About The Experience
Take home a taste of your travels…like farm fresh olive oil and wine produced at your own Tuscany rental farmhouse! Located in the beautiful countryside, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, this vacation farmhouse in Tuscany is the perfect getaway for family or friends. Balance your time between day trips to cities of art such as San Gimignano, Volterra, Florence and Siena…and relaxing by the private swimming pool and gardens of your own Tuscany farmhouse.
Location Description

Located on the edge of the small hilltop village of Renai, this farmhouse for rent in Tuscany enjoys panoramic countryside views. In Renai there are a few houses and a restaurant. The nearby town of Castlefiorentino is only 3 km away and has a train station, supermarket, several banks, post office, pharmacies, a hospital and several shops. For a larger town, Certaldo, with a population of about 15,000, has all the necessities combined with small-town charm. Pick up groceries or eat out in the modern section and spend the rest of your day exploring Certaldo Alta, the old medieval village. If you come in July you may find yourself in the midst of a lively Renaissance festival, complete with street artists, actors, musicians, and more. And don't forget to get your fill of medieval architecture! You can explore the Pretorio Palace or marvel at the profile Certaldo castle cuts across the sky. Like museums? You may want to visit the house of Giovanni Boccaccio (author of the Decameron). If you're looking for a little more variety, day trips will take you to San Gimignano, Florence, Siena and Pisa.

Customer Reviews

Peaceful, serene, blissful retreat. Hidden among the hills near Castelfiorentino, the villa is a surprising find in the rural countryside. We loved the fact that there was no auto traffic or noises of a busy city to crowd our visit. So glad we found this location.
Enjoyed Most:
Nice surprise to drive up and see a play area for small children and a very relaxing pool area. The room arrangement of the house was perfect for a blended age group of friends and family. Full-size refrigerator and stove/oven were wonderful. We felt comfortable leaving the french doors open for a cool breeze. Privacy was welcomed after our day trips into various towns/cities. The corner bistro was a very nice surprise that we enjoyed many times.
Enjoyed Least:
Dirt and gravel roads.
Surrounding Area:
Recommend two restaurants (1) Castell'in Villa in Siena. Coralia has the most exquisite food, wine, and restaurant of all the places we visited. (2) La Pieve Hotel and Restaurant in Castlefiorentino.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Castlefiorentino, nearest town which had everything we needed, except help for a flat tire. Maybe there was a tire/auto business, we could not communicate well enough with locals to call for service. The town is not within walking distance due to the dirt roads and crooked roads. An experienced hiker could manage the walk, but not your typical visitor. About 2 1/2 miles to the train station. A rental car is a must. This is not a negative against the villa, it is a logistics comment.
Tips or Restaurants:
Plenty of up-to-date electrical transformers and converters. We brought devices from 10 years ago and they did not always work (at other locations as well) during our 2 weeks in country. Multiple battery packs for phones and cameras for day trips in the surround areas.
Tried to use a Garmin GPS, but directions were not as precise as Google Maps. Google maps thru Apple were spot on for all driving.
Check In Out:
Check In/Out was efficient, convenient for our departure times, and handled just as the advertisement stated. Many, many thanks to Maria for a lovely experience. We all loved her.

Very comfortable, beautiful home. Great owners who were very helpful to us.
Enjoyed Most:
The grounds and the view are spectacular. You feel like you are living a dream in Tuscany!
Enjoyed Least:
Lack of screens in some bedrooms.
Surrounding Area:
The views, beautiful walks along dirt roads flanked by vineyards, olive groves, and rolling hills.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Villa is in a very small town with one restaurant within walking distance. To get to Castelfiorentino we took a taxi.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring a flashlight for the walk back from the local restaurant.
We called a taxi from the train station.
Check In Out:
Maria was there to greet us and on our last day she was there promptly to check us out.

Enjoyed Most:
The property is beautifully landscaped and maintained. The inside of the house had all the extras we didn't know we missed until we arrived at Casa Fascinante. Having the use of a CD player with music was certainly a plus for us. Wonderful selection of CDs--just the kind of music you want while visiting Tuscany! Maria and her family are wonderful.
Surrounding Area:
You are in the middle of olive groves and some vineyards and, of course, surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills of the Chianti region. Beautiful setting.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Castelfiorentino is the nearest town and not within walking distance. The Coop is a good-sized store and had everything we needed for cooking.
It's a bit tricky to find but we didn't have GPS so maybe that would have helped.
