Overall:
We had a wonderful visit in Crete. The Villa was perfect for our family and provided an excellent place for us to unwind after our cruise.
Enjoyed Most:
It offered the conveniences of home. Kitchen, living area, washing machine and private swimming pool. We had plenty of room to sit, relax and lounge by the pool.
Enjoyed Least:
The beds. Mattresses in Crete are much firmer than the ones in the USA.
Surrounding Area:
The pool area and yard were lovely. The property also was close to the beach as well as village for food.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Hersonissos was located about a 1/2 mile below the house.
Koutouloufari was located on the same road as the house but was about a mile away.

Overall:
We had a great time. Walking distance to the town but just far enough away to have complete privacy.
Enjoyed Most:
It was beautiful, very private but you could still walk to the main town.
Enjoyed Least:
The bathrooms are rather small.
Surrounding Area:
The beach was gorgeous. The town is also filled with lots of restaurants and shops and great nightlife.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Hersonissos.Yes it was within walking distance
Tips or Restaurants:
To the left of the Villa still on the hill there is a cute little town that is very quiet and has great views.

Overall:
Overall a good experience.
Enjoyed Most:
The house and yard was gorgeous. Also, that the owners were very sensitive about whether we were happy with the house. If we had any questions they were responsive. We had a great time.
Enjoyed Least:
Loved it all!
Surrounding Area:
The location is not very pretty. The house sat up on a hill, so it was an oasis, but the seaside area below is way overdeveloped, and full of low budget groups who are really there for the all night partying and drinking. It was not somewhere we wanted to walk around with children

Overall:
The owner was very helpful, and the villa itself is in superb condition. We would definitely recommend this property.
Enjoyed Most:
The villa itself, and the private pool, as well as its privacy, and proximity to town, shopping, and restaurants.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing, really.
Surrounding Area:
The view, shopping, proximity to restaurants, and groceries, and also proximity to archaeological sites.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Hersonissos was the nearest small town, and it was definitely within walking distance, with a good restaurant very close.
Tips or Restaurants:
Only one caution the water is heated by a solar unit, and it works well, except when the sun doesn't shine. We had a day or two without sunshine in October, and those days we had to take cold showers.
It would be a good idea to arrive during the daylight hours. We arrived after dark, and it was difficult finding our way to the villa. In addition, the villa contained wine, but no food. If you plan on eating after your arrival, you will need to visit the supermarket near by.
There is an excellent traditional Greek restaurant in Hersonissos by the name of "Sokaki." The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable, as we found no entries for more that 12-13 Euros.
Check In Out:
We had no problems, whatsoever.

Enjoyed Most:
The house was gorgeous so well appointed. The nice, gracious owner spoke English. The Pool was lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Would have been gorgeous in May, June and September. Don't go in August.
Enjoyed Least:
We were there in August - not a good time to go. It was very hot, and the beach was jammed with German tourists. There is a hotel above the villa, and there was a constant stream of German tour buses, people and motorcycles. Noisy. Any other time, except for high season would be great. Crete in August is filled with tourists.
Surrounding Area:
The villa is located high up on a hill. It is a 15 minute walk down to the beach, but it is a hefty walk back up the steep hill.
