    Overall:
Yes, indeed we did enjoy our stay at Il Terrazzino. If and when we visit Italy again, we will consider Rentvillas as an option for our accommodation. Thanks for everything.
    Enjoyed Most:
We especially appreciated that the owner made special arrangements for us to be given a look around some of the spectacular plaster decorations in the private portion of the property. That was a wonderful treat considering that we are engaged in the plaster conservation field in our working lives.

    Overall:
This is an adorable studio apartment with an incredibly convenient location. You can walk to the Duomo in 5 minutes. Train and bus station is about 10 minutes walk. The small balcony overlooks the Medice Chapel dome which is lovely. As I said, the place is small by American Standard. But it is lovely to live simply while you are travelling, at least for me.
    Enjoyed Most:
The location! However, reading something about the family who owns the building was fantastic. The family owned the building since 1600's. We were welcomed with a delicious bottle of red wine that was from their winery. In the hallways, you also see the family coat of arms. It retains its old historical charm. What I liked the most about the place is its location. It is centrally located. You can walk to everywhere the Duomo, Uffizi, Academia, Piazzas... It has several neighborhood markets where you can buy groceries if you are inclined to cook. I had great fun making espresso every morning and sipping it at the adorable balcony. It is definitely for no more than two people because it is a small place.
    Unpleasant Surprises:
Nothing really. I would stay there again. The sofa bed that becomes two separate twin beds might be odd for couples. But it was perfect for me because I was travelling with a friend.
    Surrounding Area:
Just being able to walk out of the apartment and enjoy the beautiful nights with such an ease because of its central location was priceless.
    Nearby Events or Locales:
You can easily take the bus or train to enjoy day trips. We managed to go to Lucca, Siena, and San Gimignano. Bus and trains are clean, comfortable and efficient. Keep in mind that I always took the first class train. No need to worry about your Italian. Everyone speaks English, and they are very kind and patient.
    Tips or Restaurants:
You really don't need to bring anything if you are like me who likes to travel light. What you forget to bring, you can easily buy at one of corner markets.
    Directions:
We took a taxi to get to the property from the SMN train station. We flew to Rome and stayed overnight in Rome before taking EuroStar to go to Florence.
    Check In Out:
Just get there when the porter is there. He speaks Spanish and was very helpful. They were so wonderful checking in with me when I arrived in Rome. I was so tired I did not call them promptly when I arrived in Rome, but they made sure that they got a hold of me first to find out my arrival time.

    Enjoyed Most:
It has a great central location in Florence. The apartment was very pleasant with a great deal of light and nice views. And it was well maintained.
    Unpleasant Surprises:
We had a mosquito problem, which is a more general problem in Florence.
    Surrounding Area:
Not only is apartment very close to the center of Florence, but it is also very close to the Central Market. It is a very nice building in the heart of central Florence.
    Nearby Events or Locales:
The apartment is within walking distance of all the locations of interest in Florence.
    Tips or Restaurants:
There are some great restaurants with reasonable prices in the general area of the central market, Via Pinacale, and Via Nationale.
    Directions:
It is an easy walk from the SMN train station, across the street from the Medici Riccardi palace.
