Customer Reviews

Overall:
A very good way to start our three week stay in Italy.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, very central to our needs.
Enjoyed Least:
There was no view.
Surrounding Area:
Food and transportation were great.
Tips or Restaurants:
There are no stores open, other than restaurants, on Sunday. During the week, there is a siesta-like time when everything closes. Plan accordingly.
Directions:
We used the GPS, worked great.
Check In Out:
It was painless!

Michael, September

Very clean, quiet and secure.
Surrounding Area:
Everything that we wanted to see was within easy walking distance. There were very nice restaurants within a short walk.

We were in Rome.

Directions were excellent.

Gary, September

Overall:
Good location. The apartment is close to the metro and within walking distance to many places. It is located on a nice, quiet street.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location.
Enjoyed Least:
Trouble at check in. We did not get email notification until getting home; we arrived in Rome to discover that the apartment was occupied until the next day. The manager was very apologetic and gave us a room at the hotel for the night and moved us the next day.
Surrounding Area:
Easy access to places we wanted to visit.
Tips or Restaurants:
Just ask at the hotel for any tour guides; they are all most helpful.

Sheila, June

Overall:
It was very clean and well-maintained. It was perfect for a family of 4.
Enjoyed Most:
Two bedrooms, each with a bathroom. Also, the location was excellent.
Surrounding Area:
Excellent restaurants, shopping, and ease of getting to public transportation.
Tips or Restaurants:
Explore the area. The restaurant options are limitless.
Directions:
I took a cab from the airport.

Joshua , February

Overall:
The area was fantastic with lots of shops.
Enjoyed Most:
The property was fantastic. Great position to get to all the sights by foot, and grocery and wine shops close by. Very neat and clean, and just a great inner city flat that I would be happy to live in.
Enjoyed Least:
There were many street sellers, which detracted a little from the experience.
Surrounding Area:
Close to all the attractions and easy shopping.
Tips or Restaurants:
We didn't really find any stand out restaurants and they were all reasonable. No need to bring anything as the apartment is very well stocked.
Directions:
Taxi was easy enough to find. The hotel for key pick up is very close and has very friendly staff.
Check In Out:
Fantastic staff at hotel for key; they arranged a transfer to airport.

Overall:
It was very good.
Enjoyed Most:
The apartment was clean and well-maintained, the staff was helpful, and the building (keys, lift) was easy to manage. The beds were comfortable. The nespresso machine was a treat.
Enjoyed Least:
There was no washing machine in the apartment. It is a laundry downstairs; the cost is 12 Euros/load. It was noisy from an adjoining apartment on two of the five nights. I wish the furniture in the living room was more comfortable. We dined in the kitchen.
Surrounding Area:
Easy to get to transportation and around the city.
Tips or Restaurants:
Lunch outside at Piazza di Monte - right by the fountain - the restaurant right adjacent to it.

Douglas, December

Overall:
First rate...more than I expected.
Enjoyed Most:
Right in the heart of Rome with easy access to everything we wanted to see and do.
Enjoyed Least:
Cannot think of a thing
Surrounding Area:
Restaurants, sites, shopping.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Rome and most of it was in walking distance...the underground and taxis were likewise accessible.
Tips or Restaurants:
Don't overpack and wear good walking shoes and casual clothes.
Directions:
We called our manager at the train station and within 5 minutes he was available to us on our arrival by taxi.
Check In Out:
It went very smoothly.

Leo, October

Overall:
First time to Rome and the location was great for seeing everything we wanted. Could walk to anywhere if we wanted to. We had a wonderful time and this villa was terrific.
Enjoyed Most:
Very clean and modern. Location, Location, Location.
Enjoyed Least:
We have no complaints about the property. It should be noted that there is a 2-man elevator that makes access to villa easy if you are tired.
Surrounding Area:
Right in the heart of Rome. What's not to like?
Tips or Restaurants:
Try the Gatto Matto Chicken House just a few blocks away on Via Cavour 107. Unbelievable chicken.

