This Provencal villa is located one block from the village of Saint-Remy-de-Provence. Saint-Remy-de-Provence lies within the “Golden Triangle” of Provence. The Golden Triangle consists of the area inside a triangle drawn from Avignon to Aix to Nimes, and it is considered to be the most beautiful part of Provence. Avignon is a charming walled French town with history, restaurants, museums, shops and a vibrant local scene. There is so much to see: the Place de l'Horloge, the outdoor market in Uzes on Saturday, the Pont du Gard, the antique markets in Isle sure la Sorgue on Sunday, Mount Ventoux, the vineyards, the Festival d'Avignon in July, Fountaine de Vaucluse, and on and on. Worth visiting, Arles has a large two-tiered Amphitheatre. Built in the first century by the Romans, the Amphitheatre is capable of seating almost 25,000 spectators, and it originally provided entertainment in the form of chariot races and gladiatorial combat. Today it is used for bullfighting (during feria pascale), concerts and plays. On Saturdays there is a large market, one of the largest in Provence, where you can purchase textiles, pottery, art and local goods. Arles is also the gateway to the Camargue, one of the best natural sites in Europe with an exceptionally rich plant and animal life, famous for their bulls and white horses. Other areas great for a day trip include Nimes and Aix-en-Provence.
