Location Description

The nearest town of Volterra is located six kilometers away from the property. Volterra is situated on a rocky hilltop 1770 feet above sea level and is filled with restaurants, shops, markets, and ancient castles. It is a great place to visit for anyone interested in the Etruscans. It is encircled by Etruscan walls and features the Guarnacci Museum, home to a large display of Etruscan antiques and artifacts. The rivaling town of San Gimignano is a short drive away where you will find more museums, shops, restaurants, and wine. San Gimignano is well known for its towers and rich history dating back to Etruscan times. It has seen many ups and downs throughout history, but San Gimignano has survived, and today it is very well preserved-- almost just as it was in its medieval prime! It is a wonderful place to wander and explore, and major sights include the 12th century Duomo, the People's Palace, and museums dedicated to artwork and archaeology. Other day trips might include spending time at the beaches of Cecina, or visiting Siena, Pisa, and Florence. Lajatico (Andrea Bocelli's birthplace) is within driving distance. The "Teatro del Silenzio" an open air theater located in Lajatico hosts his summer concerts.

Exterior Description

This villa is surrounded by a park of about 10,000 square meters that is filled with ancient cypresses and olive trees. There is also a garden near the villa with flowers and greenery. An outdoor area has a dining table, gazebo, chairs, and a barbecue. A private swimming pool (14m x 7m), which is open from mid May to mid September, is surrounded by sun loungers, chairs, and umbrellas. Parking for up to 10 cars is available about 50 meters from the villa although it is possible to drive in front of the property to unload the luggage. An unpaved but well-maintained road of 500 meters leads to the property.

Ground Floor: There is a dining room with a table and chairs, a newly renovated and spacious living room with a fireplace. The large kitchen is equipped with a cook-top, oven, microwave, and dishwasher as well as a fireplace. There is a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. A service bathroom near the kitchen has a toilet and sink.

First Floor: A staircase of 10 steps leads up to the first floor where there are five bedrooms. The first, second, third, and fourth bedrooms each has a queen-sized bed (160 cm) and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. The fifth bedroom has a queen-sized bed (160 cm) and there is a fifth bathroom in the hallway with a sink, toilet, and shower.
