchen/bedroom area. The queen-size bed (160 cm) rests in a pine frame that matches the wood flooring, creating a well-lit, open atmosphere. In the corner sits a small dining table with a couple of chairs, a TV, and beyond that a wall of windows opening onto the balcony. The corner kitchen contains a mini-fridge, cook-top, microwave, coffee maker, sink, dishwasher, and washing machine. The bathroom, in its own room, has a tub with shower, toilet, and sink. Finally, in an alcove across from the kitchen, there is a small desk where visitors with a laptop can access a high-speed, unlimited internet connection.

Customer Reviews
Enjoyed Most:
We liked where the property was located -- far away from "touristy" areas, but in a vibrant part of the city. We also really enjoyed sitting on the balcony.
Enjoyed Least:
The seal on the shower door was old, and every time one of us took a shower water leaked all over the bathroom floor.
Surrounding Area:
We really enjoyed that the property was on a pedestrian-only street. There were lots of food shops and cafes on our street, several of which were open on Sundays unlike in the rest of Paris. It is a very vibrant area, but without that many tourists.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you plan on doing a lot of cooking, bring your own knives -- the ones at the property were all small and serrated. We enjoyed the gelato shop, Amorino, a few doors down, and Cafe Daguerre, on the corner. The bakery around the corner, on Avenue General Leclerc, has organic bread and pastries.

Overall:
To live almost like a local was a great experience. Having to shop, cook and arrange our own sightseeing was an extra to the travel experience we have not had before.
Enjoyed Most:
The Location.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing
Surrounding Area:
Being in the middle of a vehicle-free street, the local restaurants at our door step, the shopping for groceries etc being also at our door step. The close proximity to Paris and all the tourist attractions
Tips or Restaurants:
The shops have weird opening hours so make sure you have your breakfast needs each night.
Check In Out:
The check in was rushed.
