AboutTheExperience

Welcome to this luxurious villa rental in Greece, on the island of Mykonos, famous for its wonderful beaches, charming towns all in white, friendly pelicans, lively nightlife, and a small part in Greek mythology. In recent years, Mykonos has also become a celebrity destination, so keep your eyes out for familiar faces when you go out (try Pasarou beach). However, spending time at your own amazing luxury villa with a pool in Greece will make you feel like a celebrity—it's impossible not to when you've got full-time maid and chef service, ready and waiting to make your experience at this villa in Greece the highlight of your Mykonos holiday. Read on to find out about how incredibly spoiled you are going to be…

LocationDescription

Located on the northwestern outskirts of Mykonos, this villa is only a 5-minute walk from a lovely sandy beach, and 15 minutes' walk from town. In the area around the villa there are a few hotels, but situated far enough away to maintain privacy. The town of Mykonos, on the western side of the island, is characterized by all-white buildings (mandated by city law) with colorful windows and doors. Wherever you go it is likely that there will be a windmill within sight; if you seek one out, you will find that, although it is no longer used for its original purposes, it has probably been transformed into a museum or a private home. Perhaps the most photographed structure on the island is the unique Paraportiani, a cluster of four churches with a fifth actually built on top of one of the others, accessed via a stairway. In the harbor you may run into Petros—a friendly (and enormous) pelican who wanders through Alevkantra and the harbor around Mykonos town, accepting food and affection from children and adults alike. There are also plenty of opportunities for fun seaside activities, such as snorkeling, diving, and windsurfing. If you feel up for adventure, you can hire a boat to go to Delos, a small nearby island filled with the crumbling ruins of an ancient religious centre. Exploring the island of Mykonos is also very easy, since it is a rather small island. You can rent a car, but scooters are more convenient and fun! You will find lots of beautiful beaches, shopping areas, and… rocks! That's right, rocks. In Greek mythology, Mykonos was the place where Hercules battled the giants, and it is said that the enormous rocks scattered over the island are their fallen corpses.

ExteriorDescription

(2000 m2) Offering the height of luxury, the villa is perched on the side of a hill overlooking the sea and Megali Ammos beach. The property is surrounded by olive trees, a variety of bougainvilleas, gardenias, palm trees, and a cactus garden. To the north there is an open view of Mykonos Town and its picturesque windmills. The nearest neighbor is a Greek family that has lived on the island for over 60 years. Outdoor amenities include a huge swimming pool and deck equipped with elegant rattan furniture and a barbecue, surrounded by bougainvilleas, grape vines, and cactus. There are a total of four outdoor areas: a balcony, a kitchen terrace, a salon, and the barbeque area. The salon, located above the cactus garden, is great for dining or a relaxing massage. A couple (both fluent in English) lives on site and attends to all daily housekeeping, cooking, and pool and grounds maintenance. Although they have lived on the island for 15 years, they are both originally Filipino, so the menu offers a variety of choices. Renovations have been completed in early 2006, which include the bathrooms, the kitchen, the outside walls, a new terrace for the master bedroom, the installation of heaters, etc.

InteriorDescription

(250m2) As the villa is nestled into a hillside, there is no true ground floor, since both the first and second levels have outdoor access. Much if the furniture in the house is made from colonial teak, imported from the Indonesian island of Bali. Art on the walls is a mixture collected from all over the world.
Ground Floor: The front door leads into the living area on the right. Also on the right is the conservatory, a glassed area overlooking the town of Mykonos, Tinos Island, and the sunset. On the left of the entryway is located a kitchen/dining room, fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, oven, juicer, toaster, cappuccino maker, and blender. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor. There is one bedroom with a king size bed and a separate bathroom (not ensuite) with sink, toilet, and shower. There is also one bedroom with two twin beds and an en suite bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower.
First Floor: (Also at ground level) Situated on the same level as the swimming pool, the first floor bedrooms function as a self-contained suite. There are two connecting bedrooms: one twin-bedded room and one double bedroom. The bedrooms share a bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower. There is also a kitchenette.
Second Floor: There is a master bedroom with king size bed and en suite bathroom with sink, toilet, shower, and bathtub. All ground floor and second floor bedrooms are equipped with ceiling fans; the first floor bedrooms have standing fans. All bedrooms have mosquito nets over the beds.

A: This villa is worth every cent and more we loved the property and the help absolutly made our trip as wonderful as it was we rarely left to go out to dine the food was so beautifuly prepared

A: I'm in Greece now, having rented on Paros this year for a change. The property on Mykonos is definitely worth the price. The staff is incredible....I have had places with staff before and the staff at this place (all Philipino) definitely pampered us.....meeting many guests at the airport, finding lost luggage....great cooking and imaculate cleaning and respecting a sense of privacy The property is as beautiful as in the pictures...if not more so. We had complaints about one of the main level bathrooms. We would definitely rent the place again.

