About The Experience
There are so many unique characteristics about this villa in St John that it's hard to know where to begin! On the other hand, we're just going come out say what we think your favorite is going to be: a private staircase down to the white sands of Haulover Bay Beach! That's right, whenever you feel like swimming or snorkeling, you'll only have to take a quick walk from this Caribbean accommodation. Should you get hungry on your way out the door, be sure to pick some fresh fruit from the garden of this villa for rent in St John.
Location Description
This property features a private staircase down to Haulover Bay Beach, which many believe offers the best snorkeling on the island of St John. Coral Bay is about two miles away and is a small village where there are artsy shops, fun restaurants, and quirky bars, all with a laidback atmosphere. Although St. John is the smallest of the US Virgin Islands, it's often considered the most beautiful. The beaches around Coral Bay offer all types of water sports that include kayaking, windsurfing, and snorkeling. St. John has many different hiking trails that range in length and difficulty, especially through Virgin Island's National Park, which makes up over 7,000 acres. In addition to hiking trails, there are coral reefs, beaches, historical ruins, and guided tours. For more cultural activities, every spring means the annual arrival of the St. John Blues Festival where nearly everyone on this island will be celebrating with live music, games, and more. The island's main town, Cruz Bay, is located on the other side of the island across from the St. Thomas ferry dock.

    Customer Reviews

    Overall:
We absolutely loved the place. It was extremely remote and quiet and provided a relaxing vacation. We were able to experience the quieter side of the island, which we loved! The escort to the property was excellent. She helped us find the grocery store and even waited while we purchased a few essentials. She showed us the gas station and then escorted us out to our remote property. Upon arrival, she reviewed all of the essential items necessary.
    Enjoyed Most:
The remote location and the views. We loved everything about the property.
    Enjoyed Least:
The only negative was the refrigerator. The freezer was not shutting properly and would occasionally melt if not shut properly. The accessible beach/bay was not as easy to reach as we thought it might be. You do need to be in fairly good athletic shape to reach the beach.
    Surrounding Area:
The remote, quiet location. The description of the property did give some warning that there was a property under consruction next door but we did not notice it and we could almost not see the property at all.
    Nearby Events or Locales:
Coral Bay was the closest area to us from the house. It was not within walking distance but was a short drive.
    Tips or Restaurants:
I do recommend making reservations for any of the restaurants in this more remote area. The food was excellent in every restaurant we dined at towards the east end of the island. However, we did find that having a reservation was necessary so they could prepare an adequate amount of food. Restaurant owners seemed to be much more accommodating to diners with a reservation.
    Directions:
There are only a few roads on St. John. It is not difficult to navigate.
    Check In Out:
None! Loved the island and absolutely loved this property. I hope to return some time soon!

    Overall:
This was our best vacation experience as a family.
    Enjoyed Most:
The views, the layout and the ability to roll up the walls.
    Enjoyed Least:
It was about 15 minutes away from anything but that is also a nice thing.
    Surrounding Area:
Beautiful views, windy roads and animals.
    Nearby Events or Locales:
Coral Bay and it was not within walking distance.
    Tips or Restaurants:
Donkey Diner, Aqua Bistro, Cafe Concordia were all great places to eat. Bring plenty of sun screen.
    Directions:
The nice thing is that the property manager drove to the site and we followed her. She met us a the ferry dock, drove to the rental car place, drove to the grocery store and then we followed her to the house.
    Check In Out:
Check in and check out were easy. We really did nothing except take the garbage to the dumpster on our way out.
