Customer Reviews

Very good.
Enjoyed Most:
Superbly maintained. Presented with excellent views. Funny enough we had the best WiFi reception of any where we had traveled in Europe.
Enjoyed Least:
Access. Two kilometres of dirt road.
Surrounding Area:
What's not to like in Tuscany. We were in close proximity to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Greve, etc. All were terrific.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Tavarnelle was about 23 km distant by dirt road. You would need to be a keen hiker prepared to get very dusty if you wanted to walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
Tavarnelle had few restaurants. If you want a late afternoon drink you best buy the makings from the COOP and take it home. Borgo Antico (Antico Pieve boutique hotel) has an excellent restaurant and hosts. Book early.
GPS is essential. Roads in Tuscany are narrow.
Check In Out:
The staff person at reservation was delightful and most helpful and obliging. No complaint with either check in or out.

Darryl, September

The property exceeded our expectations. We would love to go back. With multiple units it would be ideal for a large group.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and quiet were amazing after being in several large cities. All views from the villa are of vineyards and olive groves with other villas on hills in the distance. It was a 20-minute drive to a lot above Florence so you couldn't beat the location. Onsite staff is very helpful.
Enjoyed Least:
It was in the 50's at night when we visited in mid May. The villa cannot be heated then and is below grade with thick cement walls; it was cold at night. Hard to sit and talk in the villa in the evenings as a result. We are from a northern climate so we could adjust to sleeping in the chill.
Surrounding Area:
We did not know there would be such hilly, beautiful scenery. The other hill towns in Chianti are all 30-45min away and Florence is 20-minutes. It couldn't be a better location. We loved San Donato--the closest hill town that is off the tourist track.
Nearby Events or Locales:
No towns are within walking distance. You need a car for this villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
We ate in San Donato 2 out of 6 nights; it has 3 resturaunts, all good. In Florence the best restaurant we at at was Trattorie 3 Lione-great pasta.
You need a GPS to drive in Italy. Signage is minimal and everyone drives fast. The roads are dirt near the villa but our rented Ford Fiesta did just fine. Rent the smallest car you can to fit your party in Italy. You will be so happy you did!
Check In Out:
Staff is onsite, speaks English, and is very helpful with resturant recs, directions, and logistics.

Jessica , May

Outstanding, it exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful stay in the villa and it was the highlight of our trip.
Enjoyed Most:
Our family felt at home, it was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. The staff was excellent as well as the property. The location was outstanding; it was so easy to go to numerous locations from the property.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding area was breathtaking! We loved taking walks on the property and enjoyed the opportunity to explore the surrounding towns and cities. Outstanding location for day trips to numerous locations.
Tips or Restaurants:
There are 2 excellent restaurants close to the property. These are visible as you drive to the property.
We found the property because we did a lot of research prior to leaving, so we found it with no problem.