    Customer Reviews

    Overall:
The Villa defies description. It is rare that the true beauty of something exceeds the website pictures and commentary. This villa is just such a case. The interior, the grounds and the views are spectacular. Anne Marie, Athena and Ernesto, have our gratitude and appreciation, as they are the perfect complement. They made our family feel at home and comfortable and attended to every detail. As for the cooking, to say it is extraordinary, would be an understatement. Our stay was more than we ever expected and wished for. All of these words can never truly express the lasting memories we will have of Amelia's Sweet 16 celebration in Mykonos at this Villa.
    Enjoyed Most:
It is difficult to single out anything as being more outstanding. The staff, the property and the location were all perfect and beyond our expectations.
    Unpleasant Surprises:
There was nothing about the property that we didn't like!! Therefore, our only dissatisfaction was that we had to leave!
    Surrounding Area:
The views from the villa were breathtaking! The location was perfect allowing us to either stay at the villa and relax and enjoy the pool or walk down to the small local beach if we preferred to swim in the sea.
    Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest town was Mykonos town or Chora as it is also known. It is here there are shops, restaurants and clubs. It was within walking distance, however, flat, good walking shoes are helpful as there are a lot of hills to conquer!
    Tips or Restaurants:
The villa owner has thought of everything the guests would possibly need. Even small soaps, shampoos, conditioners and body lotions in all of the bathrooms. Our only suggestion is to have good flat walking shoes as the best way to get into town is on foot and it is "uphill both ways." Ladies, do not plan to wear high heels at night. As for dining out, we never did. The home cooked meals provided by Anne Marie with Athena's help were outstanding! My family never wanted to eat out at a restaurant. Anne Marie has a menu of her specialties and every morning we chose what we wanted for dinner and when we wanted it and it was always ready for us and delicious!
    Directions:
Upon arrival at the airport, we were greeted by Ernesto to take us to the villa. The trip from the airport to the villa is approximately 10 mins. We were traveling as a group of nine people so Ernesto made three trips for us. As it turns out, our luggage did not follow us to Mykonos from Athens so the first night we made do with what we had in our carry-ons. It's always a good idea to carry an extra change of clothes and small toiletries with you for just such an occurrence. Our luggage arrived the next morning and Ernesto picked it up for us. It was all there by the time we awoke to start our first full day of our vacation. What could have been a major inconvenience turned out to be a non-event!
    Check In Out:
Having the caretakers as residents at the property alleviated any issues regarding this process. Although they resided at the property, in a separate small residence, they were never a bother. They appeared as needed always in the background but never intrusive.

    Overall:
The most fantastic vacation experience. I have never been so pampered and relaxed. The villa exceeded all my expectations, just wish I had an extra week.
    Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location. The ability to go into Mykonos town multiple times a day if desired. Ernesto and Anna Marie were amazing. First class service, friendly but quiet and respectful of the guests' privacy.
    Unpleasant Surprises:
The pool level suite was perfect for our group of 3 family members but could be awkward for 2 couples, very little privacy. Also the rooms were not air conditioned like the other bedrooms.
    Surrounding Area:
Spectacular scenery, nightly sunsets were breath taking. Car, moped and ATV rental at the bottom of the hill if desired.
    Nearby Events or Locales:
Mykonos town was only a short 10- 15 minute walk away The way home is uphill but worth every step.
    Tips or Restaurants:
Rent an ATV and explore the island and beaches, great fun!!!
    Directions:
Transportation to the villa was arranged.

    Overall:
Well cared for by Ernesto and Anna-Marie, making the experience easy and relaxing.
    Enjoyed Most:
Secluded behind a stone wall and gate you feel like you are away from the rest of the Island and the outside world.
    Unpleasant Surprises:
Two bedrooms downstairs share a bathroom and you have to walk through one of the bedrooms to get out to the patio. It worked well for our group but may not for some. The laundry price should be established ahead of time if Anna- Marie does the washing. It was expensive.
    Surrounding Area:
Great beach at Super Paradise and many along the way. Did not rent a car or moped and walked most everywhere. Didn't really want to leave the Villa.
    Nearby Events or Locales:
Main town is walking distance from the villa and there is a beach along the way.
    Tips or Restaurants:
Go with Ernesto to town to pick out the fresh food and fish. Nicko"s Taverna in town is reasonable and good and everyone sits outside. All hooked with Wi-Fi and I-Pod connection. Great patio for 10 doing Yoga.
    Directions:
Ernesto picks everyone up at the airport or Ferry and is very reliable.
    Check In Out:
Met with a warm towel and smiling faces.
