About The Experience
This 17th century villa on the Amalfi Coast is within walking distance of the center of Positano, the stunning town that is often the inspiration for artists and musicians around the world. Inspiration can also be found from the comfort of this accommodation for from the private terrace overlooking the sea and the Li Galli islands, home to Greek mythology’s seductive sirens.
Location Description

The property is located within walking distance of the center of Positano where there are restaurants, shops, ice creameries, markets, a bank, post office, and the Spiaggia Grande Beach further down the pedestrian road. There are also bus stops in town that can take you up and down to other beautiful towns along the coast, including Amalfi, which dates back to the 6th century and was once an important trading center. The main sites include the Duomo, in Amalfi's center, the cathedral of Sant' Andrea, which dates back to the 11th century, and the Cloister of Paradise. There is also a museum dedicated to the works of Morelli and a museum where you can view artifacts of Amalfi's long and interesting history. During the summer months, there are daily ferries leaving from Positano to Capri, Sorrento, and Naples.

Please Note: While the Amalfi Coast is beautiful and charming, it is also steep, with many uphill and downhill stairs and walkways. In general, it is an area that is not kind to those of us with knee or mobility issues. This should be considered before booking a property in this area.

Nearby Attractions: shops, restaurants, cafes, markets, beach, bus stop, Amalfi (Duomo, ancient cathedral, museums, ferries), Ravello, Sorrento, Naples airport.

Customer Reviews

We had a great time at the Villa. It was in such a great location to be able to walk to everything in Positano.
Enjoyed Most:
The location and the view
Enjoyed Least:
The bathroom showers were a bit small
Surrounding Area:
The scenery and the restaurants within walking distance.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano. And yes, we walked into town every day.
Tips or Restaurants:
Enjoy the restaurants that you can walk to from the Villa. They were all unique but great in their own way.
Check In Out:
Filomena did our check in and check out and she was great. Very thorough in the check in, and I thought it was great that she had brought copies of the boat trips to Amalfi and Capri for us.

Overall we enjoyed our experience very much. The terrace and view was incredible and the location was very convenient.
Enjoyed Most:
The terrace. The terrace was spacious for the four of us and the view of the water and the boats coming in and out was amazing. We spent every morning out there, as well as before and after going to dinner.
Enjoyed Least:
The living room had a musty smell. Also the lighting in the bathroom connected to the front bedroom was very dim. It was difficult to put on make-up in there.
Surrounding Area:
There were many good restaurants within walking distance. Also, a convenient cafe to get coffee and pastries in the morning (Cafe Positano) and a wine/grocery store (Laterria) close by. Access to steps down to the beach was across the street.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in Positano and walked to almost everything.
Tips or Restaurants:
Next Too was our favorite restaurant. We also enjoyed Il Tridente, Ristorante Mirage and Da Vincenzo. We went to Da Vincenzo twice. It is right at the bottom of the villa steps. Food was good and the staff was very friendly.
We had a driver from Positano so we didn't have to worry about directions.

The location of Villa Galli is excellent. Overall, we enjoyed our week there very much.
Enjoyed Most:
The balcony, the view, the location.
Enjoyed Least:
The musty smell in the sitting area, the kitchen is small, and the post for the balcony umbrella needs to be fixed.
Surrounding Area:
DaVincenzo Restaurant, Cafe Positano, proximity to shops, the beach and bars and restaurants.
Nearby Events or Locales:
All of Positano is walkable.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring washcloths for the shower. Adaptors for all hair appliances, cell phones, tablets. DaVincenzo at the bottom of the steps is great and Next2 down the street was excellent. Cafe Positano for coffee and pastries and the market down the street for wine, beer, etc.
We had a driver from the Naples Airport. RentVillas arranged for porters upon coming and going to carry the luggage.
Check In Out:
Check in and out was very easy.

Susan, September
