Exceeded our expectations in all areas. Would love to return.
Enjoyed Most:
The history, location, size, furnishing were all great. Quiet location yet walking distance to village would be our "most liked".
Enjoyed Least:
It was not a problem for us, but be prepared to climb stairs to the main living area and a couple of the bedrooms. This really adds to the charm of the home and its privacy, and unless you have difficulty with walking, you should be fine.
Surrounding Area:
Very convenient to Avignon, but located in the small quiet village of Villeneuve-les-Avignon. Easy walk to restaurants, shops and side-walk cafes. Villeneuve itself is a very historic city with several attractions within walking distance. Locals were very friendly and helpful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
This villa is in a small town withing easy walking to all areas.
Tips or Restaurants:
La Maison des Artistes was very well furnished including "starting food" for first night and next morning that included local wines and some beer. We tried several restaurants in Villeneuve and did not have any bad experiences. Our favorite was Saint Mark's.
It is a little tricky to find due to one-way streets, but Danielle was very helpful with directions and was standing outside holding a parking space for us when we arrived. If you have GPS it is no problem.
Check In Out:
Our hostess, Danielle, made everything a breeze. She was a friendly gracious host that was always available to help in any way.
