Our experience at Villa San Paolo was relaxing, comfortable, magical and breathtakingly beautiful.
Enjoyed Most:
The location, the view, and the peacefulness. The spaciousness, antique furniture and art throughout the villa.
Enjoyed Least:
The pots, pans, baking and serving dishes were somewhat limited in the kitchen. This was a minor issue and we made it work with what was there.
Surrounding Area:
The rural, agricultural nature of this location and the nearness of the cities we were able to visit on day trips from the villa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montespertoli was charming with a Tuesday market in the Piazza. It was a short ride to town, but not within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
The local Pizzaria, Osteria del Tempo Perso, "Wasted Time Tavern," was excellent with beautiful views dining on the outdoor deck.
Check In Out:
Our hosts, Ida and Renatto, were very charming and helpful during our stay. Ida saved us by connecting us to a local dentist in Florence when one in our party needed emergency care.

Truly the best vacation place we've experienced - the villa and Tuscany!!
Enjoyed Most:
The multitude of amenities. There were nine of us - we had places to gather and enjoy each other's company, yet we had plenty of places to go for solitude.
Surrounding Area:
Oh Tuscany!! If you've been you don't need any details from me. If you haven't, get on the next plane to Florence! You'll see!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montespertoli. No, it was not walkable. Well, you actually could walk there, but there was so much to do and see in Tuscany, we didn't want to take the time. We wanted to get to Montespertoli quick and enjoy! You have to get to Paolini Pasticceria and enjoy an expresso and pastry, or even the Coop (grocery store) was great fun.
Tips or Restaurants:
DO rent a car and GPS - unless you are going simply to sit and sip wine and gaze out on the views!! If not, you can travel day trips all through Tuscany from the Villa. We even did a day trip out to the coast, to Cinque Terra!
Yes, a GPS is a must. Actually we had a GPS and two or three smartphones. They didn't all always agree on which way to go. So, I cannot imagine driving the back roads without a GPS.
Check In Out:
Renato made check in and out quick and easy. And, she was a delight!! She even called for dining reservations for the nine of us the first night!