Overall:
We had a great time staying at Napoli 1. It was a great property for a family of four. It was a very convenient base of operations for sightseeing, and very comfortable for relaxing at the end of a long day.
Enjoyed Most:
There was a very short walk to the metro, and just a block or two away to buses that would take you anywhere in the city. Very convenient to the train station. Great grocery store just down the block on via Napoli, and a few coffee shops around the corner. The keyholder Angelo was incredibly helpful, offering advice on navigating the city and available to assist in making arrangements by phone with businesses that didn't speak English. Easy-to-use WiFi in the apartment made it very easy to stay connected to home and to research local events. The kitchen was very well appointed, and we loved the espresso machine.
Enjoyed Least:
There is little to say about the apartment that is not positive. The shower in one of the bathrooms is a bit on the small side, so those in our group who used that bathroom had a few complaints about bumping their elbows on the shower walls. That minimal inconvenience was more than made up by the much greater convenience of having two full baths. When booking, we were a little disappointed that the one thing that the apartment didn't have was outside space. But in the end, that was irrelevant, since we spent so much time outside of the apartment touring the city. In retrospect, we imagine that we wouldn't have taken much advantage of outside with an apartment even had it been available.
Surrounding Area:
The apartment is very conveniently located to transportation services, so the best part about the location was how easy it was to get to all of the sights. Some sights are within reasonable walking distance. There are restaurants and coffee shops around, and the grocery store and ATMs were very convenient.
Tips or Restaurants:
We didn't eat locally, except for breakfast at the cafe around the corner. The grocery store made it easy to cook breakfast in or have a late lunch or snack in the apt before going out for dinner. There are hairdryers in the bathrooms, so you don't need to bring one. The apartment was very well appointed and comfortable.
Directions:
We used the car service from the airport arranged by RentVillas. 55 Euros from the airport for four people including luggage was a great deal and made the arrival process hassle-free.
Check In Out:
The check-in process was very smooth. We had requested early check-in, and there were no issues with that. Angelo was very helpful in getting us acquainted to the property, and he was available to answer any questions we had. Check-out was very easy.

Enjoyed Least:
The elevator was small.
Directions:
We used hired transportation.

Tom, September

Overall:
We had a fantastic stay in the Napoli apartment. The location is excellent - a 10-15 minute walk to just about every major attraction. it is off the busy road, via Nazionale, and so quiet. church bells at 9:00am are a lovely wake-up call.
Enjoyed Most:
The beds and bathrooms were wonderful- clean new and comfy. The espresso machine is GENIUS and we used it every day. The best aspect, though, was having Angelo as the property manager. He handles the 2-star hotel right around the corner and was always available for questions and concerns. His English is great and he is so willing to help.
Enjoyed Least:
The living room was a little spare and the couch not super comfortable. The place could benefit from a sleeper couch, since 5 people could easily stay in the place. Two bathrooms is rare to find.
Surrounding Area:
Villa Borghese and the Spanish Steps - my daughter and I are runners and she went almost everyday to the park. Do not miss the Museo Borghese in there!
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring binoculars for the Sistine Chapel. Find Locando Barberini for dinner - and Cotto. Both are close. By far our best meals. Cafe Gaudi farther north by the park called via Ada was also excellent for lunch. Great bread, pizza, and a veggie buffet. Find Caffe Sant Eustachio for coffee. we also loved a new place called al Duello.
Directions:
we took an 8 euro shuttle from the airport that took us to the Termini Rail Station which is about a 10-minute walk to the apartment.
Check In Out:
Just to repeat: Angelo is an angel!

Peter And Winky, February

Overall:
Very, very pleasant.
Enjoyed Most:
Extremely convenient to everything.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing
Check In Out:
The property manager is very helpful and professional, and provided excellent recommendations on everything, particularly restaurants.

Raphael, October

Overall:
It was a wonderful experience. My wife and two boys ages 9 and 11 enjoyed the trip. The sites, history, art and food in Rome was great. People were very friendly.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was great. We were within walking distance of most sites and attractions. Metro was only two blocks away and the Train station only 4. If we did not want to walk or a destination was just a little too far to walk we took the metro. The owner was very nice and helpful. The apartment was very clean and had most amenities one would need. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Enjoyed Least:
No screen on the windows but I'm sure that is a European thing. We had quite a few mosquitoes the first few nights. No coffee maker. I guess with all the cafes who needs one?
Surrounding Area:
Restaurants, basilicas and fountains.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We did venture to Ostia Antica one day, used the metro to get there and it was very easy. Another day we went to Florence for the day and took the high speed train and that was easy as well.
Tips or Restaurants:
Again this apartment had everything you would need including umbrellas, hair dryer, ironing board and iron. Grocery store was on the same street, 100 yards away. Many restaurants in the area. We didn't have a bad meal.
Directions:
We had the apartment owner arrange for our transportation and it worked out very well.
