ExteriorDescription

Surrounded by vineyards, this ancient estate offers guests tranquility and magnificent views. The Fattoria is a working farm that produces internationally renowned wine. It was originally owned by the Capponi family, one of the most illustrious of the ancient Florentine families. The design of the main villa has been traced back to Bartolomeo Ammannati (1511-1592), a famous sculptor and architect of Florence. The estate has three farmhouses, two of which have recently been converted into a total of seven independent apartments. The first farmhouse is divided into four apartments: Krizia, Versace, Missoni, and Max Mara. The second farmhouse is divided into three apartments: Valentino, Armani, and Prada. The third farmhouse is Gucci; it is available for rent as one unit. In total, the three farmhouses can accommodate up to 51 people. The first and second farmhouses each have a separate pool, and each apartment has its own private outdoor area equipped with table and chairs. The pool area is equipped with deckchairs, umbrellas, and lounges.

Questions and Answers From Our Clients

(Click the question to view the answer)
Q: Tell me about the cook and if cooking lessons are offered. Is the bathroom adequate? Beds large enough?

A: We stayed self-catering so do not know about meals or cooking. When we arrived there was a small basket of food and a bottle of wine made on the premises to welcome us. There were local restaurants and shops although all were a drive away as the property is in the large grounds of an estate. Both ensuite bathrooms were excellent; large, clean and as with the rest of the property, traditionally appointed. Certainly we found the beds, bedrooms and the accommodation in general to be more than adequate and we spent a superb week at the property. We had a wonderful stay including a tour and tasting of the wine made on the estate.

    Customer Reviews

    Overall:
    We had a fantastic week.
    Enjoyed Most:
The peace, quiet, views and the swimming pool.
    Unpleasant Surprises:
The flying ants in the bathroom at night.
    Surrounding Area:
The beauty of the Tuscan landscape.
    Nearby Events or Locales:
Montopoli, was within walking distance although you have some busy roads to cross to get there.
    Tips or Restaurants:
Definitely need a car when staying in villas, renting bikes to explore estate is great fun, Roberta will organise this for you. Roberta will give you list of local restaurants to try, we found them to be fantastic restaurants with great Italian food.

    Overall:
Delightful experience. We were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of this property. The area was perfect for numerous day trips and our kids loved the pool.
    Enjoyed Most:
That it was a mini Italian oasis. From the highway you'd never even know this wonderful place lay behind. It was very relaxing and close to so much.
    Unpleasant Surprises:
We liked it, so hard to say.
    Surrounding Area:
The proximity to so many different areas and choices for day trips. Little villages, big cities, tourist attractions, beaches etc.
    Nearby Events or Locales:
It was a few km to the nearest town, but not within walking distance due to the highway outside the gates. I think it would be a difficult property to be at without a vehicle.
    Tips or Restaurants:
There are great restaurants and locations all around. The property managers will help with recommendations. They even have a book - but really, the choices are limitless.
    Directions:
Extremely easy to get to. We flew to Rome but would have been better, of course, to fly to Florence or Pisa.

    The insects at night.

We could travel without using toll roads or highways.
