Questions and Answers From Our Clients
(Click the question to view the answer)
Q: What should we bring from home to make life easier at the Villa?
A: The villa has most of the things you will need, including cutlery and dishes. However, along with your usual travel items, you may want to bring bathroom tissue and soap. We ran out of these while on site at the property. If you are planning on washing your clothes, you may also want to bring some laundry detergent. Finally, if you drink coffee in the morning, the property does not have a coffee maker (percolator), so that is something you may want to take into consideration.
A: a cell phone, sunscreen, an extra pair of glasses (reading and sun-protection), a COMFORTABLE pair of shoes
Q: Has anyone arrived from Naples on the Ferry?
A: I did not arrive by ferry but I saw people get on and off the only thing is if they have a lot of bags they have to get them to Baleno and the steps are killers. I hope these people are young. Baleno is very nice we had a great time there.
A: Although we first arrived by a taxi van (prearraged car service), I would recommend taking the ferry from Naples (which we did on day trips to various places). The drive fron Naples to Positano is beautiful, but I became very car sick both ways and thought I would throw-up.
Q: 1. We are traveling late Sept. early Oct., what can we expect about the weather and the type of clothes to have for men and women?
A: The weather is warm during the day and it cools off at night. Light jacket or sweater during the evenings. We also encountered some heavy rain showers in the evening. So some rain gear or an umbrella would be handy. The rain refreshed the air and the lightning lit up the sky and the mountains. Very beautiful.

Customer Reviews
Overall:
Overall experience was good. The apartment is very cute and is well stocked. Would have liked to have been a little closer to Positano proper, but the area we were in, Fornillo, was quaint and just as picturesque.
Enjoyed Most:
The kitchen was great. Can't think of a single thing that is lacking. We could have cooked almost anything there although we did not get around to any cooking as we mostly ate out except for breakfast.
Unpleasant Surprises:
We did not care for the bed or the bathrooms. The bed and pillows do need to be replaced as they are very hard. Although it was nice to have two, the shower in the bathrooms was very small, and we are not large people. Lighting was also very bad in the bathroom off the bedroom.
Surrounding Area:
This is a nice, safe area. We had no complaints about the area.
Tips or Restaurants:
You should bring your own pillowcases, and pillows too if you have room.

Overall:
Very good experience overall. Kitchen was well stocked when we arrived and the pictures on the web site were very representative. Positano is very picturesque and the atmosphere is very charming.
Enjoyed Most:
The location, the space, the well-stocked kitchen, the convenience of being able to cook your own meals. The view of the Mediterranean from the balcony is spectacular. The 104-step climb to the front door provided us with the opportunity to exercise every day which was an added bonus.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The neighbourhood barking dogs at all hours of the day and night. The property was far from the beach.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding area did not feel "touristy". We actually felt like locals taking our daily walks down to the beach, going to the grocery store, butcher shop, fruit stand and just browsing the shops. It was quite enjoyable.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you intend to cook your own meals, a cookbook, measuring cup and spoons, spices and a whisk would be very useful.
We took a day trip to Capri and would highly recommend eating at "Da Gemma". We had the best pizza during our three-week stay in Italy.
Directions:
Not applicable as we had a driver pick us up at the Naples train station.
Check In Out:
Teresa met us when we arrived. She gave us a tour of the villa, provided instructions for all the appliances, recommended some restaurants, etc.

Overall:
The most wonderful vacation in Europe my husband and daughter and I have ever had.
Enjoyed Most:
The beautiful scenery and breathtaking views. Hospitality of the property owner, and Antoinetta, the Rentvillas representative were incredible. Airlines lost our luggage and they ran to our immediate rescue and helped us retrieve our luggage, gave us extra wine, food, items, etc and even telephoned and spoke to the airline representatives in Italian for us!!
Unpleasant Surprises:
What's not to like? Everything was wonderful.
Surrounding Area:
The beach, hiking up and down the stairs got us really in shape while we were there. The markets were full of fresh veggies and fruits and the town people made us all feel welcome. The owner-manager of the little wine shop in town, Vino Rossi, was so accommodating and educational. Great wine at very inexpensive prices.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Not within walking distance at all. Not safe to walk as a pedestrian around the cliffs to get to other villages.
Tips or Restaurants:
Max Restaurant was absolutely tremendous. A wonderful meal, outstanding service, and a great wine list.
Bring good walking shoes and be prepared to carry your luggage up and down over a hundred flight of stairs one way!
Directions:
Had someone pick us up at Naples train station.
