(150 hectares) This property dates back to 1900, when it was a simple farming estate. A famous aviator purchased the property and built three unique hunting lodges that still accompany the villa today. 20 years later, the Finzi-Contini family of Florence purchased the property. They lived there until 1954, when the current owners took it over. The property features a combination of Tuscan stone, cotto bricks, and rolling English lawns. The Villa Cacciatore has a private pool (5m x 12m) and the Casetta Ombra also has a small private pool (3m x 6 m). Both pools are open May 1 - October 15.

Questions and Answers From Our Clients
(Click the question to view the answer)
Q: I will be staying with a group at Villa Caccitore, formally Villa Edera, in October 2006. I have heard that there can be a problem using international electrical converter/adapters at some of the older villas. Any help you can give would be appreciated.
A: We brought an array of items with us to Villa Cacciatore, such as hair dryers. We were all able to use them without any problems. We brought adaptor plugs and electrical converters with us and had no difficulty with any outlets. We recharged cell phones, using only the adaptor plugs--also without any problems.
A: We stayed with a very large group of friends at Villa Edera in March 2005 and we had no problems whatsoever using our converter. On all of our trips, our family is always heavily laden with digital cameras and our digital video recorder. In addition, we bring our cell phones, a set of walkie talkies, electric razor and a battery charger - If the adapters didn't work at Villa Edera we would have been in serious trouble. If you haven't already thought of it, may we suggest that you bring with you a multipe outlet power strip that will allow you to plug 6 items in at once and use only one electrical converter/adapter. It has worked great for us.
We hope you enjoy your stay at the former Villa Edera - we talk about our stay there all the time - Enjoy.
Q: There are no pictures of the kitchen. This is a concern Does anyone have photos of the kitchen?
A: The kitchen is wonderful. We had 18 people at the villa last year & the kitchen easily accommodated all of our needs. The only comment is that there is only one fridlge so with a large group you need to shop frequently as you can't store more than a couple of days worth with the fridge space. I also have photos, but cannot access them until next week. However, I would be happy to send them on at that time. I hope that helps? We LOVED Villa Cacciatore.

Customer Reviews
Overall:
Overall experience was wonderful. Gabriella, the manager, was well-informed and provided great insight as to local restaurants, local markets, local stores and train and town visits. We found her recommendations to be invaluable and she really enhanced our stay. She arranged a wonderful cooking experience with two local cooks. They came in from town and cooked for a party of 12.
Enjoyed Most:
The peace and quiet and the privacy of the property
Tips or Restaurants:
While we were staying at the villa we traveled and spent a day in Rome we spent another day in Venice.
Check In Out:
We got there very late. Check in was very simple. Gabriella left the place open and ready for us to go in. We met with her the following day and upon leaving she was very accommodating. There were no issues as far as checking in and checking out.

Overall:
We had a lovely time although the weather was not cooperating. Gabriella was wonderful. The welcome dinner was great and the rooms are large. The whole house was very clean. We really enjoyed our stay.
Enjoyed Most:
The wonderful quietness of the property.
Surrounding Area:
The quaint towns and vineyards.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Gambassi Terme was the nearest town but the walking path was long and wet. Walking on the road seemed as though it would be unsafe.
Directions:
We used a GPS and it didn't work very well. A better sign out in front of the villa would have been helpful.
Check In Out:
Check in and check out was very easy.
