The villa for rent in Provence is a few minutes drive from Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. This magical town sits on the islands between five branches of the river Sorgue, which flows out of nearby Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. This gives the town a Venice-like appeal; and although there are no gondolas, there are plenty of ancient waterwheels, some of which are still turning. In the center of the old town you can see the Notre Dame des Anges, built in 1222 and rebuilt in the 17th century. In addition to the scenery, there is also plenty of shopping to be had all around. Market days are Sunday and Thursday, and daily during the summer. An antique market is open on Sunday. Around Isle sur la Sorgue, there are many fascinating Provencal villages to explore, including Fontaine de Vaucluse, Cavaillon, Carpentras, and Chateaurenard. The nearest city is Avignon, a city is ringed by a medieval wall, inside of which you will find narrow, winding streets and ancient buildings filled with shops and restaurants. Avignon is easy to get in and out of by train.

Questions and Answers From Our Clients
(Click the question to view the answer)
Q: How would you the comfort of the mattresses?
A: As far as I know everyone was satisfied. I don't have a strong recollection about ours which is probably a positive recommendation. The bed in the master bedroom was unusual in that it was even larger than a US king - basically two double mattresses side-by-side in a single frame.
A: The king size mattress in the master was very huge and comfortable. I did not sleep in any of the other rooms but our family, ranging in age from 7 to 75 did not complain at all about the bedrooms or the beds.

Customer Reviews
Overall:
With 4 children aged 2, 4,6 and 8, we had a wonderful vacation.
Enjoyed Most:
The house and grounds were very comfortable. The beds were excellent.
Enjoyed Least:
We had to reset the electrical breaker, but it wasn't a big problem.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding towns were very nice to visit: Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Gordes, Roussillon, Menerbes, St-Rémy-de-Provence being a few of them.
Tips or Restaurants:
With 4 small children, we did not dine out. The cook Rentvillas found us, Alain Clareton, worked out very well. He bought groceries for our arrival, according to a list I sent him by email. He made the meals at home and delivered them every day.
Directions:
We did not use a GPS but looked online for the coordinates of a local vintner Domaine de la Gasqui. We also bought wine there. it is very easy to find the house, once you are at the Domaine.
Check In Out:
The charming housekeeper, Frédérique, checked us in and out. She also prepared dinner for our arrival and we hired her for 2 additional hours per day.

Overall:
We would definitely return. The photos on the website do not do the property justice.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was very nice. Lots of trees, quiet, beautiful pool, lovely house. The kitchen and bathrooms were all new, clean and well-equipped. There were many places to sit outside in solitude or with your traveling companions. The owner met us at our arrival and gave us a very detailed explanation of the home in French; her English is not very strong. She also called for us and made restaurant reservations and the restaurant owner helped us find an extra room at a bed and breakfast in the area. Everyone was wonderful.
Enjoyed Least:
The electrical system tripped when we used all the appliances, but it is easy to reset.
Surrounding Area:
Convenient to all locations including several large grocery stores, small bakeries, restaurants, etc.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Isle-sur-la Sorgue is a few kilometers away. Not within walking distance - you definitely need a car.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is also a microwave oven contrary to the information on the website.

Overall:
Higly recommended. I hope we do as well next time.
Enjoyed Most:
The property met or exceeded our expectations in all respects. We were particulary happy at how child- friendly it was. From the photographs we thought that the living/dining area might be too formal to easily accommodate two two-year old boys. In fact, it was perfect. The leather couches were ideal and the low table was a perfect play table - a drawer contained many of the owners' four-year old daughter's small toys. The pool house and its outdoor kitchen were very nice. We spent an hour with the owners when we arrived and their love of the house and the effort they have put into it were obvious.
Surrounding Area:
Everything - Avignon, Arles, Aix-en-Provence, Cassis, Les Baux etc., are all within 30 to 90 minutes.
Nearby Events or Locales:
L'Isle sur la Sorgue. Centre Ville is not within walking distance. St Antoine has a patisserie/boulangerie and bar/tabac, which are about a 20-30 minute walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
Given two small children we didn't search out top-level restaurants. However, there are many nice restaurants along the Sorgue and the canals and those that we tried were all good.
Check In Out:
We were surprised but pleased to deal directly with the owner and his family.
