- About The Experience
This villa near Sorrento is ideal for family and friends in search of a vacation rental with all the comforts of home... plus some absolutely astounding views! You'll want to eat every meal outdoors, enjoying cool ocean breezes and the breathtaking views from the multiple terraces outside this Sorrento rental villa. And when you want to go out exploring, you'll have Sorrento to the north and the characteristic village of Sant' Agata to the south, not to mention all of the magical towns of the Amalfi coast!
- Location Description
This villa is located between the well-known town of Sorrento and the small but characteristic town of Sant' Agata. One of the most beloved stops on the traditional grand tour, Sant' Agata is often described as one of the pearls of the gulf. It offers a number of sweeping sea views and has been a small but consistently popular retreat throughout history-- visited by the Etruscans, Greeks, and Romans in turn. Here you'll find many shops (and prices are cheaper here!) and fine restaurants, while local sights include the parish church, a monastery, archaeological ruins, and several hiking trails. The somewhat larger city of Sorrento is among the treasures of the Sorrentine Peninsula, overlooking the bay of Naples. This is an excellent base for exploration of the entire coastline, as ferries provide daily service into Naples, Amalfi, Positano, and the islands of Capri and Ischia. The Circumvesuviana train also runs regularly (about every half hour) to Pompei and Naples.
Nearby Attractions: Sant' Agata (amazing views, shops, restaurants, archaeological ruins), Sorrento (many historic sights, connections to the rest of the peninsula and Amalfi Coast), Amalfi, Positano, Pompeii, Naples.

Peace and Quiet
We had a great time and the property was well-suited for our group of nine.
We particularly enjoyed being able to cook using the outdoor wood fire grill and shopping locally for our ingredients.
PARKING!!!Parking is available for only two cars but it is very difficult to get in and out of the parking area. Although the amount of steps required for entrance/exit did not bother our group, there were well over 50 steps involved and it could be a problem for elderly or infirmed visitors. The pool is only suitable for children.
All it had to offer. Very convenient to visit Sorrento and the drive along the Amalfi Coast was quite scenic and pleasant.
Nearby Events or Locales:
S. Agata--it's a great little town, friendly people, good restaurants, decent market, pharmacy helpful (we had a need for cold meds). Just go directly to one of the two lots offered and walk around the town.
Tips or Restaurants:
MiMi's Roasterrie was wonderful. Just don't sit against the wall which had the oven on the other side! Don Pedro's was walking distance and quite convenient for an arrival night dinner as you will not have had an opportunity to shop for the week. The kitchen was well equipped, but lacked sharp knives.
Used GPS. The property entrance (which is through a locked gate in front of the parking area covered with ivy) had no clearly visible house number. When we called the property agent, he was quite timely in showing up to let us into the house.
Check In Out:
The check-in process was fine, however, it was accompanied by a third party who was interested in selling services such as catering and excursions which added pressure, in our opinion.
The area is beautiful and the view from the villa was amazing, but the many steps down to the villa were a problem for the older people in the group.
The view and the terrace.
The pool is more of an oversized bathtub than a pool with no space around it for sunbathing. No Wifi, so no internet access and also no cable TV, so only local Italian channels. The furniture appears to be in much better condition on the website than in reality. Editor's Note: Satellite TV and WiFi are confirmed at the property. October 2011.
The food in the whole region is magnificent. The villa is very well located, being 15 min to Sorrento, and close to other small towns and an easy drive to the Amalfi coast. We also enjoyed the drive down to Marina Del Cantone which offers many good fish restaurants.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We particularly enjoyed the village of Sant' Agata which is a charming little town with few tourists and lots of good restaurants. It's a 5 min drive from the villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
Don Pedro restaurant which is walking distance away, though a treacherous walk on the narrow mountain road, have fantastic local dishes but is quite pricey. They deliver to the villa which is convenient and will stop by with a free bottle of wine when you first arrive. Sant' Agata also offers lots of fine restaurants ranging from the very basic but delicious "Mimi" to " Don Alfonso" one of the more expensive and exclusive restaurants. Relais Blu in nearby Termini is an exquisite culinary experience but comes at a price. It has a terrace with a great view of Capri. A very romantic setting, great for couples, leave the kids behind.
