About The Experience

Traveling in a larger group may get pretty hectic at times but the pros definitely outweigh the cons, especially if you choose to stay at this Tuscany farmhouse! Furnished with antiques and comprised of seven bedrooms, choose to cook for yourselves in your large kitchen or have someone prepare something delicious for you, right in the comfort of your home. Only adding to its greatness is the fact that this farmhouse in Italy is within walking distance of Sant'Albino di Montepulciano.

Location Description

Just 800 meters from the farmhouse is the village of Sant Albino di Montepulciano where there are thermal spas, grocery stores, butcher shop, bars, and restaurants. Four kilometers away is the center of Montepulciano, which like Many Tuscan towns, is known to produce great wines. Many of the buildings date back to the 14th century but the castle is believed to date back to the year 715. Because Montepulciano's center is "car-free," seeing the main sights such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the Palazzo Comunale will be easy and fun. There are also many restaurants, shops, and cafes in addition to the some necessities like banks and pharmacies. Great day trip destinations include some of the regions most famous towns like Cortona, a city filled with beautiful art, museums, shops, and restaurants, Siena, and Arezzo.

Nearby Attractions: Montepulciano (wine tasting, shops, restaurants, markets, pharmacy, bank, ancient cathedrals), Pienza, Cortona (museums, shops, restaurants), Siena, Arezzo, Perugia.

Customer Reviews

There were 13 of us, 8 adults and 5 children ages 6 to 10. All had a great time and there was plenty of room for all. The adults particularly enjoyed sitting on the patio, having a glass of wine and watching the kids play games on the lawn.
Enjoyed Most:
Because we had the children with us, we spent a good amount of time hanging out poolside. It was probably the high point of each afternoon after spending a good part of the day touring in the August heat.
Enjoyed Least:
Lack of air conditioning in the downstairs bedrooms, although the ventilation wasn't too bad.
Surrounding Area:
Visiting Florence, San Gimignano, Siena and Montepulciano and of course the beautiful countryside.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Sant Albino and it was within walking distance however we found it easier to drive. We had dinner at Tre Stella a very kid friendly local restaurant three times and it was at the far end of the town, about a mile from the villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
Most things that you will need can be purchased locally at the market in town or at the much larger supermarket, close by in Montepulciano. We did bring along some plastic baggies and found them very useful for food storage.
GPS worked great, on google maps we just had to input the name of the villa and the town.
Check In Out:
Silvia, one of the owners and our primary contact, was great. Both check in and check out went very smoothly.

The stay was fantastic! The villa accommodated all 14 of us with lovely rooms and attached bathrooms. The kitchen area was well equipped and allowed us to eat in several evenings. Sylvia was so responsive and welcoming! We absolutely will stay there again!
Enjoyed Most:
The overall atmosphere and feel of the villa was all Tuscany and so welcoming. It was wonderful that it is a working farm with grape vines and olive trees surrounding it!
Enjoyed Least:
Probably the living room...the room did not accommodate our larger group with the way it is set up, and the couches are a bit difficult to use.
Surrounding Area:
The location was fantastic and so close to amenities and yet felt so private.
Nearby Events or Locales:
San Albino and yes we could walk to it. We found a local market that we visited each day, and the employees were so welcoming to us! We felt like family after our week's stay.
Tips or Restaurants:
Would recommend bringing extra toilet paper and paper towels, as well as, plastic storage bags containers, coffee and other food items you might like. We enjoyed the winery associated with the villa. They had wonderful organic wine and a storefront shop in Montepulciano. We drank and enjoyed several cases of their wine!
Check In Out:
Silvia was wonderful to work with, and she made our check in and out so easy!

Enjoyed Most:
Everything was smooth and easy. Silvia was fantastic. The villa's location is great and it's easy to get anywhere from there. Also, the people at the market in S. Albino were super friendly.
Surrounding Area:
It's exactly what we expected it to be!
Nearby Events or Locales:
S. Albino. Yes.
Tips or Restaurants:
Make sure to stop in at the wine shop in Montepulciano. It might be the best view in town. Plus, the wine is excellent and the people are awesome.
GPS worked well.
Check In Out:
We'd stay there again!
