(700 hectares) This working 18th century farm encompasses 700 hectares of vineyards, olive groves, orchards, woods, and a game hunting reserve. Three of the estate's original buildings have been restored and converted into rental accommodations. This wonderful farmhouse, completely renovated in 1997, is a typical stone farmhouse dating back to the beginning of the century. The villa rental features terracotta floors, rustic furnishings, and colorful fabrics. There is a fenced garden with a barbecue, outdoor furniture, and a swimming pool (8 m x 4 m). The garden is accessible via the first floor at the rear of the house and is surrounded by olive trees and beautiful views of the Valdisieve. There is complete privacy since there are no houses nearby. There is a small restaurant on the estate available to people staying there.

Q: What was your experience at this property?
A: Our experience at the property was fabulous. Our contact person was excellent and very accommodating to our questions. The property is an active vineyard and was amazing living on an operational farm for the week. The villa was perfect for what we were looking for - a rustic tuscan villa where we could enjoy the countryside. The rooms are well decorated and the property is beautiful. We would highly recommend the property.

Customer Reviews
Overall:
It was wonderful, Giulia was very helpful. The pool came in handy with the temps in the high 80s.
Enjoyed Most:
The peace and quiet, the outside area was wonderful.
Enjoyed Least:
When I booked I stressed that internet access was important for the first week because that was when my husband was hosting a scientific meeting. Unfortunately it was not available until Thursday of that week. And while the scientists could go down to reception to use it, it was a great inconvenience. Editor's Note: Management is actively pursuing a more reliable WiFi service for the 2019 season. Periodic outages have been an ongoing issue.
Surrounding Area:
It was very peaceful and easy to catch the train into Florence.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Scopeti was the nearest town and since the villa is in the mountains it was not walkable.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is a wonderful deli in Rufina and though they don't speak much English they were very helpful. It is on the east side of the street when you enter town from the north. Also the little coffee shop across the street serves a hot lunch with 5 or 6 items that was surprisingly good
Directions:
We used a GPS and you would definitely needed. The villa is located quite a ways up the mountain.
Check In Out:
I had everyone's passport photos and gave them all to Giulia when I checked in and that made things much easier.

Overall:
Our overall experience was very positive. We had a great time whether we were relaxing by the villa or exploring a city or town on a day trip. The villa offers plenty of space for a group to relax and enjoy either quiet time, boisterous togetherness, or both!
Enjoyed Most:
The views, the sunsets, the quiet privacy, and the opportunity to live as an Italian for two weeks.
Enjoyed Least:
The WiFi was out the entire time we were there. Editor's Note: The WiFi was unavailable due to a storm; full service was restored the week following. The owner reimbursed 100 Euros for the inconvenience.
Surrounding Area:
The people, the history, the food, the wine, the scenery.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Rufina. It was not within walking distance at all.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is a bottega on Monte Giovi that is phenomenal for the food and the views. The road up, however, is very rough and rugged, but if you take it slowly, it is well worth the drive for the experience! Many of the things that others suggested bringing were provided (toilet paper, dish soap, etc.). I might suggest beach towels unless you want to pay 7 Euros per towel. Towels are not included.
Directions:
We did use a GPS but only for help getting out of Florence from the airport since there was a lot of traffic.
Check In Out:
Sonia at reception is awesome! She is very pleasant and eager to help. We read that the deposit had to be in cash but they took a credit card for our deposit.

Overall:
Magical! it was wonderful beyond our preconceived imagination!
Enjoyed Most:
The views.
Enjoyed Least:
The road up/down...a bit narrow when passing another vehicle.
Surrounding Area:
The beauty.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Scopeti was the closest town. It was not within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurant at the top of the mountain (Monte Giovi) was delightful! Hard to get to, but worth the trip!
Directions:
We did use a GPS. I would tell people traveling from Rufina that you take the first left after leaving Scopeti.
Check In Out:
It took a while because we had so many people staying there, but the person doing it (Sonia?) was absolutely charming.
